Lesser Goldfinches were here in large flocks today. I usually have about 30 that stay year round, but I guess the others were just flying though.

This Nuttall's Woodpecker was cute just working his way around a tree.

Oh thanks Duc for the new thread and nice pics!!

dellrose, all those Cedar Waxwings sitting in that tree together look like a bunch of little masked bandits planning a heist! hehe

Great pictures everyone!

I could have kicked myself this afternoon. I never take my camera along when I take the dog out. Today we walked into the front yard and there was a hawk sitting in one of the lilac bushes! I thought about running for the camera but he took off. Gah! Tomorrow I'll have the camera with me. ;)

Great pics duc! I love the one of all the Goldfinch.

Thanks for starting the new thread!

Nanny, Nice shots!

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

Thanks for the new thread Duc...I love the natural settings of your birds!

Melanie...those Waxwings do look like beautiful bandits and they act like them too the way the swoop in and wipe out the fruit on the trees!

The little Common Redpoll was back yesterday along with a Pine Siskin and many American Goldfinches. I felt like Nanny when I took this pic thru the window and had 3 different birds together.

Here is the Redpoll again, I didn't know the red spot was so shiny until I saw him (?) in the sun. Is this a young male as I see where red seems to be appearing on the chest area?

Here's a few shots of the Carolina Wren that's been hanging around my house for a little while now. He or she sings every morning, goes to the feeder and my new big blue water bowl.

So much catching up to do! Lovely everyone.

Congrats, Rose on the Redpoll. I'll have to keep a sharp eye out for one here! I can't believe they've made it all the way to you! Awesome.

in sad news, I'm just now seeing the conjunctivitis in the house finches.

When I got home from vacation, the feeders were bare…now that I fed them there are 4 starlings. That might be part of the reason!!!

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Awww, Mrs Ed, I'm sorry to hear about that conjunctivitis on your finches. I'll have to look into this since I have so many here.

Dellrose, love that shot of the three different birds and that Redpoll is beautiful.

Methodical, that wren is adorable and the Jay is so perfectly colored-wow.

An American Robin, I can't stop taking their photos.

Love you three-fer Rose...much better than mine!!

Met, your bowl looks good...and love the wren singing shot!

duc, nice one! Love the MB

Yesterday afternoon I saw a hawk chasing a flock of doves. It was quite the sight!

It is almost 40 here so I am going to venture out and maybe go down aroun the lake today. Try to find something different!

Duc,

Cornell has a conjunctivitis study in which I am *supposed* to be participating. I'll have to step it up now, as I've been a bit lazy.

Thank you for the link Mrs. Ed. I think I'll pass it on to my friends.

Clinton, MD(Zone 7a)

Here a few puffy Dark-eyed Junco shots I got a the local nature center. It was sitting quietly in the bushes. Its the same bird but different head position. Well at least I though they were.

Well going down to the lake was a bust. It is frozen so all I saw were some geese on the ice, and not one hawk in sight...ahhh well!

Silly Tufted Titmouse!

Hey if you had eyes on the sides of your head you'd be silly too. LOL!
Maybe you'll see a hawk tomorrow. I hope to be able to stay outside long enough to see a bird today since it's warmer out!

Morgantown, WV(Zone 6a)

GRRR, I am blessed to see the birds I see but I have no new ones. I have been replanning what I am planting and where just for the birds and butterflies. :)

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Meth, your Junco is adorable. I've had a couple here at my feeder all day and I just can't get a clear photo where you can see their eyes (it's cloudy and dreary outside). Your little one must be mighty cold. Great shots.

Nanny, love that Titmouse too!

Marlton, NJ

Met, That's one cute roly poly Junco!

Sweet Junco nanny!

Marlton, NJ

Rose I love the pic with 3 different birds! Yes it is true for the red on the breast.

Met, Those are nice pics of your cute Carolina Wren!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

I just want to belly poke that Junco Met!!

Well...how about a White- breasted Nuthatch..

Thumbnail by nanny_56
