MIXED SEED NUTS COOK BOOK CHAT

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

I am begining to wonder about arejay and Lorraine both I haven't heard from either one . I tried calling Lorraine and couldn't get an answer so I even called her DD and not answer there either but did leave a message but still haven't heard from her.

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

There you are !!!!! I was wondering about you.

Litchfield, ME(Zone 5a)

No , I haven't she must be very sick. We all just have to think good thoughts and send them her way. I am going to snail mail. Maybe a group card? Will anyone join me?
I will start the card. Dmail me if you are interested. OK?

Litchfield, ME(Zone 5a)

I just dmailed you Flower

Litchfield, ME(Zone 5a)

dont know how to get a sticky done so...I hope everyone that knows and cares about Lorraine find this. Please dmail me if you would like to get in on the group effort to send her a card . I am not sure how we are going to do it yet and am open to all suggestions. But I feel like she needs our support in any way we can give it to her. As she would support any of us. Newbies too. You are all a big part of her day. She would I think be given a boost in whatever is going on. Just hearing from us. Wishing her well and prayers and whatever else we have to help. Pictures poems. Like I said all ideas are welcome.
Please Dmail me if you are interested.

Panko crumbs are sort of the flavor of the month on the cooking channel, I think. Maybe they are finer than regular bread crumbs.
I sent that recipe because Jim was talking about trying to grow celeriac on another thread and I saw it in a seed magazine.
it sounded good to me too. my daughter always says that if you put enough cheese on anything, they'll eat it. =)

Maggiedew was going to visit Lorraine today to take her some food and start working on a trade. I'm kind of worried too, but I hear the flue is wicked. Our middle school was closed Thurs and Fri due to so many being out.

I seem to keep losing my replies today!

Anyway, we have had a spate of wonderful Spring weather, so I have been out actually gardening!
Still cooking, but too busy to write about it! Ms Marta has been in Brussels and Rome all week; home for the weekend, and then off to Madrid on Monday, just when Winter is supposed to return! I'll be joining her on Thursday to spend a long weekend, There, I'm just going to eat (although, you never can tell, I'll probably pick up a recipe or two!)

When we 3 brothers were boys, we had to rotate the task of making bread crumbs. Mother did not allow crusts, so we had to cut those off, put the rest into a pillow case used only for making bread crumbs, and beat them with the side of a hammer head until all was flat and "flour" puffed through the pillow case. If we had told here that all that time we were making Japanese Bread Crumbs, she'd have been aghast! They certainly were fine, though!

Now nannie's daughter is sounding suspiciously like a afficionado of "CheezWhiz" (R) and "Velveeta" (R). I'm of the opinion that one has to be both judicious and subtile in one's use of cheese.

Cumberland Mtns, TN(Zone 6b)

I agree. I am not a fan of processed cheese!

It's a rainy saturday here, but snow is expected again tonight. The extent of my gardening has been repotting violets and making a tempory home for datura's growing in water.

today I spent a few hours (in between phone calls and laundry, etc.,) collecting photos from my computer to put on a digital frame for my Uncle who will be 84 tomorrow. I thought it would be fun to give him a file of pictures he/they can have. it was also very sad..I found old pictures of my mom too.

digital pictures vs. photo albums. is this progress or not? tsk tsk tsk.
I must be old fashioned. hahaha....and cheap. it would cost a small fortune to take this disk to have all the photos printed.

what else do you give a 84 yr old man? he picked up on how to operate the digital frame real quick but he wont try to use the computer.

Go to the link the click on the edit button. I dont know alot about it but that is what I did.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Looks like there is a problem with the wiki - I just checked it out and it was empty. Apparently someone accidentally deleted the information. I recovered what I can, and I started a new one that is protected so only people with a password can edit it.

So, the procedure will be to submit your work to this wiki:

http://cardforlorraine.wikispaces.com/

I will check it regularly and transfer data over into the other wiki so we don't have a repeat mishap. In case the data gets deleted again, you can check out this wiki (this is the password protected one):

http://cardforlorraine2.wikispaces.com/

If anyone posted on the site, please check to make sure your message made it through.

Hope this is better!

Why not create new a prayers request on Daves, so we can all find it and add to it! Sounds like it would be much easier?
