I rarely venture into any other forums now except Miss Betty's to let my hair down. I find comfort here and in Miss Bettys threads. If I go elsewhere, I stay on topic and just get the information I went for. Besides, that's what we should do, Discussion and Chat forums are the places you can talk about anything. Other forums are specifically designed for the topic at hand. Our Dave's Garden is For Gardeners By Gardeners and anywhere else detailing with plants should only be focused on the that perticular topic.

Thank you for your kind words, BJ. I love you too. Joyce, Kathy all of you.
Tina, can you post a picture of each type of chicken you have? I don't know what a jersey giant looks like. Staceypoo, cover your feet when she posts the pictures. LOL
Tina, explain barnyard special?
barnyard special is a mutt. a cross. Uploading pics now, but not sure I can post every breed I have, I have like 30 different kinds of chickens.
The turkey is on the roof, right? Who is the sweet little boy? Is that Punk boy? How do you keep a prized rooster off a mutt hen?
Sorry to have stirred up a hornet's nest with the problem on the quilting thread. Being new to DG I shared my concerns with Tink (my DIL) and she saw right to the heart of the matter.
I have been amazed and humbled by the thoughtfulness and generosity you sistahs have shown to each other. I have had no hesitation in jumping into any of the requests you have made to help others here with anything from birthday gifts, sewing machines, or socks, knowing that they were going where you said they were going.
However, here is someone who deliberately hide behind another's identity. Since that thread is open to non-subscribers she could have posted as herself but she didn't. She is not a young and inexperienced person, nor an uneducated one; she knew what she was doing. The fact that we got our quilt blocks or towels from her is of minor importance to me. She LIED! Since she has in no way apologized for what she did; she just throw the other lady under the bus! I have no faith or trust in her and will not be inviting her to join us when I host the black and white quilt swap after the 1st of the year.
Sorry to be so nasty but I that is the way I feel.
When you are on-line and from a distance trust in what we say and to whom we say it is so very important and I don't want anyone to mess with what goodness we got going here.
Yes that is one turkey on the top the other is Punk Boy. yes that is Dylan.
When it is time to have good breeding eggs, I will separate the chickens to their specific breeds. Right now it a all for one. I have probably 30 or so roosters. They are all gonna be THINNED out and into the freezer or to the auction.
Tee hee-good morning mother;)
No dont be sorry Janice, I totally understand what you are saying and how you feel. I actually went thur this exact thing with another DG'er in person. I invited her to stay at my house and then she crapped out and now I am the worst person ever. She has said I stole from her, was mean to her Killed HER chickens. anyway, I was a bit bent to see that with that particular swap. I agree she could have fronted herself from the very beginning, and also, the person she used the ID should have pipped in.
Morning, sweetness...ready for a road trip to Betty's? Next year, right?
Gonna get your pants hemmed today.
WOOHOO!!! Pants!!-I think the workers are getting sick of my bloomers;) They are pretty too though;)
Hello Everyone
Kathy sent me a message and invited me over to say hello. I didnt even know this general chat forum was here.. :)
I normally chat on the florida forum with my local gardening buddies and never really got to looking around to much until recently.
I love the pics of all the chickens.. My neighbor has a few butthe city is trying to make them get rid of them. I planned on getting a few for fresh eggs until I found outthat we werent allowed. Crazy you would think as long as you have the room and know how to take care of them you should be able too.
Well I need to get back out and do some work in the garden before the rain sets in potting up some plants but I will check back in around lunch..
Donna

I just love you 2's relationship. I was in Hancocks yesterday and this lady that was in her 80's or so was just hollering to everyone that If she had nto taught her sons to Iron and cook they would have gone nekkid and starved to death because her DIL's dont do it for them, well my mouth said to the young girl that was cutting our fabric........... Do you know the saying........she says no what one........... I said ......... A son is a son until he takes a wife, A daughter is a daughter all her life. This woman shut right up.
WELCOME DONNA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tina-I am confuddled by your post...I don'ta get it or who you were referring to!!LOL
Welcome Donna.
We don't have a ranking order here.. we're all equally 'horizontal'!!! All the same, and same for all!! This room belongs to all sistahs and nieces..yet to gain a brothah!
Only membership requirement is to respect one another, which so far has been carried out effortlessly.
Sistah Deborah (Cordeledawg) has summed us up pretty well in one of her postings..
We have formed a sisterhood where we care about each other, learn about each others lives. Our bond with each includes following the day to day routines, venting those frustrations so sistas can help us cope, as well as helping each other celebrate lifes joys. Some of us post regularly while others pop in from time to time. Irregardless how often, we keep tabs on each other in some way. Some of us know some sistahs a little better than some but that's ok too. We develop close friendship from interacting either my posting here, phone, d-mail, e-mail or cards, and also get togethers when and where possible.
Welcome again Donna C.
I wuv you Jaye. Well done.
Couldn't have said it any better myself!
Welcome to the group of the Sistah hood!!!
LK
Okay, I am me!! Atleast I think I am will check and let you know for sure!!!
Welcome Donna, I am about 3 hurs west of you outside of Tallahassee. Good to have another Florida gal on here to keep everyone straight!! They need it from time to time. Stay with us--don't get lost.
Yeap, I checked I am me for sure. About the "thing" on the quilting site. She has been in 2 swaps I have participated in, blocks come in very early, well made AND being the devil's advocate---the person willing let her (and apparently other so was stated) use her sign it on the site so the blame needs to be spread around!! I was surprised Admin. didn't have something to say and maybe they did and we just don't know about it. It was extremely confusing for a while but has been sorted out. So life goes on.
Janice, I definitely want in your B&W swap when you start if so if I miss the sign up remember to get in touch. Brain gets foggy come January. Love all the fabrics you and Jaye have swapped.
Deborah, dear I haven't forgotten your fat quarters--need your colors again. Would let me know what they are? Please Sistah?
Oh, BTW, I am home also. Got home about 12 ish, exhausted but a great meeting. Can't wait until our website is active so I can show it to all. Than you get an idea why I travel back and forth and love it!!!!
Phyllis, been thinking--I just have to make a pair of those slippers for sister for Christmas. Yeap, that is what she needs for sure. Enjoy your weekend.
Tinky, yeap I am Auntie Em!!
Kathy, how nice to hear your voice a few minutes ago. GET TO THE DOCTOR!!!!! NOW!!! We need you well and not in pain. You too BJ.
Oh my eggs, Tia, Tina Whatever. Nice!!! Give Punk Boy a hug for me!!
Well need to get busy and get something done. Pizza party tonight with GDS and am I ever counting the hours--2 weeks makes Granma anxious!!!!
Speaking of Lurking, LOL...

Marion, for the fat quarter colors, I like browns, olive greens, royal blues, rust, burgandy.
Thanks Deborah, I could remember the burgundy and royal blue but the others I wasn't sure about. Oh will have ready soon!!!
Judy, might get to have a fire in the fireplace next week--oh the flickering of the fire off the beautiful centerpiece will be so wonderful!!!
Hi Donna, I'm Joyce, but some also know me as Cookie. Put your feet up and sit a spell. You're most welcome here.
