Sister drove up to Ithaca from Croton on Hudson yesterday, said it was hellish, heavy rain, dense fog all the way.
Todays Weather in Your Garden - 33
Mostly sunny, windy and 45. Snow - oh no!
Forecast highs in the 30's here for the entire week! And chance of snow showers too. Ugh!
Edited to add that I ended up with 2 inches of rain. Not bad.

crazy crazy weather!!!!
Almost 70 yesterday, down to 50 today.
Very windy and rainy all night
Raw and nasty out!
Bits of blue and sun, more wind, and colder, but the rain has stopped and DH has just taken the dogs to the beach of a run. I am staying home and pounding out tags for our bulbs.
Goodmorning 33* with snow in the forcast
a low of 26 tonight.
33 out now.... buuurrrr.... going up to 45... clear.... glad I am not in the areas with snow predicted... we might just get a snow shower later this week
I doubt there will be anydramatic amounts.
The ground is still too warm.
Snow forcasts in late January are the ones that are horrible.
We can have stormes that leave 12-14 inches and where Willi lives it can measure several feet.
Thats when I really hunker-down and dont go anywhere.
I'll just sit at my computer and look at the garden pics I took in June.
29 and sunny.
34 here too, but this is more the norm.
Wow Victor, your colder than me.
DH is putting snow tires on my car right now, mostly because I started hearing a noise, and he thinks it's a bad tire. If I don't hear it with the snows, then that was it. And I'm meeting my niece at the Fingerlakes outlet today. I don't think we'll get the amount of snow previously predicted.
Its going to be a sunny day with Lake Effect snow showers
How much was predicted, Deb?
It was almost 70 just two days ago! Today will be the 'warmest' day of the week - at 42! Brrr.
Victor Snow wont amount to much more than heavy showers, lakeeffect can get blinding while its happening, then it stops or you drive out of it.
46 and sunny but with some low dark clouds hanging over the harbor, clear towards the mainland. I assume we will be having some showers later. Patti
Brrrrrr Wednesday looks like it might be sunny. 10"+ of lake effect snow in the "Southern Tier," Ellicottville, et al., already. None here.
Sunrise: 7:10

Originally 4-6 inches, then they changed it to snow showers.
Predicting the winter weather here is pretty much a "Hold and roll" proposition.
It's actually kinda nice out. Just a little breeze and the sun is out. 44- I like the chill in the air.
Nice here too, sunny, and crisp. Fluffy clouds, harbor a deep blue, not much wind, gusts to 15, 45 from a high of 48.
I cleaned off the rest of the junk on the porch, so I have a clean slate. I needed the clean space to get all the bulbs out of the guest room that are now divided into bags via beds. Next I need to lay them out on the porch and match the bulbs with the labels that I have just about got all printed. This way the planting will go quickly, assemble line. We will do one whole bed at a time. If we start tomorrow and work diligently through Thursday my DH and I ought to get it done, if the weather hold. Patti
Good luck Patti.
Had a few flurries, and some big soft flakes falling right now.
Its pretty huh Deb.
Looks fake
I've been sweeping & pulling up annuals as they get ratty. Most of the leaves are off the nearby trees.
I'm hoping we'll have a frost this week - I haven't had one yet, so I can dig up the dahlias & bring the tuber rose, cannas, etc over to Mom's basement.
I want to get everything done before next Wednesday when we (Mom & I) go to VA for Thanksgiving.
Here's how things looked on Saturday. What a mess!
Nancy
Hi Nancy! I see that and marvel at your patience for watering!
Forecast low for overnight Wed into Thu is 22!
It was nicer than I expected today---43, partly sunny, a few snow flurries--now it is clearing, so a real cold night! Too early for this weather!
gagaboo! do you have earlier pics of all that in bloom?
WOW what a great job.
We stayed up last night to watch "Jeff Dunham". After the show, we sat out on the indoor porch and saw light, fluffy snowflakes falling down from the midnight sky.
I glared at the snowflakes and said ... 'Stop! I keel you!', in my best Achmed the Dead Terrorist voice. Anna about fell on the floor laughing.
Oh ... it's 28 degrees outside right now.
Too funny Candyce, I watched it too!! I own the other 2 tapes already so I may have to get this one also.
24, could get 3-5 inches of lake effect snow today
I love that picture JoAnn, and the Hot Tub!!!! i don't love the snow though. I'm sorry that your getting the silly stuff already, that is of course if you don't love it. I you really love the stuff, then i'm happy that it's snowing over there and not over here :-p
We are due for about three inches today.
It will get everyone in the holiday mood and drivers will have forgotten to ajust their speeds from summer.
Always good for the repair and body shopes
