Kivit, I can hardly wait for warmer weather as I am dying for a leaf of your plant! We can all trade lots of leaves if spring will get here for those of you in cold weather.
I am determined to quit buying plants (I haven't bought any in months......streps that is.........) because all of us together on DG have a might good selection of streps. (and everything else, too)
You have a good point Gail!!
I simply don't have the money to be ordering plants all the time. Together we have a wealth of different kinds of gesneriads........
And..if we put on DG Marketplace what we do have, the prices are better than ebay and we can either trade or buy from one another.
Since my passion is propagating I have to have an outlet to recoup some of my money and time spent growing them.
i do the same thing Gail, it's an outlet for when we get to many of the same plants, as i do grow alot from seed.

Love those choices of steps, Goldleaf!
That Big Blue is a miracle! Going to find the hybridizer on line somewhere.
Oh how I love your pictures! I just googled Big Blue streptocarpus for images and it says it is from Robinson (although it is not on the streptocarpus site)
Gail, where did you find Big Blue? I haven't seen this one anywhere. Rob has one called Blue Bopper that he says is "very big and very blue" but it isn't this one. I would be curious to know as I have looked and looked.
Let me see if I can find it again.........I love that Ida Wanna!! She reminds me of a favorite I have called Franken's Jane Elizabeth.........yours might be even prettier than Jane Elizabeth.......
I will continue to look........... I just keep googling different descriptions...........
Oh how cute is she ^_^
Susan
I think your picture is great!
Lynn
well, I am finished! Took me 3 weeks to repot, wick, prune, dip, sprinkle with bone meal & marathon &-oh yes! toss a few.
If I see another mealy bug i am getting Will's shotgun!!
I put 1/4 tsp of marathon in every strep pot I have anyway.........can't remember who told me to do it.
Glad you are through for now!
Goldleaf, I am glad that you pointed out the branching of the bloom stalk on my guppies plant. I hadnt even noticed! I only thought that it has quite a few flowers for a starter plant in a 3 ounce cup blooming for the first time. I went back to look at it & I think it is going to be PROLIFIC! there are 5 bloom stalks coming along that you can see in the photograph! Imagine the display when they are all branched & blooming!
Morning!
Goldleaf your streps are so pretty, wow to iced canadian sunset.
m3rma1d,your little bo peep is a cutie.I'm really liking the mimi's.
Anyone ever heard or tryed liquid marathon?
Sorry, I have the granules. I think they are safer to handle.
jannich, Admire Pro is a liquid marathon. I have some and it can be safely used 1/2 tsp to a gallon of water .......then pour through each plant. The only drawback I see is that it only last for 6 weeks as opposed to months for granular marathon.
Also.......let me check my bottle and see what percentage marathon Admire pro is so that if you are using another product, it may have a stronger percentage....be back.
It is a Bayer product but I would imagine that if you wanted to use another Bayer product you would really have to cut back on how much is recommended if you want to use it for your inside plants. It seems we had this discussion one time and people said ........if the directions say, for example, one tablespoon per gallon of water, you would have to cut it back to 1 tsp per gallon.
You need to find someone more knowledgeable than I am but I do know some people do use the liquid (not ordered for african violets)
**edited to say I found this site........read this

Mercy! You ladies have such gorgeous shots here. It's hard for every one NOT to become your new favorite. LOL
Sue, thank you kindly for your generous offering. I do hope I can offer you something in return. I grow a variety of different houseplants(Begonias, Sansevierias, philodendrons, orchids) that I'd be more than happy to share! Heck, I need to just entirely thin out my HP collection so that I can focus on my growing gessie collection! I will remind ya in the Spring. Are you coming to the Gessie convention in July, in Silver Spring, MD?
Hugs,
Shanika
That's a great pic! I have bought streps from Logees many times--they are really good size and healthy. I figure the extra buck or 2 are worth the price of admission to their greenhouses, where I love to just breathe!
Trip to Logee's GH? Hmmmmm.....visions of this are dancing in my head! Would love to take a trip to Lyndon Lyons or Robs too! I guess it'd be about a 6-8 hour drive from where I live. Can't garner enough interest from my SO to travel with me, so I guess it would have to be me and DD!
Now that I have a camera, was thinking of getting a few pics(with permission) of Logee's next time I go. Dunno who is closer to Rob's/LL--you or me--but not planning a trip there as of now. They'd have to call paramedics to revive me cuz I would be totally overwhelmed and pass out from just being there! LOL!
LOL, ditto! It would not be a good thing.
Oh, you must be close to Logees. How close are you, exactly? Have you met Brian and his wife?
