Jasper, AR(Zone 7a)

I'll bet it was a mosaic--they are gorgeous.

South, TX

What gorgeous flowers! So pretty!

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Mosaic,Huh? I'm off to look some up! Thanks,Gran.

Frederick, MD(Zone 7a)

imadigger, The center leaves are pinkish like the picture. This type of variegation is called "crown" variegation.

You didn't get that violet you saw, ibrabec?

I like all Rob's crown variegated plants because they are pretty even when not in bloom.

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

No Goldleaf. It was $8.99 and I wasn't sure which one it was.I really wanted it,but I can't start off paying $9 each for noids or I'll be in divorce court before I have time to get addicted again.^_^.

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

I'll make myself a note to remind myself to remember to remind you..or something like that.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I have my new camera! I misunderstood my friend Betty when she said, Sylvia and the 30 plus blooms. This is just gorgeous and is Columnea Silvia.

She just grew it under her gro lights. Mine aren't blooming! (LOL)

OMG, I think I'm going to get sick . . . Here is a picture of my stand when I got home from work a little bit ago . . .

And here are the plants that used to occupy those 2 shelves . . .

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

What happened? Did you leave a cat in the house? I would get sick, also!

Frederick, MD(Zone 7a)

OMG! What happened? I'm so sorry for that mess. How could the shelf be completely bare on top? And, the second shelf..1/2 bare? It's like someone took their arm and swooped everything off.

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

That's exactly what I think happened. I suspect it was DD . . . DS is so proud of his leaf babies and other seedlings, I can't imagine he did it . . . but that one shelf just seems it would be out of DD reach - at least the back half. There are broken leaves everywhere. My Cotton Candy episcia got squished . . . but, I can take cuttings and restick those. I'd do the same for the AV leaves, if I knew which were which. I know this is just small setback in the grand scheme of everything, but WHY did it have to be the shelf that I had my potential club show plants on?!?!? I didn't hold any illusions of actually winning a ribbon, but I did have fantasies of "wowing" members of my AV club. If I could concentrate and figure out how many quarts are in a gallon, I'd be able to mix up a batch of soil mix for the repotting that HAS to be done tomorrow . . . Does a Large Standard HAVE to be a certain size in order to be entered in a show, or is it ok as long as it is over 8"? I will watch tomorrow the CD I borrowed from Gail on "what judges look for". There are 4 standards that may be salvagable for a show purpose . . . it all depends on the size requirements.

Sorry. I know I'm rambling. My head hurts. . .

edited to say "there are 4 quarts to a gallon!"

I am really sorry for what happened. I think a standard should be over 9" for show as a semimini has to be under 9". It's been a while since I have shown and standards entered are usually considerably larger. I hope and pray you will be able to salvage something out of this mess. Even a standard in a 4" pot will be 12".
There are 4 quarts to a gallon...
There are days and then there are days. I understand about your head hurting.

oh..... thats so sad,i hope you can salvage most of it. hang in there,

syru, I would stick all the leaves anyway. You will know what they are when they evenually bloom.

OH Nichole I am so sorry!!! If I can help in anyway jlmk!!!! I would venture it was DD too-- the little pink dress and dolly legs are a give away to be sure;) I am sure too that she feels badly about it. Gorgeous pic kivit!

Highland, IL

I haven't looked at the blooms very much lately, but as always, you all have beautiful pic's.

Syru, I hope everything is better today. So sorry about your plant accident! All of your pic's are so beautiful. A new day may have a new view, keeping my fingers crossed for you and the plants!!!

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

I have decided not even to try and figure out who did this . . . maybe this was a sign . . . I couldn't decide which plants to concentrate on for the show . . . this will reduce the list alot! Besides, DH suggested when we move, I put the plant stand in the bathroom (bathroom has LOTS of space!). Plants will get the extra humidity, and kids will NOT be allowed in mommys bathroom!

On to more pleasant things . . .

Here is a first bloom grown from a leaf cutting from Lou in the fall swap - it was labeled as Coralette.

Sorry for all the background mess.

Ummm.....Nic? Are we trying to glue the plants back together? Look at your pic again! LOL! ^_^

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

If that is what it takes!

But, no . . . that glue is for DS homework.

South, TX

I'm so sorry about your plants.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Syru, I'm so sorry to hear about your plants. I can feel your sorrow. I feel terrible when I knock over just one plant. So your hurt has to be a hundred times worse. I hope you won't find too many damaged plants. At least you will have lots of leaves to plant.

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

I think all but one plant will survive. There are alot of them that show battle scars, though. Oh, well. It could have been alot worse. I mean, what if - somehow - the plant stand had fallen on one of the kids if they were climbing on it? Plants can regrow, but not the kids . . . I think I was just in shock last night.

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Besides, how could I be upset at this?

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Syrumani,
I'm so sorry to see what happened to your beautiful plants and I know it hurts you.You are so right.Plants can be replaced and regrown, but it would have been so much worse if one of your little ones had been injured. It's still a shock to come home and see that, though.I think most of us love and nurture our plants almost as if they are a part of us.My heart goes out to you.

Beautiful,Kivit!

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Kivit, they're beautiful. Do you grow them in the house or do you have a greenhouse? I may have to go and try them here outside in the back yard.

Highland, IL

Kivit, my amaryllis have bloomed indoors, actually some had a few blooms, but they are still green and some have a lot of stems. They are in the house, will they bloom again or are they done? This is the first year I have done this, wasn't sure when to take them out of the pots!!

I LOVE that strep as well!!
