Sophie Update:
Sophie has been with us 2 weeks tomorrow and we are very thankful she lived. I took the first photo of her with the 6oz juice can and did another today with the same size can. The results are amazing as you can see for yourself!
Now/Then
New addition......
Amazing how the can has shrunk! Congrats to you guys and Sophie - great job!
Can shrunk..hee hee good one. Is it OK to think our TLC made it shrink?
It is a different color can........ you know the can color (just like the camera for us ladies) adds ten pounds HeeHee
Really, it is amazing how the precious little furball has grown in such a short time. Do you think that it has something to do with Brian always stuffing her little face and spoiling her to within an inch of her life?
Um, yup. He holds her stringbean for her while she eats it, but she'll also stand on her hind legs for him and 'beg' for it. lol

She sure has grown. She's as cute as ever, and lucky to have you guys.
Karen
So, it was you that taught the grocery stores to shrink the size of their cans. LOL. Little Sophie is just adorable.
Jan
awwwww, I was sent here from the pets forum.
That is just so cute!!! What a precious little thing.
Susan
=^..^=
Thanks Susan! She's really been a joy to have and seems to like it here too!! lol
Take a photo of her Christmas outfit, Pixie--can't wait to see what you come up with!
Yeah, Celeste, I'm dying to see that cute bunny in her Christmas outfit!
Karen
Do we know for sure she's a she?
I don't, but she has a girl's name, so she's a "she" to me, rather than calling her an "it".
Karen
LOL!
Hi, I also came over from the Pets Forum. What a precious bunny. Thanks for sharing Sophie's Story with us. She is absolutely adorable. Love the kitty, too.
I know nothing about bunnies, but her fur looks sort of ruffled and fringe-like to me. Could this indicate a particular breed?
Bonnie
Wow..Sophie is turning out to be popular little bunny. Now I feel obligated to buy her the Ruby necklace so she can live up to her fame. lol
Thanks for stopping in Bonnie, it was my pleasure to share her story. We have all been hoping/praying for a good out come and we've been blessed so far. The cat is Romeo and he is very tolerable of the bunny. So are the 4 dogs considering they would like nothing more than to 'play' with her! lol
Sophie did not like all the noise in the house Thanksgiving day and didn't eat very well that day. She seems fine now and is eating great again. She seems to love fresh greenbeans the best! ^_^
Good morning...Sophie and I spent quiet quality time having breakfast and playing. She likes her greenbeans and celery for breakfast then washed up like a good girl. I think she feels the need to clean me to after she eats as she preens me too. I looked in the mirror(big mistake) and know now why she was preening me!
If she see's what I saw....im surprised she's not afraid of me!! LOL
When she is done eating and preening she likes to cuddle up in my neck, no pictures of that....im not that talented.

My she has changed, becomming a big bunny.
WOW! she is growing so fast. She is so sweet.
I still like the idea of the rubie collar and bows for Christmas! I make dog coats...I wonder if I could make a bunny coat? Hmmmmmm!
She is great!
Yes, she really is growing fast! Nice to see the world through rose-colored eyes.
Adorable, Celeste! She is growing fast.
Karen

Pauline
Sorry ,Warren is a suburb of Detroit.
Don't be sorry Pauline..your Northeast of somewhere and thats all that counts on this forum. We Welcome everyone here and Sophie is glad you stopped by too!
I am headed into town today and we will see what the 'City' has to offer Sophie in terms of Royal Robes. lol
I hate sewing....never liked it! I like sowing ......but not sewing.
um pixie I was reviewing Sophie's dramatic growth rate and I wonder, do you think she might have some jackalope genes? She is getting big really fast! This could be you next summer :O http://www.jackalope.com/GRAPHICS/jackalope_rider.jpg
I needed a new ride. ^_^
Okay, you had me going for a minute. I was ready to get out the saddle soap. You folks are very bad.
Laurel
I wandered over here from the African Violets thread, and I posted my newly aquired bunny on the pets thread about a month ago. The story of Sophie is the greatest...held my breath through the whole thread! I think my Columbus wants to meet your Sophie....when she's old enough to date of course! http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/919705/

LOL! Cute, Dahlianut!
Phoebe, I just read part of your thread about Columbus. He's adorable. My sister and niece have had rabbits here, too. Very cute. I also love Guinea pigs, and rats make great pets, too.
Karen
Phoebe, I have never seen a himalyan lionhead rabbit, LOVE his hair! I just read a little on the breed and see they don't get real big. I'm not sure how big Sophie will get as I have no idea of her breed.
I had a Satin Dwarf Rex mix named Annie for about 6 years....she was already 2 1/2 when she was given to me. She died about 3-4 years ago and I said no more rabbits!... I was heartbroken.
Then laying out in the woodline with her eyes closed was Sophie, all alone and shivering and, well....you know the rest of the story!
I agree, Columbus and Sophie would make a beautiful pair!!
For those of you who don't realize it, rabbits have many different breeds just as cats and dogs do. It's very intersting, I find myself walking through the bunny cages at country fairs and seeing how many I can identify correctly. I'm not very good at!! lol

Thanks phoebesviolets for linking us from the AV forum to this great story! I've really enjoyed reading about Sophie and her family!
Pixie62560: Your little Sophie is adorable! You are an angel for rescuing that cute little bunny and I know she will make a wonderful addition to your family! I don't know much about rabbits but I know some pet rabbits live a long time. When my niece was @ 6 years old my husband won her a baby bunny at a county fair. She named it "Floppy" because of one ear that flopped over (never did stand up). That bunny lived in the house with the family and got along well with the cat and dog too. For a long time they would let it run around loose in the backyard until an owl almost got it. Then her dad built a large rabbit hutch and put it on the back porch. Floppy never got to roam free in the yard again unless someone was outside with him. He lived a long time, my niece was almost 18 I think, when he finally passed.
I have a feeling Sophie will be staying at your house and not go to your DD! Just think how heartbroken your DH and Romeo would be since they've become so attached! ^_^
I hope you will keep this thread open with updates and photo's of your sweet Sophie!
... oh, and I hope you don't mind someone from the SE popping into the NE gardening area! LOL.
Have a great day everyone ... stay warm! Brrrr ... I may be in Florida but we had 37 degrees here last night! Cold! It's only warmed up to 46 now but should continue the warming trend. Supposed to be back to mid 70's daytime and mid 50's nighttime temp's beginning tomorrow.
Lin
