Wow Lingernot, what a whopper! She really likes you!
Lingernot/Staynot Gladomeer ۞in Iowa! (#10)
Maybe the ducks saw the ax :O
oh I wish I knew a children's book publisher because I would let them know about this!
a children's book that parents would love to read over and over again.
"A gnome house!" he yelled!! It was so loud, I nearly fell over!"
Wow what a menagerie you have. Such a treat to get to share it through Lingernot's eyes too.
Angele I think Lingernot's adventures would make a wonderful children's book. I've enjoyed his trips and all the great things he has seen and done. I would love to be with him now enjoying all those great creatures great and small. An adventure for me too. Lingernot, you are one lucky gnome and my hero.
I feel like I've just been on a tour of your farm. Lingernot is so lucky to be there. Beautiful pictures of beautiful animals. Nicely done Claire!! I love those little Icelandic sheep, such pretty faces. And the llamas, such wonderful animals. I was at an Alpaca show a while ago and bought some yarn to make a Tam. Took pictures of the ones my yarn came from. Aren't they cute!
Oh, I love seeing all those animals! I do love Llamas. They are so independent minded. And the chickens and little sheep! They are adorable. I'm glad Staynot knew how to interact with them in a natural kind of way. Maybe he has the same question on his mind as I do: how do you tell the difference between sheep and goats sometimes? Those sheep look a lot like goats to me, but I am not a farm girl. I feel pretty ignorant asking, but when I saw them, I just had to ask.
Sally - those alpacas are adorable! That's one critter we don't have yet, but I would love to have one. They look like teddy bears in a way.
Pixydish - most goats look different from sheep because goats generally have short, straight hair on their coats, whereas sheep have "woolly" coats. That is the easiest way to tell. The trick comes into play with the long haired goats. There are not a huge number of long haired goat species, but the most common one is the angora goat. That is the little white one in my pictures with the very curly hair. The biggest difference between angora goats and sheep are their size. Mature angora goats are not generally as large as any sheep, except perhaps a mature "babydoll" sheep, which can be really small. Goats are usually thinner in stature also. A lot of people think our angora goats are sheep, so you're not alone!
Poor Pixydish not know the diff. in sheep and goats. That is okay because I am sure there are others that don't either. I am so jealous of Lingernot being able to travel and see all of the wonderful sites and animals and many people.
What a wonderful trip it was! Thanks for letting us come along!!
LOL! I'm not as clueless as I sound, I guess. I can tell a sheep when I see one if it has the usual sheep's wool as a coat. It's just that the photos of those little sheep look like goats to me. Had anyone asked me what they were, I would have said they were small goats. In any case, they are adorable.
The angora throw me off too, dont worry. hehehe
I'm o.k. as long as the goats have horns. LOL
One of my buddies from the poultry forum would like to host Lingernot! I thought he was finished his travels, but with Byndeweed Beth's permission (as she is Lingernot's Mom), I will send him along to MissJestr, in Kingman, Arizona! Lingernot said he would like to be somewhere warmer where he could see some green in a garden (because mine doesn't have any green).
What say you, Mom?
How great!!! Arizona...Can I go too? hehehe
Me also.
I would be honored to have Lingernot for a visit. Although I should say we just got 8 inches of snow on Monday night, most of it is gone now, but it sure was pretty.
Everyone is welcome here in Arizona I will make a pot of coffee and a pot of water for those would would like Tea... Hummm and maybe some cookies..

On to Arizona dear little Lingernot!
Awesome! I will get him packaged up and ready to move along.
I look forward for the visit.... Thank you ByndeweedBeth and CMoxon... and of course Lingernot you will have fun in the Wild West..
At least Lingernot is getting closer to me again. Experiencing so many different kinds of weather in his travels. I know he has had a great time in Iowa with all the animals. Such a lucky little gnome.
I just noticed we dropped our link back to the other threads and also the list that was to be carried over. CMoxon can you go back and retrieve it and add it in your first post?
Done.
Time to say goodby to the animals and Claire. Lingernot, don't forget to thank her for an awesome visit. Oh, and don't forget to wrap up warm in your blankie. We want you safe and warm in your travels.
Thanks Lingernot's Mom^_^, for letting Lingernot continue, I don't think we're ready for this adventure to stop yet! LOL

I informed the animals and friends that are on the ranch of the upcoming Lingernot visit and they are really excited. I have some things planned for when he is here, I want to pick his brain on a project and since he has vast knowlage of other peoples gardens, I am thinking he will have some good ideas for my quiet space.
A ranch in Arizona with lots more animals to make friends with, Lingernot I can't wait to hear all about it.
He's all packaged up and sleeping (I can hear him snoring). I will take him to the post office today!
Gee Haw! Giddy-up! Horses! Thanks so much MissJestr. Do you have a teensyweensy saddle?
Confirmation # 0103 8555 7495 7560 5096
Will be mailed later today.
Funny you should mention that dahlianut, I went thru Billys toys last night and got out some items he will need to use while he is here... LOL and will craft some others that he will need.
MissJ make sure you feed his frog.
All of his collections along the way are going to weigh more than he does before long!! LOL!
Travel safely Lingernot!!
Claire, it has been a special treat to see your Iowa farm in pictures during Lingernot's experiences. You have been a super hostess! Please post pictures of the Icelandic sheep babies when they arrive in April.
Sheila_FW
Thanks Sheila! It was a delight to host(ess) him!
I will definitely be posting pics of the Icelandic sheep in spring. I have a baby goat due any day now, and he/she will be pictured also. I've always got threads on my livestock going on in the Poultry & Livestock forum!
Lingernot's collection is huge. He's got the hat, the Christmas stocking, the frog, the gnome tea thermos (which I had to refill for him), his friend the bee, his guardian angel, and now he has some sheep's wool that he spun in Iowa. Oh, plus he comes with a seed collection!
What should I have on hand for him to fill his thermos?
Well, gnome tea of course!
The journey continues...excellent! Claire, I've really enjoyed the pics of his visit at your place :-).
Claire one of the goats did turn out to be preg.? Can't wait to see it.
Yes, Lingernot loves Gnome Tea. It is a special brew just for gnomes.
