Gail-- S. speciosa Nocturnal...Is it really the color in the pic? WOW!

Portland, ME

Oh no don't worry--plants don't get pitched around here they go to my best friend Lenny in New Jersey :-D

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Gran--rotflol! ^_^

(Zone 1)

Wow! Beautiful pic's everyone! Love that AV called 'Pink Feathers' ... pretty bloom and variegated foliage.

Oh, and that bloom on 'Skeeter' ... love the color!

And that midget 'Silver Fox' is really great, gorgeous variegation in that foliage, pretty purple bloom too!

Only thing I have blooming is this little Chirita tamiana I found spouting and blooming in one of my terrariums.

Hmmm....when I see pics like that, my fish are in danger of eviction! LOL

(Zone 1)

LOL, My DH has a 150 gal salt water aquarium ... takes up an entire wall in the living room. I keep thinking it would be nice to have that one to plant!

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Yeah!!!!

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

plantladylin . . . one day, while dh is at work . . . THAT'S the time to do it!!!

(Zone 1)

oooooh noooooo! Way too much money, time and effort ... and did I mention money? tied up in that thing! Marine fish are quite expensive. I remember years ago we bought a teeny little angel fish, maybe an inch long, if that and it was $85!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

m3r...........thanks for the connection to Rob's for King David

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

phoebe..........that picture is exactly the color of her. When she gets through blooming, I will take cuttings of her and have a lot of them to share...............that is what I love about tubers........you always have the tuber to store for a year if you wish after you take the cuttings...........

Actually--it is a lot darker than that---anyone wanna buy a camera?

Jasper, AR(Zone 7a)

LOL-- experiment with it Phoebe--- flash --no flash--backgrounds-- crouching on the floor and shooting up--Stand on a chair and shoot down---I have carried plants all around my house til I find a spot where I get the results I want and sadly sometimes I never get one that makes me happy.

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Yeah - don't give up yet! It's only been 4 days!!

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Scuse me--I'm crying in frustration....and now the batteries are dying and I can't find those Li batteries. For those of you that know me---YES-I'M WHINING!
And these flowers are pale lavender! :-(

I understand the battery thing-- I am going to look into rechargeable ones-- surely they make them? My last digital(Sony mavica) had a charger-- I LOVED that option-- it just didn't have a macro setting.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

phoebe, find yourself some batteries that you can recharge. The charger runs about 25 dollars but well worth the effort...........Can you find the macro setting. It is a picture of a flower on my camera.

phoebesviolets - Like I said in a dmail . . . regular duracell or energizer AA's will work ok, too. Just don't get the cheap 4/$1 batteries . . .

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

This is my Stromanthe---Camera(or the photographer) Totally missed all the pink on the leaves. I'm not good at learning from reading--and so far, no one who knows what to do has been available to show me--I'm just frustrated at the moment.

phoebe..............someone taught us to take pictures at night or during the day in a dark place..........makes the pictures look darker and great with the flash..........take that same picture tonight and see what happens on your Stromanthe.....

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

OK

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Gail - are you home already, or are you still in New Braunfels?

Highland, IL

Mine are shoing pretty close to the right color, don't know how to get rid of the copyright??

South, TX

Also, the white background bounces light. Try a darker one. I tried to get it darker with Paint Shop Pro, but I really couldn't do a lot to show any pink.

South, TX

Gail, I made some YUMMY Cranberry/Orange Scones for tonight. I will get ready to go before long. We'll miss ya.

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Mmm, sounds good . . . have a few for me!

South, TX

No problem, hehe!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Oh how I wish I were there but I have no teeth (LOL) I might have a glass of wine with no teeth!
Syrumani, Dr. Hamilton said he couldn't work on my mouth with the shingles as it would exacerbate the shingles so much ......they hurt enough already. Just driving to town to the post office and having to put a seat belt on kills me. The thought of driving almost 3 hours up and back...........plus having to spend the night because they put you to sleep...........

So........I didn't go after all......I talked to him at 8 this morning.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Sally I love Cranberry orange scones! Send a few to CT! ^_^

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Jim...........where are you? Here is a strep with a marker of Roulette Azure. Obviously this isn't she.........who is she? Pretty dark wine with white center........

Williston, ND

JIM

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I am positive it is not Phoebe because I have a sickly one of her.................thanks for the tip on Fine Wine....will go check it out.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

this is the first bloom but I don't see the two yellow dots in the throat..............I will wait and see what the next bloom looks like.........because, other than that, she looks exactly like Fine Wine...........
