Wild Irish Rose is turning into one of the best bloomers ever.
December Blooms
How beautiful, so many wonderful blooms! I need to post my new ones.
Great photos Gail!
I am getting so old, I looked and I had already posted a couple of these on this same thread............get your mind awake, Gail!
I enjoyed them just as much the second time around!
thanks, phoebe! It is just funny getting old!
Tell me about it! I'm going there kicking and screaming! LOL
Absolutely gorgeous photos..one after the other. I could reach out and take them all ^_^
TurtleChi - Do you wick water all your streps? If so, what is your soil mix recipe?
Gwen is the blue one I think (not real sure though)
Yes I wick all of my plants now... I use Pro-Mix and Perlite with extra perlite on the bottom of pot for drainage... I let the water dry in there trays before I rewater... I do nothing special... I am so happy to see them bloom again... I can now smile...yeahhhhh..
Yup thats the one Jim and thanks... I have doubles of some and I am not the best at keeping up with there names but then I became better at it and lost allot of them while dipping...
I love looking at everybody's pictures... Made my days when I had to pluck my buds off remind me what would be coming back.... ^_^
Hugs,
Susan
I cant remember what the pink is but give me time, ill remember it maybe
JIM
I think the pink one is Sweet Talk (Shenandoah's)?????
You are really getting good with these big violets, Sally. Better get ready for the show! Just teasing as I have no idea what will be blooming at my house at that time.
I know, you just never know do you? Wish I could have just one great one at the right time.
Marjorie actually plans which ones she is growing from a year ahead of time...........I can't do that. I am lucky if I get blooms when each plant WANTS to bloom. Let me take a quick picture of sinningia speciosa Nocturnal. She is getting so many blooms. I am hoping the others which were planted from seed will bloom for the third week of February...........at least a few of them............
That bloom is so pretty. The buds look so cute too!
Are you able to go to the party tomorrow?
no.......gotta go to New Braunfels for dental work...........will miss all of you.
Too bad. Have a safe trip.
African Violet - King David
King David (8782) 02/23/1999 (D. Thompson) Semidouble chimera blue frilled star/white stripe. Medium green, plain, quilted, scalloped. Standard
This is a gift I got for a friend back in April that I still haven't sent. I'm really bad about mailing stuff... My new excuse is that I was waiting for it to bloom true LOL
I know I WILL send it eventually, 'cos I don't allow standard sized AVs in my house :-)
Those blooms are magnificent and King David is as pretty as Yukako. Do you remember if you ordered her from a vendor? Thanks
gail
Nope, I got King David from a friend who had some extras--I remembered another friend of mine from another forum really wanted it, so when I saw it on her list of "extras" she wanted to get rid of, I grabbed it for him.
I just checked a buncha vendor sites for it, and finally the last one I checked (Violet Barn) has it listed for $12. http://violetbarn.com/standard_chimeras1.htm
Well, if your friend doesn't want all of your semi's or standards, let me know!
Oh,I hate to see you pitch your plants!! Maybe a friend will want them or you could put them up for sale.
Lynn
