Betty,
Advice.....ahem.....getting up on my soap box!
The best way to print anything that is posted here on DG is to c/p it to Word. Sometimes i also do it as if I was writing an e-mail. In "Word", you can correct spelling and formating and make titles BOLD and paragraph as you wish--then print it.
ALSO--if it is really, really a good recipe (or whatever), you can save it in your files.
Can't really do that anywhere else.....
OK! I need to go back now and take notes on how to put Santa together......LOTS of reading to do.....
SEE! I may just c/p select instructions and then print the whole thing out.....:o)
Judy--It is not a "Tootsie Roll"----------------It is a "Tootsie Pop". They are like round lollipops. Hard on the outside, but soft inside--once you "get to it"......

too funny Gita..you just got Judy good...
I finally got my wedding rings today! It was really weird putting them on and realizing I was going to be wearing them basically for the rest of my life. To explain: We got married two years ago, but my rings are custom made. They finished my rings about a moth after we got married, but the same day I got laid off. Then we decided that I needed to stay home to be there for my Step-daughter. So, living off one income we haven't been in a position to do more than make a token payment since then, but we got a settlement today and the first thing we did was buy our rings.
I went with a non-traditional wedding ring, but it's perfect for me. Here's a picture.
Laura-it is so pretty-and fits you to a T!!
Laura, that is my favorite stone. It is so hard to find around here. Mom always called it a blue-lindy star....but I think it is a star saphire. It is beautiful.
Of all things I was allergic to my wedding band. We had them special made also thru Art-carved. And as much as the darn thing cost, well, it made my finger swell, itch and it looked like it was going to fall off! We tried everything. SO, I ended up having to get a basic gold band, which doesn't cause a problem at all.
Betty, I love the little poems with the gift ideas. We did one years ago with the "reindeer poo" and the "snowman poo". I ended up selling quite a few of them to co-workers who used them as "gag" gifts and naughty children instead of coal in the stocking.

Good morning all
Ladies we are now in #69!
Come join us.

about 5 posts up
Ok I tried to read 50 or 100 posts but find myself skipping or skimming to catch up, so Betty did your mom have a stroke and is she out of the hospital? How scary, I totally would have been shaking and pacing too.
I live about 35 miles or so from the Grapevine. Man it does get ugly there. it is so funny for you guys that get snow, but in California unless you live in a skii or mountain community, you never know how to handle driving in weather and most people do not have chains and snow tires do not exhist, no one salts the roads, just plows here and there dust off and come out. Usually they close the Grapevine that someone was talking about. (Hi whoever you were, sorry, i am an oldy to the thread and forgot who you were, 100 threads later lol), but people get stuck with no jackets, no water, no anything, sitting on a snowy freeway over night or more some times. It is funny too that it is so close yet so far from me, since we are a valley, we are surrounded by mountains and mountain communities and mountain passes yet only get snow that sticks and stays once in a decade. We get snow in the local area a few times a year but it is not everywhere and does not stay for more than a few hours a day or only in higher elevations in the town.
Betty it is so different in California, place to place, Norther, Central, Southern California and the coast is so different and there are 20 subclimates in each of those except the Coast.
lol dawn you said it!! its 82 today
WE HAVE MOVED TO A NEW ROOM.......
