Hey Mona,
Fancy meeting you here.

What you all will learn is that Yahoo Japan is totally different from eBay and much more is involved. Much communication is exchanged with the sellers on 'every' step of the transaction - and unless they changed it, most do not use PayPal, and most will NOT ship to the US. If any one has luck with any of the sellers, you will have achieved a great accomplishment.

So, hold on to your horses because I do have LOTS of seeds from there that I will be growing out *-*.

Joseph , the stamps on the mail have an strong personnality !
Those pics come from a Japanese blog , it's a private person , he has only a little garden and an balcony or an terrace . Very little place but healthy and rare plants.

Emma , directly on the Yahoo.jp it's impossible . There is a lot of service companies as intermediary ( 20 % fee ) , those one work with Paypal http://www.japanauctioncenter.com/ is one of then.If you click on the hammer and go you way you can find the same list of MG. But they don't support the MG seeds auctions.
I have a problem because I send money for 2000 Yens and now I'm in the glue. I know I can get back my money or a part of it but I wanted seeds .I try to understand on different forum but all the poeple are 15 years old . all over the world and only looking for games. music or mangas.I send a mail and I'm waiting fot the responce.

Thanks Joseph,
I will write you about that Particular MG a little later.

Dany,
Good luck. I hope you succeed.
I've not tried any of the service companies yet and am curious how they work out.

I'd like to get a couple of the exhibition pots the Japanese MG growers use to display their plants. I think some of the terracotta pots I've seen at Home Depot garden center are similar but it would be cool to have the real deal just for fun. I have looked but haven't found any vendors. If memory serves me correctly, I've read they're actually urns used in funeral rites.

I've my response from YahooJapan

"Hello
We received your manual bid request.
However we do not handle auctions for plants and all kind of vegetation
including seeds.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Best regards
Nichido"
Like Karen says it only a candy shop - a mirage ! Thanks Fata Morgana !!!!

I refund my money , it will take 2 months . I suppose they send it by sailing boat.

WOW !!! finally I ' find the solution to bid on Yahoo.jp
Nicolas will bid for me , his nickname on Yahoo is NFT*****
Has you can see he will bid ,at the moment, on 14 items from 3 differents sellers .
If everythings go as I think , I 'll win 2 X the item yellow Morning Glories.

What he need for this service :
First by paypal I pay 50 % of the total maximum bid , when he ( or I ) win I pay the rest plus the cost of the 3 mails to Tokyo plus 20 % of the total. Then he send to my address.
I ' ll try " buy now " items too.
Then I probably buy some seeds on the first site I posted ( very expensive seeds )
There is an item 10 seeds cross MG for 500 Yens ( 5,55 $ ), I hope it's not Purpurea seeds .

Wow, Dany, you are the master negotiator! Congratulations on making this fine business arrangement!!!

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

as I was looking on the site a lot of sellers will not ship out of the country I wonder if it legal to ship them out since its the national flower of something

Netcong, NJ(Zone 5b)

There are basically 2 kinds of Yellow (Ipomoea nil) Morning Glories....one is called "Ukon", other is called "Mangetsu".

The name of "Ukon" came from the curcuma which has yellow tubers and that's why this MG is called "Ukon". Actually, the Morning Glory "Ukon" is rarely really yellow, they are most usually a very pale yellow or offwhite.

The other MG that is called yellow is known as "Mangetsu".... It means full Moon in Japanese....the Mangetsu is less yellow than the Ukon...

Attached is a photo of Mangetsu and Ukon with a white kikyo for color comparison...

Mangetsu is on the left and Ukon is on the right...

Hope that helps...

they are just beautifull

I have a question as they germinate should they be in full sun or in bright light

Netcong, NJ(Zone 5b)

Here is an excellent prize Ukon, but this degree of yellow is not something that anyone is likely to find for sale...

Ron the one that i'm now bidding for on Yahoo Japan come from a private people and it's his onw picture , pale yellow but yellow . I'm trying to get 2 X this item ( 3 seeds ) .

Mona there is a French how live in Japan , at the moment he is bidding for me .The seller don't know that the seeds are for exportation. He win yet 2 items .

I find the sites of the compagies producer of MG ,like Sakata etc...
How can I find MG lover sites ?

There is a very good item : 50 seeds mixed cultivars end in 5 days. I trying to negotiate with the seller to double the item on the last price .But there is a problem , an other buyer is bidding .
