Well you little oinkers are in luck, I think. Went out to see if I could rescue seed pods from my frozen tricyrtis miyazaki (the only tricyrtis in my yard that successfully seeded). A few pods, though still green outside, were open at the top so I brought them in - and lo and behold, the little brown seeds spilled right out into a bowl, so I imagine they're ripe. Can't say they haven't crossed with any of several other tricyrtis ,so I'll keep a few myself to find out, but looks like around 100 seeds there. Will conservatively say, for now, that there's enough for 3 packs. (good for shade, fall flowering, exotic!!! Will spice up your trough. that's all the schpiel you get). First come, first served!

Lala Jane, do you still have any of your Coneflowers - Twilight, Sundown, Harvest Moon, and Green Wizard?
Thanks
Dumb question here - how do I post a link to the PF on each posting on my list or on here? I thought I saw something about it somewhere, but I cannot find it. My brain is all seedy. Thanks
Pereniallyme - tag one of your tricyrtis miyazaki for me please - I have a moist shady area where I have a hard time getting anything to grow.....sounds like these might work!
~chele
Oink Oink, Perennial, May I have a few seeds of yor miyazaki? Thank you.
Hi Lynn,
All you have to do is open the pf for the plant you want to link, then copy and paste the http address right into your post. It will look different on your post before you send it than it does when it read it in the thread. This works for any http address (located at the top of your screen), not just plant files.
Try it, you'll like it!
Tonya
Chele and Lynn, the tricyrtis is on its way to your troughs.
Thanks nb, I will try it .
Thanks perennial.
perennial Please some toad lily seeds Oink

This is a test for link of Stipa Pony Tails
Thanks
They're yours, gardengus, and that's the last of them until I see if any more pods will open in this frigid weather.
That worked great. Now to try it on my list.
If I want to put a picture of my plant on the list instead (because I don't know exactly what it is,) how do I do that?
Gen:
Your story about deer hunting reminded me of the time when I was a very small girl. My Grandpa went out deer hunting, which we all looked forward to loving the venison as we do. He returned from this particular hunting trip and hung and dressed out the "kill" in the garage from the rafters. He forgot to mention it to my Grandma, who about had a heart attack when she saw a dressed out adolescent bear hanging from the rafters (they kind of look like people when the skin comes off). Grandpa told me he felt real bad about the bear, that the person he'd gone hunting with had "accidentally" shot him. Grandpa wouldn't leave bear wounded nor would he disrespect the bear and allow his sacrifice to be wasted. Bear doesn't taste bad, but venison tastes better.
I am trying to keep up with you oinkers, and have some pictures to share of my new additions.
Will upload from camera now.

Lynn.... what do you mean "on the list"?
you want to add one of your photos to the PF page of said plant, or add the image to your "wants" list?
you can't add it in your wants like, but you can add it to a new post.
Wow - I bet that was a shocker !! She probably wondered if it was his hunting partner.... LOL Thankfully, we don't have bear here (well a few black bear but they are rarely seen)..... or my daughter would probably never go out of the house!!
I have never heard of anyone eating bear.... but I am sure if my Dad had ever had one killed on a hunting trip that we would have had to try it too.... we were taught if you killed it, you better plan on eating it... ^_^
In fact, because we eat venison so rarely at our house, I told my son that he would not be able to kill another one unless it was a monster buck! Of if we found a family that needed and wanted the meat - only then could he kill another one because I didn't want lots of excess venison.. I love it, but I have to fix 2 meals when I fix it since my husband and daughter want nothing to do with it. Go figure, my husband has ordered EXPENSIVE elk in restaurants in Colorado before, but says he can taste the "wild" flavor in venison..... LOL ....

tcs, I wanted to add it to my Haves on the Seed Trading List so everyone could see what they are getting. For instance, the St John's Wart, I have the seeds on my list, but I have no clue which species it is.
Thanks
Lynn -- you cant add the photo to your haves list... but you can add that link ... that's about the best you can do.
but say you wanted to "Pimp" a seed... .do a separate post in here, and add an image at the bottom.
like gardengus just did for the cherry bomb.
I do believe once a post is final, you can not 'edit' a photo in.

Thanks for all the help. I learn something new everyday. Who said you can't teach an old piggy new tricks?!
I will be adding ornamental gourd seed to my "needs a new home" list today. These have already started drying so you may not see the vivid colors. Seed I will be sending has already dried. As always, please dmail me to be sure I send you some seed if you like this kind. PIMP!
These are fun to watch growing, but not useful in crafts. Just pretty.
That is cute.... do you put the whole ear in the microwave? Looks like a nice decorative piece for fall decorations as well......
Genna
Very decorative. Here is a side view of the Strawberry Popcorn. (Pimp, Pimp) I've left it on the cob and taken it off too. It's fun to show the kids when you pop it on the cob. For eating it's best to remove it from the cob and place the kernals in a (top folded down) paper bag before placing in the microwave.
How tall does the ornamental corn get-I saw it on your list but don't have a ton of room...
Fairy, I was wondering the same thing...... My girls would love that "Pink" strawberry corn.......hmmmmm
Fairy Friend:
The regular one is just like the sweet eating corn in size and plant spacing. The mini's (Indian and Strawberry Popcorn) don't get that tall (about 3'-4' tall, but still need about as much space between plants to be happy growing. Hope this helps!

Ok, SingingWolf - you sold me on the strawberry popcorn. That will be a fun one to add! Oinking!
Nice photos SingingWolf, I was wondering if on the ginseng you sent out a piece of the root or actual seeds :)
I just went out and picked some asters, it is cold and dry and they were still hanging on. I am adding: New England Aster, A. novae anglea (it is butterfly friendly, I believe US native and it grows 3-4 ft.). And, I believe Smooth Aster, Symphotrichum laevis “bluebird”
This is the taller New England Aster, it is a deeper purple in comparison and the petals are thinner and more tightly spaced
It's a fun plant for kids to grow. Just make sure they check often for bugs! They can ruin your whole day. Do you want me to send the whole thing, Cob included, so they can see it before you can have them shuck the corn for the seed? ; ) It would be fun to pass along that tradition! LOL! Your thumbs get sore if you do a lot of corn shucking at once. They might gain a better appreciation for the process this way, though. Let me know!
WIB,
SW
If you have enough to send a whole cobb, sure - just trying to save your thumbs. :-)
Wind - that's BEAUTIFUL! :-) Ya'll stop showing me pictures!! Who can pass up a beautiful flower?
SW - what is WIB? I know quite of bit of "texting" shorthand, but this one is new for me. :-)
Thanks Wind,
I promised myself a photo safari today as a treat, and I needed to take pictures of these things anyway. It was fun.
Now your asters are really gorgeous, can I have one of each. I'll dmail you too.
Oinks!

That's because I'm too lazy to type out the blessing, Walk In Beauty, each time. I use it to remind me to stay in balance with Mother Earth and all her creations. The Blessing is Dinee' or Navajo. I borrowed it, because well, it's a lovely sentiment and blessing both.
Walk In Beauty chele!

Singing-how much space do they need?? I have never grown corn??
Wind-I WOULD LOVE your asters!!! Pretty please:)
SW......well then - thanks for sharing. I would have never figured that out. :-)
Wind - I forgot to say please, me too. Waving my curly pink tail at you!
Fairy.......I'm going to the game tomorrow. :-)
