The coffee is on and there are some sticky buns to go with it, I remembered the Seltzer and Diet Pepsi too. It’s still dark here yet to say what the weather is like but when I opened the door to let my fur babies out I got blasted with some very fresh air. It’s just a wee bit chilly here this morning.

Agggggggg. Who took the warmth and left it at 28F this mornign and frosty. I freezing and worried about my babies. They in the gh but no heat in there and it was supposed to be 40 last night and I didn't put a second covering of plastic over them.

Thanks for the coffee. Need it this morning. Just pour a few cups over my head and mayeb it will help warm me up.

Man, I had finally gotten Puppy Love out of my head and read this morning and now it back in it.

Cute puppy. Don't ya just love sad eyes, they get me everytime and turn me into a marshmellow. Looks like a time to bring out treats time. That what I used to do, see sad eyes and pass out treats, think I probably got manipulated by the babies too.

Thank you Karen for gifting me some of your babies. They arrived Saturday. Was so mad. Didn't almost walk up to end of road mailbox and sure glad I did cuz the maillady had crammed them in there instead of driving down the drive with the box. They waving Hi! and sayign we made it! too ya.

Hello gang, I am so concerned about my Brug (the one I thought I killed with bug spray) It came back looking great and grew several feet with big leaves and now all the leaves are falling off. Just dropping like flies. Please , any suggestions will be helpful. It has plenty of water. Maybe too much? Thank you in advance.

JB, please describe the environment you have it in... sitting in water..? Did you just move them inside recently?

JG, all mine lost most of their leaves when I brought them in, but one bloomed, and now two more are opening up! The leaves are coming back, too!
I'd like to see some snow here! I know, I'm crazy, but I like snow! My uncle used to say, "Wish it would snow, and get my feet off the cold ground"!

Aunt B it has just been watered and has some water in the saucer. The room is very sunny and bright. It is the bird room. This is the big one that I cut back and it came back in a few weeks just beautiful. Two days ago it started to look dry so I watered it good. Yesterday the leaves began to drop. I do not think it dried out completely. I check it twice a week. I am in that room constantly with the birds.

I had a strange thing happen to me yesterday. I cut my eucalyptus and hammered the stems to put it into the solution for preserving it to use on wreaths. I did not wear gloves because I only had about 50 stems and I was in a hurry to shower and rest. I finished the euc and fed the barn cats and by the time I was getting ready for the shower, I was very confused and felt like I had been drinking. Not having anything to drink and the only thing I smelled of was euc I thought I was having a stroke. I immediately called my SIL (he was out on an errand and is an EMT) He came back to the farm and took my BP and it was o.k. up a little but I was frightened. My daughter got home from work and she too is an EMT and by that time I was regaining my thoughts.....they ask me all the questions they ask stroke and other patients prior to treatment and we determined it was the euc oil that was on ly hands and went into my system. I had taken a shower and began to drink water before they got here because I just had a feeling it was something to do with the oil. It lasted a few hours and then I went to bed. I am fine today but that is just like I was on drugs. Has this ever happened to anyone on this list? I am trying to find a list to see if Euc oil can give you a high of somesort if it gets into your system thru your hands.

This happened to me one other time when I thought I had enough ventilation in the green house and I sprayed some strong stuff on the plants. A few hours later I had a similiar attack. I am healthy as a horse but things like this really scare me. I am such a pain in the butt at times.. I know better when I do things but I think I can do anything and get away with it. LOL

Well, JB, I wouldn't allow brugs to sit in saucers of water... maybe it did get a bit too dry... I've only had one drop dead like that and it was a sport off Maya so I figured it was retarded or not quite right... I buy eucalyptus oil for "the recipe" and I rub it directly on my knees or achey muscles... never had an alergic reaction to it... but I know AnjL's hubby is alergic to eucalyptus..

Thamks AuntB I will see if it has water in the saucer. Also, this euc oil was really strong because I smash the stems so they drink the solution I put them in for three days. I always work on it last thing in the day and jump into the shower because it makes me smell all over. I guess I had a good "high' on that yesterday but I hate that feeling of not being in control. JB... I have a cutting that has been giving me fits too. She'll lose all her leaves and then she'll start over.. I am sure is something i am doing!!..lol.. also have a pink perfektion cutting that looks like she's getting mushy, so she's going in a pot. Sure hate to hear about your reaction to that euc oil. Upsets me to know some people would kill for that info cause they like those highs!! I am with you.. none of that fuzzy feeling for me..lol

I'm thinking alot has to do with what kind it is and what it likes best...And the age of the stalk/cutting...

AuntB , I made sure my NOID or is it NERD, (just kidding) is not sitting in water. There was some but because the room is heated I thought it would drink it up good. I am going to give her a good talking to and I will then ignore her for awhile. We will see. I have so many beautiful healthy plants in the same room it makes me angry to see one not happy.

It is more or less sunny here in NJ today but it is getting colder and windy. If you go by the way the crow flies, I am only about 20 miles from the ocean , so we get some of the shore weather depending on which way the wind blows. It is coming out of the West today and it is cold. I do not like snow. I get crazy when the days get too short. I need sunshine.

I am trying to price the Christmas Store things today and it is so difficult becuase of this crazy economy. We have a lot of Military customers and I try and keep the price down for them. We also have a 7% sales tax I must tack on everything, Stupid State. Our 8 feet trees as only $45 and over 8 is $50...that includes tax and we cut them and bag them. You can imagine at that price we sell pretty many. Yesterday we had one of our customers from NY State stop in to tag their tree. This is their third year with us. They will bring their little boy back with them in a few weeks to have hot chocolate, cookies and enjoy watching them cut and bag his tree. We cater to families of course. Our returning customers are like family. Some bring even the grandparents and take pictures, etc.
It is fun. I had better shut up and do something productive.

Went out and checed my baies and they doign fine. I so happy, another extreme cold night so got them double covered.

I had liek that big 3 foot noid Y that was gifted and I put it in a bucket of water and discovered the bottom of it was turnign to mush and rotting. I took it back out, laid it in the sun to dry. Can I cut that part at the bottom off and maybe just stick it in dirt or the ground. If it goe sin the ground will it make it without cover all winter?

Yes, you can cut that part off. It will not hurt it.
Don't know about putting it in the ground.

I don't know about outside in the winter for starting a cutting.. even in your zone.. might try inside with a little heat and a bubbler to get it to start some nubbies then in dirt to start growing. At least a bubbler if it has already tried to go to mush... cut off the mush.. dip in a very weak bleach solution and rinse also... to kill any bacteria. Add a little hydrogen peroxide to the water.

If it turns to mush again...cut again and try either the moss or dirt....

Well no call today so I guess tomorrow will be the same routine...Till they call...said it could be anywhere from 1 day to 6 and the body shop guy thinks they'll probably want to check out the truck themselves before they issue the go ahead to fix it....Jezzzzz....

.Hey Ella... no I wouldn't chance it leaving the cutting outside... and even though I haven't had that many brugs( but I am quickly getting lots!) I have found if the cutting turns to mush you might as well stick it in dirt. I have had some to go ahead and root. BUT IF I left the cutting in the water, it just mushed all the way to the end... I have a bunch I need to pot up, but just didn't feel like it today

The DR called with the results of the MRI, and said no other way but surgery... I asked him.. you sure I can't eat enough pain pills for it to go away??...LOL.... I won't tell ya'll what he told me...hehehehe..OH well.... Momma's have to be last.. I have too much to worry about between Momma and Lyle... I just wish he'd have listened to me on my neck instead of keeping on with my lumbar area.. even though there were 2 herniated disks there too.. this getting old and dilapidated is for the birds..
