۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞ 90

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Staceypoo your long post up there is one of the sweetest post I've read from you. It is so true that things happen for a reason. We may not know it at the time but later we can look back and thank God that things turn out the way it does.

I do hope that I can go to BJ's but right now it doesn't look promising. Our finances aren't in the shape to be spending on luxeries and my Larry considers a long weekend trip a luxery.
Marion is sweet to offer to pay for all the gas, but there's no way I could live with myself and not help on the gas and of course the motel room and food. I don't want to be the reason Marion can't go so as Marion told me, just to let it rest for now and well cross that bridge the closer we get to May. So that's what I'm going to do.

Susan and Trisha those pressies are wonderful. Jaye, you are so thoughtful and sincere. I know how much you mean to me and you spread your love all around. You are such a wonderful inspiration and God loving woman. I'm thankful for having you in my life and you are the reason I now have a closer relationship with Him.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

MORNIN' PEEPS !!!!!

Well, looks like Stacey is putting pencil to paper and getting it all figured out... you go girl... what ever it takes for you to get here. OH, and DEBORAH... if you don't get out of the car when Marion pulls into my drive way, I'm going to be one really upset sistah... ya hear?

I gave the new computer back to Don... he said he can sell it to the company and they can really use it on the broadcast truck. It was hard to use... it uses a different operating system (linux, or something like that)... and is impossible to find downloads that will work on it. It was sweet, but I'd never get used to it's tiny keyboard and screen.

Well, Mike didn't land in Tyler until around 9pm last night... was 4am in Austrian time, and he didn't sleep the whole trip. So, he stayed the night in Tyler with the coordinator. He'll get orientated this morning, and I'll pick him up around noon today. He did call me from the Tyler airport, though. I will need to really watch some of the things I say, like "alrighty then"... he didn't understand that...

My granddaughter came last night to spend the night, well, probably two nights. If I had known that all I needed to do was get a 15 year old boy to get her attention, I'd of done it a long time ago. Sheesh... Gonna have to watch em like a hawk, though.

Well, better get moving around if I'm going to get to Tyler today. I'll try to check back in this afternoon sometime, but no promises. This should be a very interesting day.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Deborah... you won't need a motel room... I have a bed with your name on it already, and you'll eat here... just be here, or else.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone.
No Mustang yet. We stopped and looked at it again last night after dinner, but they were closed, so we will be there in about an hour or so. So wish us luck. If it comes home, I will post pictures for sure. One nice thing about having handicap plates, is thet you save on sales tax. Texas says you don't have to pay sales tax, if you are handicap!
Stacey, it is 1776.93 miles, and yahoo maps says it will take 17.54 hours to drive. That will be a long drive for you all to do. Please be careful, and get plenty of sleep, if this is what you decide to do.
Oh yeah, check with your state department of transportation, becasue I just found out the because I am a handicap person, I do n ot pay sales tax on any vehicle I buy. That will saved me about $1500.00
Audrey, you need to have your knee looked after. If it bothering you, should get a check up. We don't like to hear of any of us hurting.

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

Oh, boy, BJ, a grandaughter and a 15 yr old boy...are you going to have YOUR hands full! this poor kids doesn't know what he is in for with girls and aunties and nieces and all. He will be surrounded by adoring females. We will have to be careful not to let him get a big head.
sounds like this is going to be a bash in May! Lookin forward to it.

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

WOW, a purple mustage and no sales tax to boot? I'm there!!!
I don't thnk Michigan does that but I'm sure going to check. You sure better post a pic. That should be one sweet car.
I used to be a car nut. XDH and DS are automotive engineers and we always had strange cars in the drive. Raced 'em for a while back in the 50's-60's and always loved the sports models. My DS works for Nissan and used to let me "test" the sports models; said if I liked it he knew it would sell. But lately it has been "old lady" time; can't take the shifting anymore, so switched to automatic (was tramatic), then to something with big trunk to carry my garden stuff like mulch, so now I'm in a PT Cruiser. Had it for 8 yrs and am getting the bug to have a new car; wish the finances agreed.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Oh Bj I really do want to come. I'll do like Marion says and just lay low with the subject with Larry for the time being and stop worrying over it for now.

Bj, the fellow coming is 15 years old? Wow, I was thinking he was a college student. Give him a Texas translation book if there's such a thing. I know there's a hillbilly one I saw it on a paper place mat at a diner once. I got all the answers correct and didn't realize they seemed strange to northern folk. What fur for what for and so on. Sounds perfectly normal to me. I would screw the boys mind up.

This sunroom is a disaster. Looks like a tornato came through. Best be getting it cleaned up.

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Morning Ladies,
I have to go out to Wal-Mart and I hate going there... I need lights for my new plant shelf... I now have room to spred out my flowers better.. I will try and take a picture of some of the little av's I have blooming... they are so cute...
Well I used my new shot glass last night and had some Makers Mark ... The glass worked just fine I wanted to report...LOL
Be back later....
Hugs,
Sue

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Deborah... I don't think he'll even understand "what for?"... they're taught proper English there... so, Why? is what he'll understand... any my favorite slang would be "how come?"... he's going to have a lot to get used to. Although he does understand English on a level 4, according to a scale of 1-5. He comprehends what he reads in English, and can give an oral report in less than 10 minutes in English, and can converse in English at a normal pace. But, I don't think they consider slang on that scale. (or Texican)

Trying to get g'daughter up out of bed... sheesh... she better hurry if she wants to drive to Tyler with me.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Well, I AM going to have to have the MRI done on my knee. It was so bad last night I couldn't sleep. I took a pain pill at 8:00 and had to have another one at 12:00. I finally went to sleep about 4:00.
Marion, I've had mris on just about everything I've got! I'll just have to drive for an hour to do it. But there's a W*M with fabric, and a fabric store just down the street from the resturant where I like to eat when I go! Hold me back!! LK, he thinks it might be torn cartilage, or a stress fracture to small to show on xray. So what can they do about that?! I sure dread having surgery on it!

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

BJ, go in there and whisper, "Boy!" in her ear!!

Glenview, IL

Oh BJ...How far away is Tyler?
LOL, just think you will have a ton of time to teach Michael all about the sistahs...We are excited to meet him.
So much to learn...For everyone.
Have a good safe trip.

Good morning everyone.
Fairy, you are so cute...I have got to get the map out and do some figuring.
B U T....hemna,hemna,hemna...I can't drive to Texas, please don't make me...I am deathly terrified of highways.
I can barely be a passanger in a vehicle on the expressways, just ask, Betty what kind of passanger I am on a regular street!
I am already shaking at the very prospect of it.
Eyes got real big...I am getting a package...yippeee, will watch the mail. Thak you, thank you!!

Jaye, ROFLOL, Steve txted me he was alive this AM!! I was a good girl and waited before panicking.

Well, finally stopped snowing. Got a full day of chores.

OH, Wanted to let you know, can you believe I have never been to Navey Pier flower show. Maybe this year I will make it a point to go.
If you decide to go again this year, you are more then welcome to come stay with me...Save your hotel money for Plants!!

Deborah...My dinner came out really good. I am starting to like this cooking thing, lol not a morstle left over either.
Thanks for walking me through. How was your dinner?

OK...I better get a move on here...Decorations need to come down today.

Hey Guess who I talked to yesterday!! LOL, besides, Deborah,Debra, Jaye and Betty...
Brenda in Colorado. What a neat sistah! Was wonderful to meet her. roflol, can you tell i like to chat?

Really got to get and do something.
see you in a bit.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

She's up, ate breakfast... and is now straightening her hair... sheesh... I remember at her age I was getting perms to put the curl in, now they're trying to take any hint of wave out of their hair... what's up with that?

Audrey, and everyone who's feeling bad... I do hope you all get to feeling better soon. I hate it when you're hurting.

Signing off till later. Ya'll all have a wonderful day.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I just got WONDERFUL news! Lisa called, the new xrays showed the roots on the tooth aren't as long as they thought and they won't have to put her to sleep to pull it! She'ss also be able to keep the one that on top of that one! One bad thing, there's a cyst under a wisdom tooth, and they'll have to see to that after they take the tooth out Feb. 13th. I'm SOOOOOO relieved! Not as expensive as they first told her, either! Thank all of you for your prayers1 They DO work!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh how I hated to crawl out from under my comforter this morning!! Yeap Joyce, and give my pillow up also--it is just so nice to cuddly up with!! LOL I see everyone now shaking their heads and wonder about this old lady. Hey, I be old--I ain't dead!!!! On with life.

Tink you have really been busy plotting things out. Way to go. Don't worry I am planning to be at BJ's--the only thing that would keep me away is my Mom don't doing well. However, she is doing so well since they found out she was over medicated and not Parkinsons!!! Goes to PT twice a week and according to my sister, is doing really well--no more cane, no more walker!! PTL. She even is planning to come to the festival this year so that say a great deal about her progress.

Deborah, don't want to have to use my older sister or maybe Mom voice on you!!!! I just want company and if that makes you feel bad then plan on just baking some goodies to nibble on while we travel. I do not nor do I want any money on the other items!!! Got it? I am posting it here so everyone knows I just want you in the car keeping me company and providing some wonderful conversations and laughs. Okay?

OMG, BJ what a combination--15 yo granddaughter, 15 yo foreign student. Good luck!!! I, too, have a laptop that I find very difficult to work with. Going to have to get over it though as this unit is about to go for a dusting and cleaning. Finally got all my files downloaded to a flash drive and just to be safe an external hard drive.

Greetings Judy, how is the sewing coming? Stay warm as we also want you at BJs in May. Oh yes, there are some wonderful little white pills you can get from the doctor that make traveling fantastic. I should know as I had to have them when my hubby and I flew to Austria and then to Israel. Makes going any where just a dream. Really.

Kathy, how goes it today? Hurricane Pam keeping everyone straight? I can just see you and Mike now--grinning from ear to ear. Don't blame you--that is what I do when I am with my 2.

Audrey, I think the do a laser type surgery now that really isn't bad if it is a torn cartilage. My Mom had that done and went to Disney 2 days later. She was in her late 70's when that was done.

Sistah Jaye, where are you? Busy sewing? Beautiful bags you made for Trisha!!!! Such a clever idea --mind if I copy for my crocheting? Yeap, been doing a little on the side--the oldest granddaughter ask me to make a blanket for her baby doll. Must do it!!

Debra, where are you dear? Doing okay?

Waving to all the others--need to go get some things unpacked from the meeting and send out some messages to those that couldn't attend the meeting.

Later.

.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I'm missing a lot aren't I for being late!! Blame it on the cold.. well my noise maker took a day off.. 20* is no reason to work in the cold :D
But, 20* won't stop me from saying YES to Michael's!! He just got up and suggested that!!!!
So... I have to get dress in a hurry and I promise to catch up with what y'all have posted after I crashed last night.
LOVE Y'ALL....

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Good luck with all of the MRI's
I need one done on my left knee, the dr thinks I have a slight tear in my cartilage under the kneecap that won't heal, so they have to go in and sand it down. The X-Rays show that I have the same amount of cartilage as a 5 year old child so that's good, he said usually the cartilage of a 36 year old woman is usually half to 3/4 gone, that's what happens when you don't do anything lol! See being lazy does pay off!

Oh I hope you get the purple mustang, that's really cool!

Well, the gal who is supposed to be training me is making quite the spectacle of herself, once again. She's from another state and wants to move back, but because the housing market isn't any good they can't seem to sell their house, so the longer she's at her job and here in AR the more she hates it and the less work she does. She's gotten into this habit of having some sort of emergency on a holiday weekend and now there's a definite pattern, plus I want to learn all I can but if I do force her to teach me then I'll be doing her work and she'll be sitting in her office playing on the computer all day while I'm working my butt off. Well, I pointed out the habit to my boss and he went on a rampage, finding all of these problems that have been ongoing for years, thank God I've only been there 1 1/2 years. I have all of that documented in two different programs at work that nothing is being fixed. My boss was so mad he was pacing, and me and him are both off Tuesday so I hope we don't get yelled at, or I don't get yelled at because of her not caring attitude. It puts me between a rock and a hard place and I don't like it, it makes me look like I don't want to learn.
Anyway, it was opening night at the horse races in Hot Springs so we went out last night to join the party, I needed it and we were home by midnight Woo Hoo!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

OK-so Judy will have to be knocked out, and then Joyce, Mom & I can take turns driving-no motels needed if we rent a mini van and take driving shifts-just keep driving and recline the seats for sleeping....if we spilt the cost 4 ways, it will be at least 1/2 the price of a plane ticket for each of us-$40 a day for the car and about $200-300 (on the high end) for gas.....that would put us each in for about $150 on the high estimate unless gas goes up to $4 a gallon again:) I am a planner:)

And MY GEORGIA PEACH-you listen up-tell Larry to take a chill pill and plan something for himself over that weekend too-you are coming-you will be staying at BJ's which requires NO MONEY and you will be eating at BJ's which requires NO MONEY and you will be riding with Marion which requires BAKED GOODS!!! So a little fun $$ is ALL YOU NEED-like $50 and if you stop smoking, just put the cig money in a jar every week and VOILA!!! A little fun $$, so yes it appears I do have it all figured out:) You can sleep in a recliner in the living room with me and we can snore a chorus all night long!!

LK-I have driven across country 2X, driven 10 hrs from Phoenix to San Jose and 10 hrs from LA to Napa-I drive a lot every day, so no worries:) We will have to make stops though cuz I have the nerve damage in my bottom I am only good for about 5 hrs, then I have to get out and walk around-that is on the high end-I prefer stopping every 3...I also drive 3 hrs to see my grandparents and 2 hrs to see Mom, and Mom drives 10 hrs to St. Louis, so we are good to go:)

Hey Gals..
Was just wondering if there was a Ru planned for just the sisters of Sweet Interruptions???
I have been just relaxing here and watching old shows on Youtube:))
Not looking forward to next season of CSI without Grissom...
I am also looking for a new place but have to wait for some issues to be taken care of with the ex..

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I love those Fairy!! There are a lot of good points said in that email.

So, you are quite the planner! I've driven across country I think 4x and have never been able to plan it out like that, of course we were moving for 2x of that. I've always just had a "chunk of money" and be careful to not run out of it!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Lisa, it is just a gathering planned at BJ for the Sistah Hood and all are welcome. Would be great if you could join us also. Who are you closest to other than Flamingo Kim?

Glad you dropped in and feeling better! We do worry about our group here.
Were you able to get any satisfaction from the apartment complex regarding the fire? I sure do hope so.

Loved the email you posted Tink. Great planning and thanks for telling Deborah how things will be. Can we make that a trio in the lounge chairs? Or do I need to bring ear plugs for all the others? LOL I have an SUV and trying to get Donna from Jax to join us also--or others that could meet up with us.

Well back to packing away Christmas goodies and storing for another year.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Well, Here she is!!! Tell me what you think!
I wish you could hear it!!!

Wonder how Michael is doing with BJ and her granddaughter. Hope he's not skert. ;o)

STACEY....look what I found!
http://www.gaelsong.com/product/56226/Decor_Statues

I hate to tell you girlfriend that I already have my ticket to BJs and it's a FF ticket so it didn't cost (except for the service charge). So I won't be driving with you. I want to get there FAST and when I go on a road trip I WANT to stop and look at the giant ball of rubberbands! If I was retired and didn't have to take time off work, I would think about driving with you, cause I like to drive and that wouldn't be a problem for me. I just want to get there as early as I can and stay as long as I can.

Marion, if Kathy's daughter is living in the 5th wheel when it's time to go to BJs maybe Sis Kathy will ride with you.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Aw Joyce, you are ruining my plan:( Shame on you:( The fairies are cute-LOVE the funny shelf elves!!

And YES MARION-Donna will be riding along too!!!

OMG-LK-I LOVE THAT CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You HAVE to drive it to BJ's and you have to take me for a spin in it!!!!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I'm back!!
Well, Kel figured out that if he suggested Michael's, he'd be able to find him something on sale at Circuit City's which is next door. He didn't believe me when I told him that the high ticket items will be marked up. To his dismay they were. One of the tvs he was eyeing last week was at $899. Today it's $999 with the 10% off!!!!
But to make the trip worthwile for him, he picked up some music cds which were too many to redo the price stickers!!
And.. I had a blast at Michael's, not buying but watching an expert at work making floral arrangements!

Crissy.. you believe in CYA don't you? Only way to work smart. I bet your boss will find you more efficient and will give you a raise. That would be nice, won't it?

That teaches Steve to take his 'duties' for granted, Judy!!! Lolol.. sometimes we have to reinforce their training!!

Love the car LK! Lucky you! Don't you love the smell of a new car's interior?

Those flower fairies are so pretty and affordable too. So, Cookie, you can't help but enable our niece!!

Trisha, Maid M. was the first to have 'approved' of the purse.. That was finished a couple months back!! Hugs and love to Sage!!! :D

Susan I thought you need the perfect shot glass for your Maker's Mark. Do you drink that straight, or in a mix? And if Kim called you, let her know that we miss our crazy sistah!

I'd take up on Maid M.'s offer, Deborah. Don't let pride get in your way to seeing us at BJ's. You know Marion has a heart of gold and it will be perfect.. you'd be keeping her company through the long ride.

Audrey, I don't do stairs.. on account of my knees too. One day.. as soon as my hospital bills are cleared, I'll have to get them 'MRI'ed. Kinda hard without any insurance. A big AMEN for your Lisa.

Good questions there Stacey.. yeah.. why must Jimmy crack corn when we don't care!! Lol!!! And you are right.. everything happens for a reason. That's my motto too if things don't happen the way I want them to.

Gonna heat up some canned tomato soup and watch a foreign film. Love Netflix.. should have done this a long time ago.

When is the BJ thing?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Memorial day week-end. End of May

Thanks for the comments, and I will bring it to Bj'S...

Jaye, that store could be fined by the FTC if their pricing is deceptive. I remember a case where a lady went into a Rhodes Furniture store and challedged them to show where that suit she bought was actually advertised or sold at that original price. She took them to court. The Judge awarded that lady punitive damages in excess of a millon dollars to set a presidance with other retails that jacking the original price up then lowing it for a sale is against the FTC rules and just isn't fair business practices.

Is everyone welcome??

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

why of course Lisa, sistahs . I'm sure BJ would frown on all the Dallas cheerleaders showing up but for us sistahs the doors open. Please try to come.
