Switzerland anyone?
Al's Thread - Part 2 - Come back, Al!
well ok children it is time to play nice
if some members do not get along why not start their own threads
Please don't assume battle lines are being formed over this incident. Believe me, Pirl and I both want Victor back here. Neither of us wanted to battle. We sure don't want anyone to take sides. There's no side except getting Victor back. It was a misunderstanding between the three of us. No one else should have to be invoved, except unfortunately you are as Victor has left, and we all are missing him.
He mentioned in the last dmail he sent me about the problems a year ago, and said he endured a lot from public posting and behind the scenes campaigning. None of that is going on now. We want everyone to be on the side of whatever will get Victor back.
Dave47, what you said is so correct. We've had 'stupid' problems before and no one has disappeared. To me this was a minor misunderstanding between Victor, Pirl and I. And I don't understand Victor leaving over it. That's why I'm at a total loss as to fixing it.
Has anyone at all heard from him?
I do have Victors home address, email, etc. I sent him an email, but I won't attempt to invade his privacy any further than that. Victor is a very private person, and I respect that.
I'm sure he apreciates that Polly, like I said... I think time is needed right now. Be patient , he's a good man and he'll sort this all out in his own time... im sure of it!! ^_^
Hey Northeasterners! I wonder what happened to Al?
I am enjoying the echinacheas. I especially like 'white swan' in the garden.
Oh Oh. what happened to Victor?

Thanks Pix, that's reassuring.
ok let post nice pics and relax
I agree with Celeste and Polly and all who are trying to support harmony being restored. I think we must give our friend, Victor, some space to heal, but kind emails can never hurt. There is no need for anyone to draw battle lines or form camps and dmail campaigns......it seems to me that everyone is in agreement that this was an unfortunate misunderstanding/bad timing completely unintentional and certainly nothing that should cause any division. Good can come out of this, however, and we can all benefit and go on stronger together rather than disperse or dissolve into places that aren't as fun as the NE Forum when we're at our best.
Gloria - so good to see you posting!!! We've missed you!
Mona - that is one cool but stinky plant! I can't imagine having it inside when it decided to do its thing!!
Hi Gloria welcome back.
its been so cold here. y'all remind me that good people can survive even this!
well y'know in the NE people get prepared for WINTER.
Here, I thought, well a few days of cold and we will be back to normal - like days 70 F
and nights maybe 40 F.
I mean I still have windows to install. The wind is blowing in!
How is the renovation comming along G
Well cold is cold no matter where you are and all of you folks down south aren't used to or prepared to deal with it, that's true. I do agree a lot of groans up this way though. Don't forget just cause we get this in the winter doesn't mean we like it any better, just gives us something to complain about until spring finally shows up, which I hope will be soon. :)
that weeping bush is cool never seen one of those before
Thank-you, I love it! Sunflower and bright blue skies, now that's what I'm dreaming about. Nice!
Polly, I didn't think battle lines were being drawn now. I meant that has been the pattern. Let's move forward and hope that if anyone is insulted they check it out privately in a Dmail and try to resolve it. If unresolvable, ignore the poster.
Mona - We love the weeping bottle brush trees. We put in two of them because they attract the hummingbirds and yellow-rumped warblers, as well as butterflies and bees. The photo doesn't do the color of the blooms justice. They are a brilliant scarlet red.
Dave47......have a suggestion along, I think, the same line. If I left I probably would stay away if I thought coming back would mean people would welcome me back.
(Its a guy thing ladies.)
Reading "Come back and let's start over without comment on the past" would encourage me to return.
do you think he is reading the threads
DBrook. Now I know where you are! They plant those bottle brush along the highways here.
Renovation. I have a subpoena to meet the scammers in court tomorrow.
you go girl its hard usually the judge goes in the favor of the contractor hope you got all your ps and qs in order with lots of pics and evidence
mona
Oh, good luck, Gloria! Those scumbags put you through enough! I hope you prevail!!
My fingers are crossed for you.
Hope they throw the book at them.
Victor - When we need help you will help us. When we are in Dire help you will help us. When we have no where else to go you will help us.
Not a sentimental person here - but I almost want to bust in the seams. You mean alot to me dude. You and your wife and kids. If I could blow this site up I would. I wont do that and that is the way a lot of people feel.
Two whole threads for Al and not a word from him..........Oh, Man!
Maybe Victor went whever Al is.
Sure is weird around here without Victor (!)
Shhh. Well its kind of weird when he IS here too.
But we LIKE weird - don't we?
yes mona post pics - i think we need to let victor rest up. he has a busy spring blooming season to share with us.
Knew a guy in Florida who make Pink Flamingos out of rebar. Bent one piece into a flamingo shape, spray painted it pink and sold hundreds, maybe thousands of them at craft shows.
I'd probably buy one of those rebar flamingos. I've always loved them. LOL
DonnieBrook.....handy I would think for small vines and staking. I would imagine rebar pink flamingos last forever too. He was charging $7 each a few years ago.
Hmmm....might be something to look into....pink flamingos sell everywhere but I'm wondering if rebar could be bent into something with a Northeast flavor to it. Any ideas?
ooooo, David.......that fits my retiree's budget........how can I find these pink gems???? I think you're onto something.......but hmmmm, what is the quintessential icon of the Northeast??? I'm not strong enough to bend rebar, but I suspect we have a few people who are on this site!! LOL
Never done it but I think it is not difficult. A pipe bender might work. Any plumbing place has those. I've made copper sprinklers with them.
Another possibility is to draw the shape you want on a board and make jig from nails or spikes to bend the rebar around. Might need a torch to soften the rebar.
Just off the top of my head, that is how I would start....
Sure there is somone here with better ideas.
The family selling them in Florida were mass producing them and I know, from the price and the number they moved, they weren't taking a whole lot of time to make each one.
