Don't worry, be happy!

Marymac,

Miners Claim is a slow grower, a fact that is noted in it's Patent application. I've had Miners Claim for 3 years and have probably had a total of 15 blooms in those 3 years and we have a longer bloom season than West Virginia. Have you looked at Jamie or Maya? They have nice variegation patterns and are hardier. Because Miners Claim is patented, you're not supposed to reproduce it without a license. I've heard that many have tried, for their own use, but it's not an easy rooting brug either. I would have dumped it after the first year, but my husband likes the variegation.

Morning all.

Phyllis love that real homemade breakfast, I’m going to start sleeping later everyday. I love to wake up to the smell of bacon cooking, yummy.

Looks like I got a little reading to do this morning.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Been at work a couple of hours now, thank you everyone for the diet pepsi, I need it...LOL
Hope everyone has a nice Veterans Day.
Dark, rainy, and on the cool side here.

Marymac, I know you like the name Miners Claim and it would be wonderful for that fact, but are you also in the mountains? Mountain Magic might also be nice. Not knowing zone 7 would any of the brugs survive thru the winter?

Well better get back with the program, got a call from one of the emps and she has strep throat, poor thing, and today is a killer day.

Will try lurking later.
This is a great group and really am glad Bonnie invited me.

Wow cold here this morning, only 33 now so I know we went down into the 20’s last night. We are getting a whopping high of 49, but it is supposed to be sunny. Time to come out on denial and get the hoses disconnected.

Wolfie good to know you are still lurkin, ya gotta remember to pop in a least once a thread so ya won’t lose us when we are on the move. Kim looks like you’ve been real busy, how’s the new job going? Beck surgery does not sound like fun, what do they want to do to ya and how long are they going to let you hold off? JB, be careful with those sticks, ya can’t get sick before the busy season. Please post some pics of the Christmas stuff if ya get a chance, I need something to put me in the mood. Bonnie glad you are getting some holiday stuff done, and in work too that’s even better. Nice to have a few days without the boss around. Marymac if you have your heart set on Minor Claim, try the Logee web site, the last time I was looking there it was on their list of Brugs. Ester I don’t know that much about digitals except you get a lot more for a lot less now than you did 4 years ago. I think you can get a decent one for around $100. Joyce working on a holiday, that just doesn’t seem fair. In RI it is still on the day off list, businesses have to pay time and a half to make people work today so most are closed. Therefore here it is a huge shopping day, almost as bad as black Friday. I’ll be staying home, I hate crowded stores.

Carrollton, TX(Zone 8a)

Mountain Magic is hardy in zone 7 - Just joining in - drinking my coffee - breakfast sounds good - mm

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

I'm here too and lurking, I am in the office! Nice day everyone!

Wrightstown, NJ(Zone 7a)

Morning Brug lovers;

I was reading your posts about Miners Claim. I thought I put up a picture of mine when I first joined. They are still babies and are patiented. I am not sure I really like them except they are pretty but they are slow growers. Logee's was selling it for $12.95 for a 2.5 inch pot. I hope I live long enough to see mine bloom. LOL

May I ask who edits these posts? Every once in awhile I notice someone has a notation on their posts stating it has been edited. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I am curious and do not know who else to ask? HAVE A GREAT DAY.

(Zone 7a)

I don't have a lot of time. Trying to answer e-mails and read through threads! LOL Lots to catch up on.

I have to head over to my MIL's soon and sit with her while she has some new appliances installed.

Hi JB

There are no dumb question here. If you look over on the side of one of your posts (where you screen name and city are) you will see the word “Edit” (very small). When you click on this you will be allowed to change your post. This option is only on your posts, you are the only one that can edit them.

Congrats Dana..mother to be..ROTFLMAO...

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

I’m here too, I’m searching out on the web and on DG looking for ideas for shelves for my windows. I haven’t had much luck but I think I’m looking for the impossible. I guess I’m looking more for an insert, something I can just stick in there without drilling holes or screwing in brackets.

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

Wolfie the only named one I have that is big enough to cut on is Isabella and she's pink I think...

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

Donna what about those kitty platforms they make so your kitty can lay up there and watch the world outside..
Have no idea what the run though..

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Good Morning everyone! No workie today, well at work. Phyllis, bacon, eggs and whole wheat toast for me... (pancakes is supper food) but I will have some of that syrup on my eggs.. mmmmmmm .. I like to wake up to smells of bacon and coffee, too! I actually slept in this morning... rainy and cold here.. Joycie, you ol work horse you, getting time and 1/2 today? I was on another thread, (maybe one of our threads?) talking about Miner's Claim... can't remember who I was talking with about it now.. but I do think Logee's still carries it. Mary, I'll maybe have more Maya next year, if you want to wait that long, I'm happy to share her.....Debra!!! NEW GROWTH on Maya! Woohoo! Way to go! That little bug is what I call a stink bug, too! if you squish him, he'll stink. Wolfie, if you want to be spoke to directly, ya hafta come in here and address us proper-like.. We know the lurkers are out there, just don't always say Hi, cause...well... they are lurkers, I forget they are there sometimes... I'm trying to be a good lurker out there in the "big garden".... just can't seem to lurk very long cause I always have a comment or hint and with my big mouth, I force myself out of lurkdom... but I'm working on it.. Rome wasn't built in a day and I'm probably a slow learner.. lol Well guess the cleaning fairy missed my place again this week, so that leaves me to contend with the mess. But I don't mind so much if it's INSIDE yardwork, makes it a little more easier. ;) Thanks for posting about the ornaments again, Karen.. I'm excited about getting them done..they are turning out pretty good... few more parts and pieces to glue, the painting is done and then I'll have finishing touches and be ready to send...they aren't wood, so no wood shop mess to deal with... Still shopping for 1 more thing for them... having the Goldilocks syndrome... the one more thing I can find is either too big or too little, still hunting for something that's... just right. Okay, enough procrastinating.... I'm a cleaning fairy! Okay, I'll never catch up.... Dana Congrats! Yes, they are teeny tiny okra-looking things when they start, I like to find them 5 inches long (so I don't have to wait so long).. Wolfie, I gave all my named brug cuttings away... I'll have more next year... AND what's wrong with named pink brugs?? Pink is pretty;)

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Wow, it looks like everyone is coming back to talk today, yippie! Well yeah at work today, it is pretty slow so I'll try to chat a little more. The trains were empty so I liked that and was able to catch some zzzzz on my way here.

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

Hey Bonnie when that CleaningFfairy shows up and is finished send her my way....
Maybe she can borrow Witchy Womans broom...

My ferral cat family is now in the process of eating me out of house and home..they think they need to get fed more than the 3X a day...Banging up against my back door and now sitting in my kitchen window...LOL

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Morning Glories!!

I'm kinda late... any coffee left?? Looks like we had a full table here earlier... I need to get up earlier so I don't miss something.. I have another one for you... My DH just thinks he's the greatest lil joke maker...lol...NOOOO... Anyway.. he asked what's the Brug Hussies have to say this morning??..... OHHHHHHHH... he needs my wet noodles..lol.. hope you get a chuckle out of that one!
Phyllis... wow you went all out on breakfast.. sure sounds good!!
James.. haven't heard from you in a while.. you all settled in yet??
Donna.. yeah isn't that nice for someone else to beat you up, and get breakfast done for you??..lol.. I'm still dreaming here..lol
Clemmie.. you working at the self employed business??
JB.. that's what I read on the variegated brugs... slow growing.. guess that's the main reason I am not that interested in getting one..lol
Karen.. time to roll yourself up out of the yuck.... you'll just get "stinky" if you keep laying there...lolol
Debra... I sure feel for you, and my under cabinets need to be cleaned out, and I DON'T even need a plumber..lol.. hope he can find it.. the problem.. that is
Esther... been thinking also about that brug making it in zone 7.. I'd be afraid
Marymac... been thinking... have you considered the daturas? Gorgeous blooms so much like the brugs, just more bush form, and I have read they do great in the colder regions, and even reseed for the next year, and they don't require nearly the time and effort as a brug does... just a thought
Celia.. lucky MIL.. I sure would like to be getting 1 appliance myself..lol.. better not ask again!!

I AM.. getting up today... I really AM..lol... here in a lil bit.. hehehehehe.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Ok witchy woman going to Kansas to pick up Bonnie's fairy, first stop Pensylvannia!

Santee, CA(Zone 9a)

Hello Brugie Friends :o) I'm trying to not type theq "word" :o)

Just been lurking for awhile..been rather chilly here in Santee... in the 40s at night and barely 51 right now. We may get to the low 60s today...brrrrr. I know I know...spoiled California weather brat :o)

I need to take some pics of my brugie babies that are planted in the ground out front. They are all NOIDS and 2 of them are doing well, but one has just been slaughtered (sp) by some sort of pest :o(

Hoping everyone is having a wonderful day. Chester is sound asleep on my lap completely under a blanket that is folded over 4 times....my laps getting a bit warm you could say.

Todd and I are going to start working on the moonlight flower garden bed this weekend...Chester can now leap up into the bed that is already there, so we need to make it smaller and higher. I'm gonna do a white brug (any, even a noid) a shite and yellow datura, moonflower vine and???? any suggestions are appreciated. I think I've mentioned I need help on this one, but can't remember..LOL The puppy still has me sleep deprived :o)

Hugs & *smootches* to all my brugie friends

~melissa ;o)

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

Ohhhh Goodie....can I keep her for about a week...??

Morning Beck...Glad to see your finally awake...

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

Kissa I'm really not into white flowers...So i'm not sure...
I need color...LOL
and of course the black ones to remind the DH just who the boss is...LOL

Beck tell Lyle us Hussies will come after him with our Bruggie switches....LOL
