Morning!!!! Wow!!! The old room sizzles... apples are a jumpin' in Sis Kathy's house!! Nice work Cindy!! Sis, bring over the pic please so we can drool over your gifts again.

Now.. to the question about whether all participated in the 2009 swap.. I had dmailed all the older sistahs and nieces, prior to Tina in MB joining, and yes there were a few that didn't participate.
Hopefully for 2010 all will sign up :D It is a great way to welcome the New Year. Still can't force this on anyone...
For your curious minds.. I had placed an * asterisk next to the names that had signed up for the swap. If you can't meet your obligations, let me know.. don't have to give me any reasons, life can get in the way sometimes :D

Sis Kathy and Audrey, please take care of yourselves. Like LK said we don't want any more sistahs to go missing.

Cindy, you're incredibly talented!

LOL, those stinking pot holders gave me a headache. They are to be sewed then turned. That just didn't look good to me so I just zigzaged the edges. Well, they were fused together with heat and bond. Everytime I would start sewing the thread would break and I couldn't figure out why. I noticed that the needle was sticky, AH HA found out what was causing the thread to break. So I had to trim away part of the heat and bond.

Well good morning Miss Cody! How many it took to hold my grandson down? Only 4?? Lolol!! Did you treat him to Sonic's?

What's everyone's game plans for today? I know niece Stacey is counting the hours at work..

Kathy will never figure out how I made the "Dress" that hangs over the oven. I sent my cousin one and she couldn't figure it out either, lol. And to try and explain it very hard. I need to show how it is done.

Cindy, I'm trying my hands at doll making... not an easy thing since my hands are too fat and chubby!!!! Like I told Maid M.. I had to handle them with chopsticks!! Lol!!

Well, beings it's raining I'm indoors of course so I'm cleaning my hobby room so that I can do my crafts in there. Rick has almost taken over the dinning room table with this Barbie doll house project, lol.

Yes, my name is really Jaye. Some folks love to leave out the 'e' even after I had spelled it out! E denotes excellence or exasperating.. depending on how you feel about me.
I was born on a tiny tropical island of Singapore a whole train of moons ago.
My maternal grandmother was one of two sisters, adopted in China by an Egyptian trader, who brought them to Egypt. Then years later, he and his wife decided to move to Singapore.
My maternal grandfather has some Indian/Pakistani and Malay blood. Grandma was years older than grandad. Grandad was a character..had an American personality, having worked in the American embassy for 25 years.
My paternal grandmother was an Indonesian. Her mother's family ran from the Dutch colonists in Indonesia and set up roots in Singapore.
Grandma was a herbalist and 'healer'.
Paternal grandfather was Indonesian too. During WW2, he was sent to a POW camp in Indonesia and none heard from him for 5 years. He returned one day after his wife (my father's mother) married another Indonesian. Till his death, they remained civil.

So, which lucky gal will get the furniture Cindy?

That is Barbie doll furniture for the house that Rick will be making down the line. It is for my grandaughter's 7th b-day July 11th. Think we'll be done? I told Rick that while he is laid off I want him to work it everyday. Because I know when he goes back to work it will only get worked on 1 day.

Speaking of missing peeps, has anyone heard from Tia, Tina lately? I wanted to see her stuff I sent her!

Stacey, you find the fabric and I'll make it for you. I have been having a hard time finding this one bead I need to finish the peacock. It is a 3x6 gold oat. Micheals doesn't even have it. Is there a craft store around you that carries a large selection of beads?

Don is on his way home... and said to let him test the alarms... so, I went to the store... I was 1/2 yard short of finishing cutting out the quilt I was starting... actually, started cutting it out months ago, but couldn't find the back I wanted to use... finally found it... then I came up 1/2 yard short on the flannel... so, now I'm ready to start stitching... THIS ONE IS ACTUALLY FOR ME... seems like everything I make leaves the house for some reason...

Tell us what he thought about his second day and his first bus ride.

His second day went smoother than the first... no problems. He did fine on the bus, and actually knew some people on the bus from his first day at school... some were in his classes.
He did tell me last night that listening in English wears him out... he's very tired at night from concentrating so hard on what people are saying.... I never really thought about that... but that would be quite a mental strain on someone.

Great job, Cindy! Lk got some cool stuff and useful, too. You really crank out the projects. Am beginning to figure out why I'm not as productive .......

Well I have finished reading the "novel" since retiring early last night--8:45!! Nope was't sick just cold so decided to get under my comforters with my pillow!!! Warmed up really fast. LOL

BJ, how funny is that--but not really. I have done the same thing when I needed to get up early. Especially when I have waited to drive to Gainesville and needed to be on the road by a certain time in order to get there for a function. Duh!! Rather sleep.
