Should have added he is an artist with a brazing torch, just keep him away from the stove!!!
MIXED SEED NUTS COOK BOOK CHAT
With me it's wood I like ..When it warms up I'll take some pic's of a couple bird houses I made.
Have to be careful about birdhouses.......I love birdhouses.....and bird feeders......and.....
Has anyone tried freezing mushrooms? I saw something about placing the cleaned, sliced ones on a cookie sheet and then once they were frozen, move to a freezer bag?
ive got a microwave peanut brittle recipe too. easy too. somewhere. i'm mean, but I'm a snob when it comes to marshmallow creme.....never cared for it and never liked the fudge either. i boil evaporated milk and sugar, then add pb and vanilla. not all the extra sweet stuff. save choc chips for cookies i always say.
you know, we can probably all open a cookbook and pull out a ton of recipes, and we'll most likely send some of the same ones, but I want the good, old fashioned, tried and true, been making them for years and people beg for the recipe recipes. thats what I wish we could build. stuff that's different. hahaha like US. =)~
heh...how about crock pot stuffed peppers with b-que sauce? LOL with COM soup
Hey, guys, any recipes will do. How could we cook if we couldn't open a can and use a little mushroom soup and rotel. lol
If you have recipes that are totally home made, no cans, etc. that's great too. Thought we miaght have the catagory for quick and easy things too. I'll get all that figured out as the recipes come in. I"ll let you know if we are short on some stuff and we dcan all start digging. So for now, just send them in.
But please don't worry about the ingredients. It's your recipes and we just want good! lol
Chris, no, you don'tneed to use the 4 X 6 format. I'll d mail and we'll figure all that out. Sorry it's taken me so long.
Also, sorrhy I've been gone for the last couple days. Finishing up the butterfly trade so been gone doing that.
I"ve started getting recipes and am getting them ready to print out.
Crissy, will get your name on our list and I'll be sure to update the catagories in the top posts. We will still have the quick and easy section.
Be sure to keep an eye on the top 2 posts. I'll try to keep all that stuff updated so youknow what is going on with the sections, etc.
Anything I can print out will be fine in the formating and program you use.
Nannie yes you can freeze mushrooms that way . Mom always even froze the ones we went to the woods and got in early spring.
I had a terrible time finding the email address. It's not in the 1st or 2nd post.
Was going to send some recipes tonight but yahoo's down. What's that all about? GRR!
Pams....you know you can't pay any attention to my comment about marshmallow creme. there are LOTs of good recipes with it.
Trisha....me too. my dad and i used to make bluebird houses. i like the ones made from scraps of tin and cedar shakes, etc., too. and Some day...I'm making a pieced quilt with birdhouses, but thats looking like next winter. by the time i finish 4 more baby quilts, spring will be here. sew much to do...sew little time =)
i done some doozies in the kitchen too. ive destroyed the copper part of a revere ware pot. or turned the wrong burner on under a stone ware pizza pan that shattered into big chunks, the piece that shot off and landed on the floor, scorched the floor. then there's the ones that scare the life out of you....forgetting something on the stove while youre gone 4 hrs and youre still thanking the kitchen Gods. OR why, oh why, I set the food processor on the ceramic stove top while we were canning stuff one day when i was trying to clear the counter off to wipe it down. AND then turned the wrong burner on there too!!!! ha ha it melted some of the bottom and one of the legs on the FP, but you know...it still worked for a long time. i am dangerous.
i know one thing. looking for recipes makes me hungry! and want to cook...stir fry...roast. lol. but still....i'm just looking. now i want a wok. and a 6qt dutch oven. and a John Boos chopping board. cooking aint cheap.
oh oh oh... i found a never tried but looks good basil butter recipe that you could make with any kind of herb I suppose.
help I'm trying to post pic Copy wont high lite therefor it wont copy DUH Any hints
On my computer the pictures are in My Pictures.....on your post where it says send and browse you want to click on Browse and go to My Pictures (or what ever file your picture is in, double click on the picture, which shows the name next to the browse button below, then Preview will show you what it will look like when posted....then hit send and it will post the picture
Hey guys. Sorry email address isn't in the top post. Will put it there, but it is Gladecraft@aol.com.
What i love to do is bake something in a glass cake pan, then set the cake pan on the top of the stove with a burner on. Yippee!!! Gooey crap all over the ceiling, floor, everywhere. Not to mention all the glass all over everything. lol
Tubby, glad you figured it out! I am not real good at giving computer instructions.....
LOVE your birdhouses, those are fantastic!!! My mom has one like the first picture except it only has two houses.....I'm really jealous.........I will have to see if I can find the picture I got of a neighbors cat napping on top of it!!
That would be good picture..Like to see it you find LOL
Your instructions you were right on thanks

Glad I could help, and I will check the old computer and see if the picture is still there...
So, cool, Tubby!
I want one!
Question: do the birds use them?
You'd have to put them up pretty high somewhere, though, to keep the felines from wiping out the groundfloor residents!
Glad you like them You two ..I'v made 5 of the tower type 1for DW ..3 for DDs ..They all set on there front porch.. The other I donated to cancer benefit auction don't know where it sits..The post type have all been for family reunions..We sell chance's to pay for building rent and help with cost of food...I make several different ones..Big to small...The towers are time consuming ..The post aren't as bad I'v made several
Those are great. If I could only be so clever!!
tubby, you could make us all one for Christmas LOL
Think you cold afford the shipping..Or are you picking them up in person LOL
Tubby
I'll get in the 1963 volkswagon Flower Van and make the rounds to deliver the birdhouses. So just gest them ready. If ya'[ll see a yellow volkswagon van with flowers painted all over it, you'll know it's the "Flower Power Van". Especially when you see the garden hat and comfortable shoes. ()Another word for cloggy ugly shoes) So get them ready and I"ll be by to pick them up soon. It will take me several months to deliver, as I'll spend most of the time getting the van fixed. lol
Fixing to order the paper for the books here in a day or so, so here's what I thought.
Kind of a buff color with a little darker color that matches for the background. JUst don't want it to be a glaring white and would like to use 2 colors. What do you think? If ya'll want white, I'll do that.
I'll try to download a picture if you want.
Let me know what you think
Lorraine:
You better be planning to drive that thing to France!!!
Now, tell me : are you getting your emails? On either golenago@gmail.com or Gladecraft@aol.com ?
I've sent some things and have questions, but do not know if you are getting the stuff. PLEASE ANSWER!!!
Colours : should we have a "frog-belly" green?
Download pictures! Always a good idea.
Hey guys.
Yes?!?!?
Ok, somehow I didn't get the post sent??? Anyway, I think I can work with the recipes better if you just d mail them to me. I can copey and paste from there and fix the format if I need to.
I'm haviing a hard time copying from an email. Something is going on with my microsoft works.
I got your recipe and pictures Jim, the pictures worked out great, the recipe I couldn't copy or do a send to. K So since I am obviously computer illiterate, just d mail to me.
So, anyway D MAIL THE RECIPES TO ME I CAN FIX THE FORMAT FROM THERE IF I NEED TO. MAKES IT EASIER ON YOU AS WELL.
IF YOU ARE SENDING A PICTURE, ETC, EMAIL IT TO GOLENAGO@GMAIL.COM
OK.
Complicated, but it works.
Lorraine did you get all the recipes I sent? I sent them to the email Golenago@gmail.com. Let me know and if you didn't I'll resend them via dmail.

I I had no idea what BT was for sure.. I hope this will be helpful to some other newbies
The article:
A Natural Insecticide
Bt, or Bacillus thuringiensis, is a useful addition in the arsenal
against plant-eating insects. Bt is a naturally occurring bacteria
that is common all across the world, and early in the twentieth
century it was discovered to be an excellent form of insect control.
Bt became available to home gardeners in the 1950s but in recent
years new strains have been developed that attack an even wider
range of insects.
The kurstaki strain of Bt kills only caterpillars that feed on
leaves and needles. Bt kurstaki is especially useful for eliminating
corn earworms and those little green cabbage worms that like to
infest broccoli, along with tent caterpillars and webworms that
damage trees and shrubs. Because Bt kurstaki will kill most any
type of caterpillar, it should be used sparingly if you have a
butterfly garden or seek to attract more butterflies to your garden.
Another type of Bt, the israelensis strain, will kill the larvae
of mosquitoes, black flies and fungus gnats. This is good news
for those of you who suffer through black fly season each summer!
The san diego strain of Bt is a good choice for controlling the
Colorado potato beetle. Potato beetles can quickly reduce potato
plants to shreds, but Bt san diego stops the larvae in their tracks
before they can do significant damage.
Each strain of Bt is specific to certain pests. Bt israelensis and
san diego will not harm caterpillars, and likewise, Bt kurstaki will
not harm black flies or potato beetles. Bt acts by producing
proteins that react in the gut of the insect, paralyzing their
digestive system. The insects stop eating and quickly starve.
Bt is not harmful to plants, people or pets, although you should
avoid breathing the powder or spray when applying Bt to your plants.
Bt also degrades fairly quickly in sunlight, so it will not persist
in your garden. Some strains persist for less than 24 hours while
others remain viable for about a week.
...zhinusmom.....Do I get an A for my good copy & paste tec..LOL
Tubby
You get an A+, how bout that!!!!
Jim, if you have a better easier idea, I'm all for it, just remember, they wrote the dummy books for me!!!
I was just trying to simplify and probably made it worse. So dfar the only ones I've been able to really work with is the d mailed ones. The problem is the microsoft works. I don't have the new version on my computer. I have the word, but not the "office", so when I tried to download yours, it wouldn't let me do anything. It was read only and I needed to be able to move it around, etc. to print it. It wouldn't let me print either.
Anyway, till I can figure it out, I just figured the d mail thing would work. Gotta type it somewhere, figured that was as good as any. lol (My daughter really did help write some of the "dummy" computer books and guess who she used as a "templete" he he.
She'd call and ask if I u nderstood this and that and of course I didn't , so she'd work on it till I got it. LOL) Figured there were no other people dumber than me about computers.
Test...Wondering what happens if you connect the recipe in the format Jim had it in to the image upload
nothing happens!!!

Yes Tubby, she's right, we will give you an A+ for this one!
Hey, I haven't check d mails for recipes yet today, but will.
Also, updated the 2nd post to mark paid by the ones I
ve already gotten money from. If you paid paypal and your name isn't marked , it may take a day or so sometinmes. Don't know whyl, guess they just get overloaded.!!
Ya'llare gonna make me fat. I made 2 soups yesterday to try them out before I used the recipe for our book. Can't do that too oftenm. Better just put recipes I've already tried. lol Most of the ones I use are my "made up ones" you know, little of this little of that and no measurements.
LorraineR
What about the recipes I sent you. Did you receive them? Do I need to resend by dmail, or do they work?
Hey girl, I emailed you, but guess it didn't make it. I got a couple of them, but couldn't download or copyh the others. Let me check which ones I need and I'll dmail; you.
We are up to 13 on the books. Robin wants 3. so if you want one, let me know.
