She’s about to….Bloom, Yes one of our beautiful Burgs.

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

Yes Deb..But i'm still just as confused....
I

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Good luck Debbie and Bonnie with the storms, my prayers are with you!

Yeah Phillys, strange, who knows, I am not hallucinating! better put my hallow on.

Beckie sending love and thinking of ya girl!!!! Hope the surgery went well!

And good evening and night to all, hugs hughs and more hughs, Silly Clem

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Clem, so you go edit one and the other one you did not do it? That is "really strange." I thought we got moved because of the chatting and we were taking up too much space in "their" forum. I am very confused right now, really.

Okay, what I got on to tell ya'll was Beck and I talked tonight, and Lyle's surgery went okay, but they put in a temporary pump in and will be taking it out again. They thought this was it, but no, they have to come back in three months to get the permanent. So nothing is really going the way they thought it would.

Anjl, our financial situation is iffy right now, but I could do one ornament, I backed off of 54, that was what I understood was happening.

Our first Christmas tree together was a $5 Charlie Brown tree that Keith brought home on Christmas Eve, and he broke the top on the way home and wired it together and hoped Missy and I did not notice. We did. Poor little tree, but we did our best to make it look good.

Lov, Peg

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Thank you Peg for the update on Beckie and Lyle, I was worry about her all day today, you a good friend.

Yeah my post was really weird, wonder too! Who knows and I am GOOD!

Lets hope the economy gets better for all of us, Peg I hear you and for all and me too!

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Oh, Clem, La bondad es su nombre, a veces. Tee hee!

We've got a major TS moving in and hail. Talk to ya'll later.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Good luck Peg with the storm and Bonnie and Debra, you will be ok, TM here knows best! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ and I know I will hear from all of you tomorrow. Hugs, Clem

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Thanks Peggy for the Beckie update.. I don't think they thought it would be temporary.. darn it..
I thought the exchange was for as many that wanted to participate.. we had 54 "members" in our group then, that was the high side it could have been, had everyone wanted to do it.. These ornaments are part of my holiday fun.. it's getting tougher and tougher to stretch the ol pay check. Oh, no tornadoes.. rain, wind, thunder and lightening.. skeery! ha.. sure did cool off outside. Debra, hang tight lil mama! Glad you're liking your plants.. you are so welcome. It's been a strange week for me, thus far.. Phyllis, now you know what it's like to be AuntB= confused! teehee.. I'm feeling a bit more settled over here, I hope everyone is. I'm happy to see us getting back to our good ol conversation and antics! Joycie, here's my Snowbank.. kinda top heavy... still trying to figure this one out.. 1 things for sure..NO direct sun..

niters Clemmie.. Peg, I am glad to know Becky and lyle are okay, thanks, and hey I rememember a year I had to cut down a little evergreen in peices to "make" a tree when I was young and broker than I am now.. LOL

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

One more pic... Gnight Clemen! This is the Monster White brug Joyce game me last spring.. such a bloomer! I'm headed to zzzzz, myself you Bruggie Trouble Makers! Not me, or Clemen.. we're good ;) Nightie Night. Sweet Brug Dreams.

1Anjl, please add me to the list for the donation of ornaments for the tree please. Do you want them sent to you?
I think we have all been there, so we know what she is going through.
Good night everyone.
LK

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

AuntB, my SnowBank does have a few more leaves than yours does, but it y'd in the middle of summer and hasn't growen an inch since I don't think. Strange little bruggie.

Glad to see Moster blooming....looks happy happy.

Night all

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

niters to you too.. Bonnie, I might need help ID'ing a Brug the tag came off of.. LOL

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL Peg! I thought I explained to you that the 54 list Donna posted was just a count of like every person that had ever posted here and I thought it would be no more than 20 sign up for the ornaments...Many of those people don't even come here anymore....Sorry if you were still confused. I surely understand about the iffy finances though, be it making 5 or 54 it is still an extra cost right now. Sorry you could not join though...I know I am really excited about making my ornaments and with a little thought I was able to do it cheap!!! I was talking to Becky when you beeped in on us and she couldn't figure out how to beep back to me so I lost her, darn it! LOL she will call me tomorrow. She and I just can't get through the day without at least one phone call!

Linda Kay you should get your seeds tomorrow, I hope you like them! I ordered some seeds tonight, when upset or depressed I tend to buy something online, hehehe! I got some Love Lies Bleeding, Gigantimous Cockscomb Heads, and mixed Coleus. Already looking forward to sowing. I went to Lowe's and got several sets of humidity trays....100 cell trays with lids, 3 to a package for $8.00. I am geared, and I've never even liked seeds. I'm an instant gratification girl here, don't have time usually for all that seed mess but ya'll have inspired me to try it!

Clemmie looks to me like you tried to interject a little "fun" into a stuffy thread and it wasn't liked by someone. Pooh pooh on them I say. We love our sweet Latina baby girl and everything she says! I love you Clemmie!

Nitey night to all, I love you so. We will persevere, hey? But I DO think we should consider some of the names suggested and pick one definately. I don't like us not being identified by a nickname.....It made me feel like something special, and not your run of the mill chat room. Let's all try and decide on something before the next thread, please? At this point, I really don't think Brug Forum Rejects will "fly" with the powers that be, although I LOVE it!!!!!! Peg's idea of Bruggie TMs was a good one, but whatever ya'll choose is fine, it is for ALL of us. We need something to help unite us again.

Love to you all my sweet friends, I love you so! Goodnight my dears!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Just stick with Brugaholics then. I think we all liked that one too? Addicted to Brugs?
Karen, thanks for the seeds, I will post as soon as I get them. I think we all go shopping when we get a little down!
Good night all. Sleep well.
LK

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

hey all, thank you so much for helping me help someone else :o) I really appreciate it and I am certain she will too!

it will be a small tree, so I am thinking will hold only 15 to 20 ornaments. to make it easier on karen, you can ship them direct to me... I cna even send you some seeds or something to help reimburse postage (I'm short on funds too and still need to pay to ship tree and stuff to the recipient! lol!)
my addy is in the addy exchange, or just dmail me and I'll give it to you.

again I really appreciate all your help. I love giving and this whole project is actually helping me too! just by knowing I get to help make someone elses day a bit brighter :o)

{{hugs}} to all you wonderful brugaholic tm's!

and special {{HUGS}} to Becky and family!

Morning BFer’s

Up before the sun again, coffee is on but I need some help with the goodies. I’m not awake enough to bake anything. I’m going to drink my coffee and read last night’s episode. BRB.

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Morning Donna!!! y'all be sure to have a wonderful day!!!!!.....i'm off to.... you know the place...sigh...... cya :)

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

My I miss lots of good conversation going Zzzzzz’s so early, but somebody has to make the coffee in the AM. I’m not always the first one up we have a few others that make me look like a late sleeper. Of course it helps that I am on Eastern Time.

Beck I’m glad the report was good on Lyle; sorry he has to do it again though. Sometimes I just don’t get these Dr’s and there ways. Hope today is a brighter day for you, and your karma gets a little better. Sending hugs for you and Lyle and your Momma too.
Bonnie monster white is a gorgeous burg and snowbank is looking so cute too. Joyce sorry your is looking like a crispy critter. I wanted to try one next season because it likes the shade but I may wait a little longer until you Bfer’s figure out what she likes.
Debra, Great pix and videos on that site, I was lurking around for a bit hope that’s okay.
Karen, I got back on the seed train last season too, used to do them all the time when the kiddies were little and cash was always needed more elsewhere. Last season I decided try and save some money and get more with seeds, well you would not believe how much I spent trying to save a little. But it was so much fun watching them grow I’ll be doing it again this winter.
As for our new name we best be deciding or voting soon, we had 139 posts on this one yesterday.
I’m off to get to that TV, did not want to go there last night, I always have trouble with any box marked some assembly required.

Have a great day everyone.

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

Morning Donna. Can't help with the baking as I think I am sleep waking this morning through DG. My mind is definately still asleep . I am not really here this morning, but will lay out haf a pack of chocolate chip cookies til I do wake up.

Have ya ever gone shopping and bought something and wondered why ya did it later. That's what I did the other day. I am wondering what got ahold of my brain. I know what did, ya all kept posting more pics of brugs and I decided I needed to have some with names instead of noids, so I went up to the Dg Marketplace. I need to stay off of there.

When that one I think it was Kong or somethign like it was on ebay I couldn't afford it, but asked my Dad for my Christmas money early and off I went to the marketplace I saw a pretty big and ended up buying Wretched Mess. I figure that fits my life style pretty good. My hair alone on some days qualifies for that title. So now I gonna have this really big thing.

Still had a few bucks left, so thought I would try and hunt up some seeds. Instead I found this site, called Valley Grow. Has anybody heard of it before? Well, anyway, I ended up going in the totally opposite extreme and got Valley Baby Doll Double
http://www.valleygrow.com/product.sc?categoryId=21&productId=79

My friend thinks I need to cut back off the caffine and maybe she right. Have no idea what I gonan do with the two, have no idea if they even gonna grow here , bloom or will cross with anything, but the pictures sure do pretty. So I giving myself an combination early birthday and Christmas. I gotta quit looking at pretty pictures. Pictures are a very bad addiction for a newbie brug person.

So, how bad of choices, did I make? Ya all can be honest, cuz I would rather know now upfront what problems I might be facing and that way can maybe head them off.

I already killed off one brug. It got the same amoutn of water as the other couple I have but it just rotted all the bottom and croaked. It was Herrenhauser Garten. Have no idea what I did wrong. : (

Was almost ready to give up on brugs before I even got started but my other two are doing good and growing, so I am enthused and excited . I know a person cannot always grow a plant, but sheesh when ya lose your first one , it kinda sad.

Makign fresh coffee for all. Had to think whiel typing so now I up and wide awake. Good thing too cuz it gonan be almost 80 today and gonna play in the dirt. Yep, I saying dirt..dirt.. dirt.. I had a professor who would knock off points everytime ya slipped and said dirt. He says dirt is the dust bunnies ya find under yoru bed, soil is what ya grow things in. I sure lost a lot of points at the begining of class. I even have a t-shirt that says I play in the dirt and a pocket garden knife with the same logo on it. He couldn't take off points for clothes choice. LOL

Anjl... Do ya want us to send stuff to you. Will you take the stuff and put it under her tree. I got some ornaments and some little Christmas surprises. To me the Spirit of Christmas is spread a little bit of happiness and cheer to others that day. I start early in the year getting thinsg together for those in shelters and other places. Even if it just somethign tiny, everythign is appreciated by folks.

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Oh Ella, I do that all the time, I also killed my first burg trying to overwinter it but I did not let that stop me, I now have 14 burgs in the basement and am hoping for the best. I love wretched mess, she is on my must have list. I checked watchdog for Vallygrow and it did have 17 positive and 2 negative ratings, most were old but the one from 2008 was positive. I had to look at the link you put in and I love that little white double you bought. Now I have the site bookmarked so let us know how the plant is when you get it.
I have always referred to gardening as playing in the dirt, I think mostly because my Mom hated dirt, she was forever scubbing my nails as a kid. Now she loves my garden and I’m better at cleaning myself up.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

mornin Donna and ella.. hope you all had some good breakfast.. have agreat day playing in the dirt.. I love to play in the dirt! off to work now

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

Will do, when they get big enough will be glad to share. If they look like they may give me problems may see about farming out to somebody to grow for me til I get a good handle on the brug growing ways.

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Good Morning! Here ladies' have some donuts... made with canned biscuits.. quick and easy.... covered in granulated sugar, of course! Help yourselves... Thx for coffee, Donna. What ever the majority rules for our name will be fine.. I'm still liking the BFR's, but that may be too suggestive?? To someone in the world, in some way?? We do have the general public's opinion to think about, too.... I doubt they will let us use Brug Forum Rejects... I was wondering how long that nasty-gram post will be on the first page of the brug forum... sure will feel better once our "spanking" is not so visible there on the front page of the forum..

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Brug Addicts.. simply put, cause if you aren't when you find us, you will be... I think we are supposed to steer clear of abbreviations? Guess maybe I best go read our "special" message on the brug forum to be clear on the rules... just to make sure, I hope we only have to do this re-naming thing ONE time.. Keeping in mind we have all the people in the world to consider how they "see" our new name.. :) ok, I'll play nice... Hang in there my friends... I think we are doing pretty good getting publicly humiliated on the brug forum, being moved before we even knew we were moving and making our new lil room all cozy again.. We're doing FINE! Ain't WE??? YAY for US rejected misfits! :P to all who don't like us or need special attention from admin! Oh, yes,it's our DG duty to report any post we find personally possibly offensive to admin...so keep that in mind as you are out there surfing Daves garden plots (gotta go, late again!) -B

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

I’m right along with you on the public spanking Bonnie, I'd love to see it disappear. I’m a firm believer in “Praise in Public and Reprimand it Private” but that is just how I was brought up. I’ve always found it has the best effect when dealing with touchy situations.

Edited because I crossed posts with ya Bonnie. I agree the new name must be user friendly and acceptable in the garden.

Good morning all. It's supposed to be my day off, but I got a call. Wild storm here last night and have not gone out to see what damage I have, but it hailed for almost 30 minutes. Ella, I have bought from the same person that you are getting Wretched Mess from and was very, very pleased. Nice sized plants and very healthy. So, I'm grabbing a cup of coffee and making a walk through and then will be stuck in the office for awhile. ((HUGS!))

mornin everyone. i hate that getting off the topic is shunned. thats what makes it fun as well as informative.if you want strict info only go read a book. donna amen to that! one of my datura seeds sprouted . yay .have a good day everyone!

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Yay, Dana on the dat seed, let me know how it does; I’m not planning to start mine until March.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Morning Friends, it is raining here and dark, although it is quite war m outside, around 60's, ahhh I like that.

No coffee over here, anyone for sparkling seltzer water???

Need to catch up, so I'll be see you all later. Sernding love and hugs all across the US!

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Morning all! Okay, I cast my vote for Brug Addicts....user friendly, lets people know who we are, and non-offensive to anyone. Along Bonnie's reasoning, we don't want newcomers to feel like they've joined a "rogue" group....

Ella I got 2 of the KongMansia's this year... I will be glad to share it with you next year. I've always wanted Wretched Mess so maybe we can trade?

Donna.........a question for you? Noticed on your blog I think, did you go and see ZZTop recently? The drummer, Frank Beard is my 2nd cousin. He was born and raised right here in tiny little Frankston, Texas! Still has lots of family here and comes here fairly often. In 1982, I was backstage with them in Dallas at the Eliminator tour (The one with the hot rod car and "Sharp Dressed Man?" I rode in the limosine with them and the exec from MTV to a private party and we had a blast! Definately the experience of a lifetime. Billy and Dusty are a hoot too.....

I'm sort of excited to try my hand at seeds this year....Donna, your's don't look like they are 2" under a lightbulb or on a heat mat, LOL! Is all that really necessary?

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

Morning All either puters acting up or ISP couldn't get it working right this morning...

How about something like Brug Forum Survivors..Yes She's Still About To...#35
I mean whats the most they can do?? delete it or ask us to change it??
Then we'll know just how far we can push the envelope...
We can still use BFer's

Star it's probably nothing you did...some cuttings just aren't destined to make it..
No matter what you do..
I've lost a few in these past weeks..

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

HAHAHA Phyllis, the BFer's just tickles me to death every time I see/hear it! You little envelope pusher you ^_^

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Karen, Confused here. I don't have a blog that I know of!
I didn't use lights or heat mats last season but probably will next season. Lights keep them from getting leggie and some seed just will not come out of hiding without heat. I'll going to try winter sowing outside and do some tropicals with heat in the house.

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

hmmm Karen I think it was Deb...

I don't think that name is offensive and it lets all the people know there's a place to go in Brugland where you can survive..and florish...

Bedford, VA(Zone 7a)

How about Brugs and everything else? Or, Brugs 'n' more?

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

Morning everyone.. busy day today.. have to get my potting shed ready for plants to move in.. first freeze is tonight.. christmas lights for the 3 brugs in the ground tonight... anyone notice our headline for this thread is burgs .. not brugs? LOL .... LOTS of plants to move in today... all the big ones.. hand truck is going to be busy and of course my father is leaving town today so it leave me to do it alone. Have to go to my parents this evening and cover all the blooming flowers and later tonight cover all mine.... suppposed to be cold 2 or 3 nights only then warm again. Not going to trim my brugs yet. No bubble wrapping yet but I have it ready.. next freeze will probably be the real winterizing time. Oh, dr apt too.. and a few other errands... darn it.. just checked.. got down to 38 last night.. was only supposed to get to 42! Those weather guys lie!

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL Tammie, that is just one of Donna's endearing things, she just about always types Burgs by mistake.....hehehe

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Whoops Tammie, the header error is my fault, Sooooooooooo sorry.

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Yup, dyslexic since the day I was born.
