If I didn't say it earlier... Happy Holidays all!

Thanks for the well wishes on my being able to get up to Port Angeles safely; I hope it comes to pass.

I have done everything I can do tonight, so I'm going to try to take a nap. If not I can sleep in the car.

Joyce, here are the goodies. I've done a lot of baking this week, though several things didn't turn out. Meringue Snowflakes, the first bunt cake, several of the sugar cookies (the last two items are still edible, just not in one piece), muffins (I sat the rubber like muffin pan on the stove, I had the wrong burner on; the pan is ruined and so are all but those four muffins), two batches of frosting, I think that's all.

Mom made fudge monkeys; you'll have to get her to post a picture.

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Forgot to share the goodies...

Cindy, btw... I'm not going to get my hat decorated by the time I leave, but I will bring it with me and I will get it decorated as soon as I can.

Morning Everyone,
Don't forget to post pix of yourselves in your hats before you get too busy or have to drive somewhere.

(((((((((((((KATHY)))))))))))))))))) hang in there sistah, it is a scary thing and it may just be a fatty lump. I went through the same thing and I was scared too. I cried for days and prayed every day and night that it was nothing. Then when I went to the doctor he said that he was 90-95% sure it was a cyst. So hopefully that is all it is.

Donna, Great job on the bird.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Trisha forgot to say I"m glad you got them already. Hopefully the others will get theirs too. I had Laura's already made then I read in "Likes and Dislikes" that she liked other scents that I have, so I hope she likes the rosemary.

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Cindy, my bad... edited the above post, but... as I said, I'm not going to get mine decorated by the time I leave, unless I still can't get to sleep after taking my benedryl, then I'll work on it. I know what I want to do, just no time.

I love Rosemary! But, anything other than lavender would of been fine, for some reason I can't stand the scent.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I am with you Laura-HATE LAVENDER!!!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Well my hat is as decorated as it's going to get and it's not much.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Morning gals. Teach me to not come by for a few days, 4 threads ago. Wow took me over an hr to just scan over them. I have been racing around with Punk Boy, sewing, doing family things and found time last weekend to get the flu or the 24 hr bug.

Jaye, Punk boy decided he wanted Sonic instead of Mickey D's. Go figure. He wanted teddy grams instead of peanut butter cookies. Stacey mom called me and said I got a box from you yesterday, I will be up at moms tonight and will open it then, my camera is at the DR. so will have to use moms. Will post hopefully by tomorrow. Gosh i have not ever been this busy before. I still have not made any candy or pies yet. Making homemade pizza's tonight as per Punk boys request. He has been asking every day to open a gift but so far so good. he will open tonight with us and then tomorrow with the rest of the family.

TTYS
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Just a quick post while taking a break this morning to say that my thoughts and prayers are with our sweet sistah Kathy... OH MY, how scared she must be... I can't relate, because I've never had anything such as that, but she's too precious to have to deal with all that right here at Christmas. I LOVE YOU CUZ !!!

Merry Christmas to all !!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Bj, hope you and Don, have a wonderful Christmas with your family. Don't work too hard cooking for everyone!

Dolores, CO(Zone 5b)

Kathy, wishing you healthy and healing thoughts. You need people who care to help you get through this! Don't isolate yourself, okay?

Merry Christmas to all... travel safely and take time to breathe! Will decorate my hat today and post a pic later. Hugs to all.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Quickly checking in to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!! Please, please be safe and return us when you can after the holidays!!

I must let each of you know that this has been a wonderful year for me since joining Dave's. Thank you Jaye for finding this lost lurker and dragging her into a swap. What followed with nothing short of a miracle for me--all the wonderful people I have met, feel like I am so very close to as we all in some area or another share such common interest. I count my blessing daily and look forward to meeting all of you in the future.

Kathy, this is for you..........."no man is an island" I wish I had the rest of the words of the song handy but that is the important part. We are here through the good or bad. You are not alone!!! Sending love, prayers and hugs to you and Mike.

Merry Christmas All!!!!

Cindy, those animal pictures had me laughing so hard! You know I have not laughed so much as I have this past few months with you ladies. I am so glad that Stacey talked me into joining with her in her internet "addicition". You have made my days so much more interesting and I look forward to chatting with each and every one of you. You are all unique.
You have renewed my interest in quilting and when I went to the fabric store yesterday I had to have four new black and white materials for our upcoming b & w swap.
I am learning all kinds of new crafts and renewing old ones. And you are so happy with what you get.
So, my Christmas gift to all of you is my thanks for enriching my life during the past few months and I look forward to continuing friendship in the New Year!
Besides...who would put up with someone who looks like this!

Well, everyone, I got a package from Cindy today, and it has a candle that she made! It smells so good. I told her that we only use the ones from Bath and Body works, Eucalyptus Spearmint. Well, I don't know how she did it, but it smells just like the ones we buy! Cindy, I love the candle. Thank you very much!
Todd & I are going to celebrate our Christmas tonight, so when I open the pressies that Stacey, and Marion sent, I will post them here.
Thanks to everyone.

LK, I hunted and hunted until I found your scent. I really like it too. I'm making myself some.

Hi Joyce, love your hat.

Ok, I didn't decorate my hat very much just couldn't get any ideas in my head. The lights blink but you can't tell. And this is a horriable pix of me I have no make up on which I don't wear very often anymore

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Love the hats! There are some creative minds out there. I'm hoping to get mine done tomorrow and post a photo later in the day. Thanks for kicking off the hat parade, Janice!

Laura, you did a great job on the cake. Your grandmother will be proud.

Stacey, I hope Santa brings you a new job!

Donna, that's your first poly-clay project? OMG! You are very talented. Can't wait to see what you make next.

Kathy, you're in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there, try not to ruin your holidays with worry. We will all carry a little of your burden so it will be lighter for you and no one has to carry it all.

Tina, sorry to hear you had a bug. No fun at all. Give Punk Boy a hug for me, ok?

Joyce, no, I'm the one on the right. That was last Christmas. Hope you get an extra big chunk of chocolate in your stocking for such a nice compliment. ♥

Got some baking done today. Made my green beans, a sweet potato buttermilk pie, and Debbiedaisy's strawberry pretzel dessert. Managed to mess that one up somehow - think the strawberries should have been sliced and I used whole ones. Oh well, it may not be the prettiest version of the recipe but I bet it will get eaten!

Off to DFIL's for dinner and stockings. Then must get to bed early so Santa can come. Merry Christmas, sistahs! Sleep well and may visions of sugar plums dance in your head.

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

You did a wonderfu job on you hat, Joyce and you look so pretty in your elf hat, L.K. This was so much fun. Didn't do much more than give the hat a bow and hang an ornament from her antlers but still fun anyway. Just another sign of the fun our group has.

*waving to everyone* Good grief, I wish I'd quit losing this thread! LOL.. I just went through 6 pages at least trying to play catch up..needless to say, I'm NOT going to try to comment on everything I read :)

Been a very long two weeks for me. Major uproar at work and I had to work 22 hours of OT last week and then they asked if I'd give up my day off on the 26th to come in again.. said NO WAY! I'm already carrying over almost 70 hrs of vacation to next year cause it's near impossible for me to take time off (No one there does the same job I do, so if I take time off, it sits and waits for me.. ever tried to take a vacation knowing that?? Not a fuzzy warm feeling, is it??)

Plus I'm doing my best to not get down..it's been just over a year since my mom passed away and I'm not looking forward to going to Sis's house knowing that she won't be there. :( I haven't been to see my Sis since Mom's funeral cause I dreaded the car ride down there, since I would always see Mom when I went down and now I won't have her there. But it's time to put that behind me, so I'll have a little cry as we go to Ft Worth and I'll be better once it's over.

ok, ranting is over.. sigh... poor DH has had a rough time with me the last couple of weeks. I don't know how many times I apologized for growling at him LOL

Hey.. couple of questions:
1. I've noticed that everyone's name is in blue, except for mine, which is in green. Ok, I kinda figure that's just to show that it's my response. Is that right? If so, then how come Susan's is also green? (TurtleChi) Hers is the only other one that I see in green..

2. Jaye.. what is the list at the top? I've read it and I see that it's everyone's name plus what their screen name is, what they collect/like and their birthday. When y'all send things, are you sending to that whole list? Or is there a drawing that takes place to give you a certain "sistah" for the year? I'd love to be added to it, if I am so humbly allowed. :) Or do I have to earn that privilage??

Have a great Christmas everyone.. take care and be safe if you're traveling! I'll try to keep up with the room and talk to y'all in a couple of days :)

Chris

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Good Christmas Eve evening everyone. Well, I'm as ready as I'm going to get for our dinner tomorrow... going to be very simple, so not much to do before they all get here.

Chris... I'll try to answer if I can.
1. The names that show up in green are ones that you've clicked on and looked at their info. Try doing that and see if they turn green for you.

2. The list is just those who have joined out group. It really has nothing to do with having to send anything to anyone... unless you feel like you want to. Some of us have made really tight friendships here, and have sent little gifts to each other from time to time.
However, Jaye did host a swap, just among the "SI Sistahood" to be mailed out about now, and opened after the new year. It's called the Welcome 2009 swap... and names were drawn about 3 months ago. I'm sure she'll do something similar again. BUT, to answer your question... NO, we don't send to everyone on the list... just those you feel like you want to, if you want to, when you want to...
There's another thread here that has more details about likes and dislikes for those that have posted a more detailed description about what their preferences.
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/929419/

Now, you know as much as I do. WELCOME.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Kathy please know that our hearts and prayers are with you.....don't stay away. The good thing about this wonderful group is that they are all willing to cry with you and share the hard times as well as to good. We love you and are here for you.

Cindy Laura loved the Rosemary Candle..........and if anyone has not tried the Victorian Christmas it is absolutely wonderful.......I will be getting more of this scent!!
Stacey, The little Birds are sooo cute, I Love Birds......Laura really did like the ladybugs and Sage is ready to start crafting!
It was a hectic morning, they took off with the Fudge Monkeys so hopefully Laura will get a picture before Sean eats them all....if not I will make more!!!! I know it's tough, but someone has to do it....and sample it to make sure it's good!

Now to get to work on my Santa Hat....

I wish you all Joy, Peace and Happiness........may all your Christmas Wishes Come True.......as for me, all of You are one of the Best gifts I will receive this year....Merry Christmas!!!

Now I have to get to work on my hat...

Hello ladies...
I slept all day!! My body went through an extra-ordinary week and it needed to be recharged for tomorrow and the weekend.

Sis Kathy.. we're here for you. You know how much we love you and will pray for you diligently. Wishing now, that one of us is living close to you..

Tina-Tia, as long as Dylan (PunkBoy) is happy, we're happy!! Tell him that my favorite burger is from Sonic's. It's the Bacon Cheeseburger which I indulge once every two months :*(

Marion, it's us that give thanks to the Lord that you are with us. I always say, nothing is by accident. He knows what is good for us, and with you, He knows WHO is good for us!!!!!!!

Good Lord!!!!! Look at how beautiful our sistahs are with their hats on!!! Oh my, my. Oh what joy you all seem to have just putting them on!!! I'm surprised Cookie doesn't have cookies on it. Janice, I don't think Santa should be in his cups while managing Rudolph!!! Nah.. Cindy, you're a natural beauty ^_^ Ehem.. don't see you Phyllis :D But your hat has your heart on it..
Yep, a nice hat parade indeed Debra!

My Christmas spirits keep soaring just by looking at y'all.
Well, Kel's ex wife's daughter borrowed our digital camera, so my pic will be later :D

Janice, I got your beautiful fairy and the fairy house with the acorn roof truly surprises me!! Will post it on the proper thread. Thank you Janice! Love you!!

Ok, Niece, got a box from you too.. hmm.. I'm supposed to open it tomorrow right?

Cindy, your candle is wonderful!!! Kel loves the scent! Thank you so much!! Remember the first candle I bought from you which is given to my girlfriend? She loves it! That's her first soy candle and she heard so much about it.

Chris, your name is now on the roster. You can rant, rave, fret .. in other words, just express yourself in any manner here, and we'll be here for you. We promise not to judge but lend support and the most, prayers. I know you'll be glad once you see your sister. Since my parents died, I've never returned to Singapore, and am hoping to make that trip to their graves next year, just to say goodbye.
Got to let you know that this thread was started for swap addicts to hang out! We can't afford to join all the swaps, so this 'coffee-house' like atmosphere is perfect for us!! This thread has morphed into a crafter's den and psychiatrist's couch and just 'sistahs' island!

Yah Trisha, me too will be getting more of Cindy's fantastic candles. Hi Sage!!

BJ, I know you'll have a grand time with your family and there's nothing simple about a dinner that's made with the main ingredient.. LOVE!!

WOW!! Phyllis, you done well on your first quilt!!! The flowers look as though they're alive, moving in a light breeze!! Awesome work my sistah!! Love it, love it, love it!! You need to post it in the Quilting forum!

Evening & Merry Christmas Everyone..

Just popping in momentarily while the pc is behaving.. Spent a wonderful evening at my sisters tonight with our immediate family. My oldest nephew drove over and picked up my grandmother so she didnt have to drive so she was happy and sat out in the florida room and played his guitar for us.. It amazed me at how well he has taught himself and he even played a song for my mom and she was crying.. Im so proud of him.. My younger nephew was his normal reistant pushy self..lol they say we are too much alike and thats why we butt heads But him and Tony were running in circles having a great time... My mom Max and I retired to the sunroom and listened to Lane play until dinner time.. .OOOO Dinner time.. My sister made heavenly lasgna and garlic bread along with fresh baked cookies.. She was overly nice compared to how she treated me when I worked for her... Heck she even laughed telling me she had to fire the girl she hired.. We lined the culdasack wih luminaries that the kids filled with sand and set the candles in.. Max, mom and I were in charge of folding with alitte help from grandma.. Then we set them out pulling the trailer full of kids with the jeep.. Was alot of funn.. Then on to opening presents and that well I will post pictures of later after I get tomorrows to add to them but it was great. We all had a wonderful time even Max with only 4 hours of sleep and well a not so nice wake up call when he got his check.. They left off 30 hours of overtime and 5 hours of regular pay stuck a note in his check from corporate and said they would put it on next week.. He was steaming mad since he was going to get some things for me.. Keep in mind this is the first year since we ot married he was making any money so he was excited.. It old him no worries I have everything I need for Christmas and he can always go next week, find better deals and save some money.

Got to talk to the Twins tonight and everything is well with them other than their mother cutting Max short on his call acting like they had to go to bed when they were up until 11 the other nigt with me and she told them they were not having christmas... UUURRGGHHH Its okay things are in motion they will be here soon enough.. We have to get through teh holidays but thats when things will move faster..

Anyway Im rambling.. Gonna go cuddle up to a movie with Max .. Will check in in the am..

Merry Christmas!
