Welcome back. Great work. Glad you enjoyed the sweatshirt weather, cuz you surely can't wear one outside now. BBRRR!!!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Celeste, that is EXACTLY the kind of hair DD#2 was born with almost 15 years ago. It was all gone within three months and she was bald and then it grew in blond and curly - adorable, plus she got to wear all those baby hats you never bother with. What a cutie-pie! I am so ready for grandchildren, but DDs are so NOT ready, at 18 and almost 15!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thanks Carrie, DD#1 was born with a mess of dark hair too but it didn't go away. She still has one heck of a head full of hair.

My DBIL started the chainsaw and chipper for me. But I can turn off the saw and that it when it really counts! They took me out to look at "property" and there are some bargains to be had. It is just so flat there - I had culture shock. But we did find the most gorgeous travel trailer that they might buy to use as a guest house. I even said that I would pay for it as it sold for $400 last time it was auctioned. All it needs is a seal for the front and back windows and it is actually livable. Here is a link to what it would look like all cleaned up. http://www.spartantrailer.com/different%20Year%20ts/58RoyalManor.html It is 45' long and however wide they are and the built-ins are amazing. To refurbish it would take some work as there has been some water damage and it needs new carpet and flooring - but it is very cool.

Here is DBIL pickup loaded with come of the wood we cut. We figured that we put 3 pickup loads in the wood storage and one on a pallet by the front door for the wood burner.

AYC - that is an absolutely AWESOME trailer. What a great idea for a guest house.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Cat I love the branch border.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

My little sister thought that up all by herself, too. Funny thing is that I use logs as borders for beds at my house! Guess the wood chips don't fall far from the logs in our family.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Nice job! To bad your couldn't bring that wood to the Northern states and sell it! You'd make a killing!!!!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I just spend the last two hours sifting through the seed 'cascade'. LMAO at some of the seeds I have. Such as capparis spinosa incremis (Caper Bush) - zone 9 tee hee. Off to commence seeding. Excited about astrantia 'ruby cloud', helleborus niger and rhodiolia integrifolia because I forgot I had those and violas because I luv them. Don't ya just luv spring? ^_^

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

that is funny since I checked my seed last week and found all kind of stuff that will never grow in my zone also what is it with seed junkies that spend money on seeds we cant grow lol hahhaha

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Robin, The tigers were removed. Things came to a head when one of them got loose and roamed nearby neighborhoods.

South Hamilton, MA

What is spring? The cold is too much & tell Isabella to stay indoors. DH's great grandmother was Isabella Anna so he named a Miniature Tall Bearded iris that name. By the way I have loved the Packers for over 60 years--except for NY Giants the rest of the teams are johnny-come-latelys.

Thomaston, CT

Nice photos, YankeeCat---too bad you couldn't stay in Arizona a few more weeks! Thanks for the tiger update, Venu---I always wondered about that.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Your granddaughter is adorable, Celeste! You must be very proud.

Cat, I love that travel trailer you guys looked at. Very cool!!!!

What part of Arizona were you in? I lived in Mesa about 4 years and loved it there. In my experience there wasn't any flat land in that area. Lots of great places to hike, many canyons, mesas, gullies, etc. I loved it. Loved the climate, too. I like a dry climate, though many plants I enjoy growing here I would not be able to grow there. When I think of flat I think of Florida. Now that's flat!!!!

Hey, I just saw the movie Gran Torino with Clint Eastwood today. Excellent movie. Good ending. Last week I saw Slumdog Millionaire. I absolutely loved that one. I highly recommend both movies.

I was in the Prescott Valley area, Chino Hills to be exact and it is flat as a pancake.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Wait a minute!!! Only the south part of Florida is flat. We have hills!!!!!!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

You do indeed, Wren...... lovely hills from central Fla. on up! We're very flat down here.....

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Yes I could move I would love to live around Tallahassee. Beautiful around there!

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

I am thinking of getting a winter place in floriday any suggestion looking for access to water and a warm place cheap price

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Practically the whole state is for sale at rock bottom prices. Our county leads the country in foreclosures......great, huh? But for buyers, there is no better time! I can't believe the bargains I keep seeing around us. Thankfully, we don't intend to sell our house; if we did, we'd be getting killed!!!

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

ok well what it a nice safe area that does not get snow in the winter someplace warm lol

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Ok first question do you want salt or fresh water, or lake or river? And how warm are harm are you talking about. The western panhandle weather is more like Ga. The beaches are so-so along most of it but better in the western part. Along the Gulf it is flat but inland it is hilly. Around Tallahassee it is beautiful and they can grow many plants that rest of the state can't

The middle of the state is nice. Thought part of it gets colder than we do here. Many nice lakes.
The southern part is very warm, tropical plants and a LOT of skeeters, and Varments and very High prices.. The gulf coast below Tampa is nice.

If you have dogs or cats you will have to be careful around the water because gators call them lunch.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

ok I am not into gators not use to them so no gator order hahahhahah what are skeeters ?????? I know what varments are we got those is there gators in the salt water???? is there anywhere on the golf coast that is sand and ocean with decent prices or is that like prime and to expensive

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

It very, very, very ,very rarely snows in Florida.

The average low here in Northeaster Florida in January is in the upper 40's so that is probable warm to y'all

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Gators very rarely go into salt water but if no one feeds the gators and you keep you dogs away from the fresh water the they are no problem. Skeeters are mosquitos, and we also have a lot of other bugs.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

I have no problem with bugs I actually like most of them and I also like most snakes haha
have lots of those here at home, 40s is cold looking for daytime temps of mid seventies how far south do I need to go.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

That is the night temps here it is usually in the 60's in the day. Probable below Orlando. There is a place down there that a lot of Canadians winter. I am not sure where it is. Close to the Ocean it is warmer.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

that sounds good if you happen to remember that name let me know that would be good a little of home away from home

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

thank you will check them out

Fairmont, WV(Zone 6a)

WARNING to those of you raised in the north, where the bugs decently die every winter...bugs in Florida reach sizes that no self respecting insect ever should. Consider, for example, the palmetto bug.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Let's not. LOL You could put a saddle on those things and ride them. But seriously if you do not put leaf mulch around you house you should not have any problem with them. But there are a lot of other weird bugs. Oh and our weeds do not die during the winter.

Fairmont, WV(Zone 6a)

Well, when I lived in SC as a tender young thing, my roommate (from Beaufort SC) reassured me, Oh they only come inside when it rains. This turned out to be not so comforting, for obvious reasons. I lived in an apartment building and the b******* wandered inside whenever they darn well felt like it.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

lol I lived in toronto canada for 23 years we have those and guess what some even fly around and are bigger than june bugs lol did you know that is some cultures they give those as wedding presents and hand feed them on the diner table lol hahahah I do not want to live with them lol outside is fine

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

I have seen june bugs and our palmetto bugs are a LOT BIGGER
I better go to bet---I am going to be itching all night dreaming about bugs.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

just think of a big bird came and eat them all lol hahahhaha it is so cold have not even seen a spider in three months hahahah

Fairmont, WV(Zone 6a)

Bugs in the south come in two sizes:
1. Small enough to fit through the little squares in screen doors,
2. Big enough to open up the screen door, walk into your house, sit on your couch, and pop open a beer.

Seriously, I don't think Big Bird would be big enough for one of those nasty bugs.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

hehehe
