Bonnie.... you should see your Versi Peach she is so happy!! oh yeal, the stink bug is on his back looking at me here on the table.. I found another chomper eating all my leaves in the other room.. a little green worm, he ate almost a whole leave on my brug from the back yard.. been cutting and cleaning the dirt and branches from everything and got my neem oil have no clue what to do with it tho.. I squished that worm no problemo, plummer still isn't here I am trapped at home oh no! Duke dog snoring and me I am playing in the dirt again wanting to re-arrange, need to go to lowes for cement bricks and boards,, *sigh* I need to do alot of things, just passing time until I can go see my GS, Chevy Lee, and have fun with the two older daughters tonight.. Oh! I have alot of red cherry tomatoes growing down here and lots of blooms..

Debra I'm drying out a few of those lil pear tomatoes you brought.. they taste fine, but I want them for the effect the clusters of them will have in the garden.. just so cute! That Neem may leave a sticky residue... I only use it inside IF it's a last resort...(aphids on Maya last year, started migrating to my EE's)... I think it was the Neem made everything sticky.. but helped with the aphids.. I was trying all known and some unknown forms of artillery.. yes, it was war I tell you.. Kind of a double exposure here... Antique Lace X Peach Versi pod and Pink Smitty's 1st.. Awwe, ain't he a pretty pink?? Well he will be... Wolfie LOOK, another pink bloom! ;)

But I won't get my hopes up too high.. : (
But on a brighter note she has 3 Y's so my chances are pretty good that eventually I'll get some...

Just talked to my DD and in abt an hour i'm going to see my little angel
Just as soon as she wakes up from her nap... : )

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

YAY.... Phyllis... now tell me everything you did so maybe I can have one too..lol.. Congrats!! Lucky you getting Arianna.. have fun
Debra... how I wish I had a home grown tomato about right now..LOL... to all the "bugs" going to bug heaven
Bonnie... soooo pretty... I have a few buds now on other brugs. I am amazed at how fast they Y and then set buds... if you're not looking you'll miss it

Lissa, I’ve never done a moon garden, so I can’t be much help. There is triple white Datura too.

Debra, you must have a great set up in your basement to grow tomatoes and have them ripen.

Bonnie, I’m really liking Pink Smitty, is he one of the shorter ones, like 5’or under.

Phyllis have a great time with that little one.

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

On Oct 20th I put them in a styrofoam cup of MG soil.. (So they take awhile to germinate...)
and I set them in a sunny location and gently water them with MG every moring and night...
That's it....
I think I planted 6 and so far thats the only one to start popping it's head up...

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Way to go Phyllis, she should be beautiful when she grows up.

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

Hey Bonnie was reading a thread about cots...she was counting 1 cot 2 cots...3 cots and so on...
I'm assuming cots are the leaves when she first opens up from the seed..?? does it matter how many??
Can you explain this to us newbies who are trying seeds??

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

donna: it is an unfinished basement that used to be finished.. it has tile floor and part panled.. very similar to bonnies.. 1900 by 1900.. one end is for my computor ( big one) and the other end is my garden..I started the cherry tomatoes in pots and brought them in beofre they set on.. they seem very happy down here..
lucky Phyliis! I want some buds..my peach versi that bonnie gave me has all her leaves and some of her buds fell but not all of them.. hmm..
I want my seeds to do something! I got them from the brug lady that sells themon ebay and nothing is happening!
even my dat seeds are not doing anything.. but the rest? oh my.. Ihave a baby rose of sharon, lots of mgs,3 moonflower vines, 6 chinese bean hiyacynths, some parsely and some chives LOL ( I am getting hungry, whats for lunch?)
Lissa, my moon garden consisted of :
night blooming jessimine, evening scented jasmine, cestrum, four o clocks, moon flower (datura devil) evening showy primrose, and I have some of those seeds I could put in a baggie and mail to you if you want..

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Hello BAs, I'm a day late and definitely a few dollars short. I can't believe it's #36. Wow...Nothing going on here except work. But the mailman brought me four new nursery catalogs yesterday. They sure know how to tempt you when it's dreary outside.

Debra, we brought in tomatoes too this year and so far they like it. Tomato cages don't do much for my kitchen decor, but...oh well. We're stuck in the middle of redo, so might as well bring in the plants.

I'm attaching a picture of the little ornament I'm sending to Anjl for the other DGer's tree. I need some suggestions on what to seal the clay pot with. I found a spray terra cotta sealer but they really want a pretty price for it. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated so I can get this in the mail soon. Thanks! Peg

HEY WAIT YOU BRUG ADDICTS, I NEVER SAID THERE WAS ANYTHING WAS WRONG WITH A PINK ANGEL, ITS JUST THAT ALL I HAVE IS PINK AND I JUST WANT SOME DIFFERENT COLORS. MY FROSTY PINK IS A BEAUTIFUL, ESPECIALY AT NIGHT. I LOVE PINK.

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

FYI- C. Fairy passed me over.... :) Afternoon everyone, I saw Chrissy's cot thread to, I've read about cots before, Phyllis, IF I'm right ... like you plant the seed, then they sprout their "opener leaves", then the cots or the first set(s) of TRUE leaves.. does that make sense? Least that's what I understand them to be.. Chrissy?? you out there? Anyone that knows is welcome to come in and tell us.
(okay Wolfie, knew I'd get ya postin' about the pink) tehe go to the DG PF (plant files) and look at all those blooms and names in there.. figure out which ones you want and then go about finding them from us dg'ers.. we'll help you all we can here on the thread... That's how I chose Tropical Sunset.. I loved the bloom pics in PF and it says right on a page if there are dg'ers wanting or having that certain plant... so I saw good ol Mikey could possibly have some TS available and (MIKE!! WE'RE OVER HERE)... anyway Mike had some and I d-mailed him about trading... it just escalated from there (much to my astonishment ;) .. I ended up with Pink Perfektion, Milk and Honey and my much sought after Tropical Sunset.. (or sunrise- I live in a confused dis-lexic state).. which they are all rooting and putting out leaves very nicely... cute lil ornament up there Peg.

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

Ohhh Wolfie we're just teasing Ya..
I think we kinda figured out that you have lots of pink ones...LOL

Peg.. I used a sealer that I got from an arts supply store that you just brush on when I used to do ceranmic's..
It's like a 2 or 4 oz bottle and it wasn't much more then the paints if not the same price..
I think it came in different finishes...But that was awhile ago...

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Peg, Folkart or one of the others should have a water base bush on clear coat that you can get in a small bottle to make it shiny if it needs it. You don’t want to use that pot sealer stuff, that is something use to seal the pot before you paint it. You only need that if you are going to put a real plant in it.

I love your little watering can, but boy I’m in trouble now.

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Phyllis.. wow she didn't take as long as i would have thought, considering the dats took me so long
Peg... that is sooo cute!! I don't have the answer, but do you have to seal it? I am confused. I need to get me some catalogs started coming so I can drool
wolfie... I'll send you some cuttings in the spring of the named ones I have here. I am sure you will be able to grow them lots better than me anyway..lol

I'ts sooo rainy and nasty here... sometimes going into light thunderstorms.... I hate this kind of weather, cause I don't like to get out in it. If I had a job like some of you girls do, I'd probably just get fired..lol... I am that bad!!

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Wolfie, I’m sure we can help you out but for me it will have to be in spring. All of mine are going dormant in the basement. I do have a couple that are not pink, but now that I think about it most of them are!!! Oh I guess the pink ones are my favorite.

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

Well Wolfie.. I think I will have some whites available when I finally cut them back.. if you don't mind trying some green cuttings. Nothing grew much this year.. no wood. We are not cutting the wood back.. going to bubble wrap the little of that we have. They sure are gnarly looking.. little growth so the leaf scars are really close together. Makes them really knotty looking. I have a NOID White and also a Snow White that came from Gordon Hawk 2 years ago. Here is that one when it bloomed.. very small for in the ground. This was a night shot.. I took it in the dark.. I really could not see a thing when I took the picture.. had to aim and shoot.. hope for the best.

Donna, why would you be in "trouble"? I saw the sealer and thought that I might need to seal it for some reason. Maybe I don't. Good grief. I do some crafts, needlework mainly, but haven't done much else, so I get myself into fixes usually when I try something new. I found the watering can at one of the local craft stores.

Bonnie, that cleaning fairy needs to be shared. Who's house did she get stuck at? I know I need to get on the list badly. Just don't seem to have much energy after work. Keith's work just keeps getting cut back more and more, so I'm trying to work more. No fun, but we're okay. Have you heard from Louise lately?

Got to get some rest before my next shift. Hugs to all. Peg

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I have a white knight that is nubbed and a georgia peach that is nbbed so will send Wolfie those.. Tropicman gave me alot of his y's to bring home so thats where those are coming from.. headed over to DD's and can't wait to see my GS.. yay!
Plummer never came, he finally called an put off till tommorrow evening.. DH is not gonna be happy, glad I am not gonna be home.. ;/
Bonnie.. I lost Pink Perfektion.. it rotted completely away.. sorry.. but the rest are just fine.. {{{{{{hugs all }}}}}}
cya~

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Whoops Peg, I should have been clearer. I made her the same little watering can. The painted design is different but it’s the same one.

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Oh, Donna. LOL! That's okay, no gardener has enough watering cans.

Back to work now. Peg

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Donna... I hear you.. kinda making me rethink what I am doing on the ornaments..lol
Peg... IF that lil can is bisque.. meaning no glaze is on the outside.. no liquid sealer will be able to stick because the piece is porous. You would actually have to paint the thing first, and then it would have something for the sealer to adhere to. Hope that helps and is not too confusing. I still don't know why you would need to seal it. "Bisque" item

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Opps.. sorry... this was a old post, and thought i was through...lol A Bisque item doesn't need to be sealed...LOL

I have re-opened the co-op forum and you are welcome to continue using it under the rules we have had in place.

We (admins and the membership at large) are obviously still working out what the long term solution will be to co-ops but in the meantime, by all means, continue to enjoy your use of the feature.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

That's good news for those of you whose really use the coops...at least he is willing to give it a trial run to see if it's any better. I've never bought from one myself, just prefer to buy what little I do get locally, and alot of the coop stuff is neat but not something I really need to spend the money on...

Hope everyone is doing well tonight, it has rained cats and dogs here all day, dark and muggy. Just got through wiping up doggie tinkle as my little princesses hate to get their feet wet and come to a dead stop when I open the door to let them out, LOL! Spoiled little girls!

I've been busy buying seeds and getting ready to try my hand at germination ^_^ I was wondering....exactly how long do you have to leave on heat pad with high light after they begin sprouting? I have one table set up under a grow light but it will only hold 4 flats. I was wondering if I could grow the seeds to a certain level, then move them off the table and germinate more.....I told Becky I also have a couple of those old timey shop lights, the silver kind with 1 regular light bulb in it...Wonder if I could put some flats on the floor and place these over them to do more at one time?

Carrollton, TX(Zone 8a)

It was a co-op that brought me here - I bought Mountain Magic - 2 Pink Velvet - and Melon kisses - I posted on the brug forum for help - I was directed here (they didn't want to be bothered with me) - and you made me feel welcome - so I stayed -Guess that's why I got so upset when I felt y'all were misjudged and treated poorly - I'm nothing if not loyal

I bought a datura at a local nursery and was so impressed by its performance - I dared to try - but I probably wouldn't have if they weren't so cheap - Since then I've hosted a co-op - and am totally hooked - been busy on the co-op fix and alt threads - and very appreciative for Dave allowing us another chance - and will do what I can to help make it work

Karen - I need to buy a light - hehe - I still have plants to pot and put in the ground from the RU- guess seeds had better wait

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Good evening all, so coops are open??? for the good or bad, what can I say?

Hi Karen, what r u up to?? Tuesday's are slow anyway. Finished dinner early and now time to get here and chat a little. Nice that you have a little heaven of yours and to get seeds to start shooting up! I have my own bruggie heaven cutting place. Most of them are doing nice, I hope they make it through the winter!

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

hi kitty cross posted!

Carrollton, TX(Zone 8a)

Hi Clem - I think it will be for the good - there has been a lot of input and communication to work this out - I think the majority of us care enough to help make it work and relieve Dave of some of the stress
