Congratulations to the winners of the 2008 photo contest!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Thank you Dave and Admin for running the contest!

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Well, I picked myself up from Dutchlady's GOBSMACKED (is that Dutch?) and then got to Victor. Lawdy, Victor, honey, you need some help.

How fun!

Congrats to all, I think I held my votes till the midnight hour last night, then panicked because I wondered if my timing was wrong because I am on CST....but not...I loved seeing those photos that I mulled over for so long.

Beautiful shots, folks, sorry, Victor. Hug the boys for me.

Sharon - just for you....

http://www.worldwidewords.org/qa/qa-gob1.htm

Victor, make sure you have enough medication to cover you for the year :-))
That was VERY funny....

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Thanks Hetty, I didn't have a clue. Interesting information, you can tell how far I venture from KY.
I am still reeling over Victor's story. And his poor boys have to live with this. Daily.

Still, excellent photos all.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Excellent photo's. it was hard to choose, but I know there are a lot of talented photographers here on DG!! keep up the great work.
Linda Kay

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Victor, you need to start lying to your kids. ;o) Run down to the corner drugstore with 12 photos saved to disc and some DG logos. In a matter of days, you'll have a couple trophies to hand to your kids. They will be so proud. hee, hee.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee - thanks. I think I may just tell them my DG name is Songs of Joy or bebop2.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

You do sing all the time right?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, and I bop while singing.

Fleming Island, FL(Zone 9a)

I am amazed that there are so many talented photographers in our midst. I couldn't choose between most of them. Some were more than AWESOME. I think the coffee table book would be a fantastic idea..................

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

And there have been boys named Sue right?

Van Etten, NY(Zone 5a)

Victor, I would be honored to share a name with you!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, Sue, and that's what I can sing! Thanks bop! Congratulations on your great shots.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Victor:
Thanks for the best laugh I've had all day. We've got wildfires and earthquakes hitting us today and the laugh was appreciated. Kids do need to deal with disappointment, even us big ones. : )
Think of the positive things you did teach the kids so far. First, if you don't enter you can't win. Second, the suspense is half the fun. Third, the other half is sharing your wonderful photos with others. Winning is just the icing on the cake.
Personally, I wept because I couldn't pick them all.
Everyone who entered a photo is an inspiration to me. Thank you all!
Dave, as always thanks for making it all possible.

I'm amazed at the quality of the photos this year. I can't believe I was among them. Just had to be that hypnosis thing Victor taught me.

New Hampshire, NH(Zone 5b)

Looking at all the wonderful photos was like a delicious treat. They are all wonderful. Everyone deserves a star!

Edited to add: Victor you're a hoot.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Quoting:

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Victor, you are too much!
But that's why we love you. I absolutely love your winter photo ... it speaks volumes to me, personally.

Cape May Court House, NJ(Zone 7a)

LOL Victor!!!!!

Sue would you please get Dave to send your calender to Victor's POOR kids (who just found out about santa) for show and tell!!!! LOL

Great pics everyone and you too Victor!!!!! (i am sure I voted for you)

sue

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

No worries ruby42 it's a Victor ruse. Everyone knows that Santa is real. Unfortunately for Victor he just made the 'naughty' list with the 'guilt by kidlings' ploy so all hope is lost for that poor man. It's a very sad thing. It's not even Turkey Day and already he's hooped with Santa. I think there is a lesson that we all could learn here.

Yayyy!
Martha

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

O not luck bebop. Yours pics were awesome. I was smitten. I'm sure hope the rest of us keep 'clicking' til we can make such entries. The most important thing I think is keep 'clicking' one and all.

Blenheim, New Zealand

Great contest, stunning winning pics, congratulations too everyone.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

all pictures were absolutely fantastic. i'm already looking forward to see what next years' contest holds for us to see.

ROFLOL at Victors "swan song." I think that should be put as an epilogue of sorts at the back of the calendar.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee - thanks all. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks Shelly, but the calender is for the well-deserved winning photos - not for my silliness!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Victor, you are hysterical.

Great photos, everyone. Congratulations to all those who entered photos and double congratulations to the winners.

Pass Christian, MS(Zone 8b)

Thanks for all the kind words and to all those that took the time to review the photo's and vote! I was so impressed with all the entries it was hard to keep moving through them, lots of Wows! It is very special to me that one of my photo's was chosen, its the first time I have ever entered a photo contest. Wonderful people at Daves Garden, I am always entertained and inspired here.
Also thanks to Dave and his staff for all the work to put this together.

As for Victor - DG would not be the same without you! With a name like Victor, one would think you would have had enough of winning...tee hee.Hugs to the little Victor's.

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

I don't know what my problem is but I have tried three times to look at the winning garden photos. Still have seen only two. Shows the transferring data line, I wait more than 5 min. and not picture comes up. I tried several of the categories, but only after some time did get to see the winning annual photo, and I think most of the winning perennial.

Donna

(Cissy) San Jose, CA(Zone 9b)

Congratulations everyone!! I enjoyed looking at all the winners and runner-ups. This community is soooo talented!!! :D

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Agreed pics were incredible!!! Hey Dave any chance of a macro category for next year????

Definitely a good chance of it. Make sure to bring it up when we start the planning next October!

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

I love macro!!!! BEV

Tri-Cities, WA(Zone 7b)

I think my wife is more excited than I am. ^_^
Looks like we're buying a calendar or two this year. ("As long as they put something pretty in for August," she says. But since they're all so pretty I don't think that'll be a problem. Well, maybe with the exception of that lightening one. I don't know what that has to do with gardening. ^_^)

tropicalaria, as a winner, you will be receiving a free calendar from me. :)

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

gardenerkett, who is the lovely child in your photo? what a beautiful picture!

rutholive, I'm not sure why you're having trouble pulling up the photos. maybe you were trying to look at them at a time where a lot of other people were too, and the traffic was slowing the site down? maybe you could try again at a later time?
