The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

Congrats Adel on your new bird..how many is that now ?

Burn I love those Grosbeaks..we have had a White-winged spotted in the NoMo and the Mo-birds list is going nuts trying to find it! I hope it shows up in my yard!

Nice pics Frank and Met! Frank...I also like the surreal Goldfinch!

GP..Seeing your Buntings is like seeing a breath of fresh air. They are so beautiful!

Mr. Dickcissel was back again today. He has been submitted to the State of Mo and may become famous...I will keep you posted!! Here is a pic from a few days ago.

Gp the leaf in your mature male Bunting, fits him like a hat. :)
Meth I don't get to see the Eastern Towhee, the Wren, and the Mockingbird. Glad your posting pic of them.
Frank, I do like that background with the Cardinal too.
Thanks Pelle.
Something weird is happening, this winter. I saw an unusual Robin today. And the Goldfinches are in no hurry to leave. I'm getting lot of Evening Grosbeak, which I hardly ever had last year. Getting a lot of Blue Jay, had none last year. The Redpolls have not arrived yet, they usually arrive before the Pine Grosbeak, but those are here. Lots of Mourning Doves and a few Pigeons. Go figure!!!

That poor little dickcissel better get a move on. He's supposed to be in Central America by now. Wait a minute, so am I!!!! ;)

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

I would love to see one of those Evening Grosbeaks Burn...and I am anxiously awaiting your Redpolls. It is weird how the birds seem "different" this year. Last year I had lots of House and Purple Finches but this year just an occasional one. Last year just a few Blue Jays and this year there are many. Also no Pine Siskins last year and this year several visits so far.

Here is a Waxwing that landed in the back yard...I think they heard the fake waterfall!

LOL Mrs. Ed...you crack me up!!

Thanks Rose, nice pic of the Dickcissel.
Had a waxwing in the yard today, it's still in my camera. Will probably have to play with the pic, It was a dark and rainy day today.

The Goldfinchs usually are gone by the time the Redpolls arrive. I think it's around the end of Nov.

Great pics everyone!

It's been unseasonably cold, cloudy and blustery here lately. Suppose to get warmer and sunny here this weekend. :-)

Maybe I get a few pics this weekend!

PERTH, Australia

I've been watching but have had nothing to post until today. Gorgeous shots everyone. Frank, I particularly like the Cardinal with the apricot background.

I spent a couple of hours down the reef at Cottesloe this morning. Very low tide. The only birds I saw there were the Silver Gulls. This one is a mature bird, distinguishable by its red beak and white eyes. Legs are also red.

Nice ending Margaret.

Dellrose those Cedar Waxwings are some cool looking birds. I bet he's a lady's man or a man's lady

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Great pics. I have a Canon ProShot Pro1 which I love. The only regret I have is that I can't change the lenses. I was new to the digital scene when I bought it and coming from the Nikon N200, it didn't occur to me that an SLR would not have a lens interchange ability. Now I am checking out Canon's other cameras. I am liking the D series. The newest is the D50. Does anyone have the Nikon D90 or one of that series?

Orchard Park, NY

Love all the beautiful birds! Too numerous to name. Thanks.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

He's very cute Bev! Nice shots!

Nanny, I'd love to have one of those Brown Creepers.

Orchard Park, NY

I've never seen a brown creeper. So cute. I had a wonderful walk this a.m. in the nature preserve where I give guided tours. Watched this piliated woodpecker for a while as he flew from tree to tree, before he eventually moved on.

Caught about half a dozen turkeys snacking at a bird feeder.

I guess there were more like a dozen! They were very curious about me - not afraid at first. I walked up a little closer.

Then, the guy/gal in the center standing up tall, got bolder than the rest.
