I'm not too fond of starlings, they are a big nuisence in the city in the fall, worse than pigeons
They do look cool when they are flocking in the countryside over the fields.

Thats cool Jen

I've never seen Robins in the winter before I moved here

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Yeah, I waited till they were gone to fill my feeders.

When they were real high up they looked like a swarm of bugs.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

JoAnn, you just painted that??? Awesome!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

We have a small flock of "winter Robins" here, they stay near the lake where its warmer. They eat the berries from the bittersweet trees.
I dont count them as real robins like the ones that migrate and are seen here in March.
Same with Geese

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I just wanted to see if I could paint the drops.
It did turn out pretty good.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

It turned out great!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Great pics, Shelly. Love the schizostylus!!!

JoAnn, WOW!!!!! I would say you did a great job on the drops. Love it.

Keeps me off the streets

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Thanks all. water is pretty much what I have going on right now. so pictures with water makes sense!

lol, whatever works for you to keep you off the streets! that's great. I'm still amazed that you painted that picture so fast. I replied more about it in your dmail.

Jen I love the squirrel and birds are great. But I love that squirrel, he has a great look on his face after having finished the PB&J.

Karen, you right. It does look like a rock in the thumbnail! I didn't notice that until you said it. Interesting.

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Shelly, as always, the photos are great. I know this is sounding like a canta, but who can pick a favorite? You have a remarkable talent.

And speaking of talent, JoAnn, well, not only is your work good, but your discipline is admirable. I have seen you post about putting photos aside for future paintings. There is probably a good deal of talent out there, but how many of us follow through. You are making me feel guilty (read that is being inspirational).

Jen, is there a squirrel shortage up there? Yours does have a smile. Mine are very unhappy between the guns and sling shots. PB&J? I make fresh PB and the J is from strawberries, plums, figs, and blackberries in the garden. No squirrel that is not intended for a plate is snacking on that!

Hi, folks. I've been finishing up fall planting and checking in on this forum but haven't had any photos to post.
ge1836, I love your painting. Great work on the droplets. These pictures were taken on Monday. We had a killing frost on Tuesday so they are gone now.

This Dahlia I had cut down but it managed to send up more buds and bloom again before the frost nipped it.

This Tuberose 'The Pearl' was planted in Spring. Only one bud opened before the frost got to it but the fragrance was lovely.

Holy Moly Dyane, beautiful! That was eye candy I tell ya!! It's all pretty much brown here now and no leaves on the trees, bare.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thank you for the color is what I was trying to say. lol

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I have 3 that regularly visit and that's enough for me. I tried to feed the blue jays with the leftover PB & J(just skippy and polander's) but the squirrel beat them to it.
I just bought a squirrel buster feeder http://www.squirrelbuster.biz/squirrelbusterplus.htm
so hopefully that will keep them away from the bird seed.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Nice Dyane, how's the baby?

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Cute squirrel, Jen. Just wish they weren't such a pain.

JoAnn, that little painting of yours is fantastic! You sure have a lot of talent for that.

Dyane, great photos. Hey, I could use some help raking. And weeding, and brush cutting, and mowing, and.........

Karen

Glad to add some color to the Forum. The flowers are gone but there is still some color in the shrubs. What a difference a night can make.
The baby is so great she's such a happy little girl, I get the biggest smiles from her every day. She'll help to keep things bright this winter over here.
