Time to Settle in for the Winter?

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Now I'll have time to finish up all those extra projects that have been lingering!!

:-)

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

interesting

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Yes, we have so much extra time now!

Karen

I am slightly over a year taking my comp apart and blowing the dust out. Should be done once a year. If you have never done it you would be shocked.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

And don't forget to feed those little mice who run on the wheel to power it!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Yup, did mine last year. Should be done again.

Karen

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Just do NOT use a vacuum!! :-)

I have many times in the lower casing part. Not on the components.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Could create a static shock, which could travel to your components ..... Not totally unsafe, but kind of ...... better to blow than to suck .....

[cue Victor .....]

I'll pass...

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

hahahaha

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

You are both too much!

Karen

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

Yup, it's definitely time to settle in. A foot of snow on the way today.

GS shovling, might be all day at it.
At least he wont play the drums for two hours.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Let me guess - your ears ring for 2 hours afterwards. LOL

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Sue, I bought myself that sign for Christmas.

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

Don't you just love buying yourself gifts? I do it every year! (My dh is kinda lame in the gift-giving division - doesn't bother me, though.)

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

jan Yes they do ring and while he's at it I am so irritated at the noise all I want to do is eat.
He has mild terrets and the druming helps him so I just deal.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Wouldn't it be great to have a mute button? Hey, maybe you could paint him and tell him to hold that pose for a good, long while. Hee-hee.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Haa Haa He is sweet and only home for three weeks. It was this summer that nearly drove menuts, months of drumming after he came home from work.
I made a deal with him, he couldn't drum after 8:00 at night

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Sue, I love your garden sign. Nice! Looks like the snow has stopped here. I can't really tell. Maybe we'll get more later. Doesn't seem to be as bad a storm as they were predicting so far.

Karen

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

Karen, it's been snowing lightly here all morning, how about you? I thought it was going to stop, but "they" (Ch. 5) said light snow/flurries all day.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Yes, it's still snowing here. Looks very pretty. We've gotten over a foot, I think. Took me some time to get the driveway cleared. Here's a picture.

Looks like we got about 10 inches. Here's a snowman the kids made with my wife.

Looks like you guys are really suffering, JoAnn!

Karen

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I took the pic, you wouldnt find me in the tub until summer.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Allison.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Great snowman, Victor. Very creative.

Jo Ann ... really! I'd be in the hot tub, even at zero degrees! I can't help but think that it would help warm me to the bone, when I'm chilled to the bone.

We're getting much more snow today, too.

Happy Winter everyone!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Yes, happy winter indeed! And spring will be here in 3 months. Boo hoo! Snow has stopped here and now we're getting rain. Will freeze later. I hate that. Love the snow, but don't like when it rains on top of that and freezes.

Go away, winter!!!!!

Karen

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

We didn't get the rain, thank goodness! Just some sleet for a little while, then all stopped.

But the Patriots didn't mind a little snow and sleet today! 47 - 7 over Arizona. And Wes Welker was penalized for making a snow angel in the end zone after his touchdown! That's wrong - what about everyone that dances and jumps into the stands and stuff?

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

schickenlady - I did the quiz I made 74% - apparently I am likely to survive a depression! This is really funny, 'cause I watch CNN and all the "advice" about what people can do to cut back during hard times - and I think, "How can I cut back? I'm already doing that stuff!"

WNYwillieB. Thanks for the tutorial on special characters. Here is how my user name should be spelled Seändor! (There are three syllables)

nutsfordaylilies: Pink Floyd is fabulous! Hard to believe the music is over 30 years old!

I have to admit, since I started gardening, I have found a new respect for snow. I hope the foot of snow we have remains until March to insulate the gardens . . . just no more snow on the roads!

I hope everyone is well . . . today it's back into the malls and tomorrow we finish the gingerbread house!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Oh, that is so stupid for penalizing Wes Welker for that. Dumb, dumb, dumb!

Everything is icy here.

Karen

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Seandor, I think AC DC is fabulous, too. "Dirty Deeds", "TNT", "Back In Black", etc. And they've been around a long time, too.

Karen

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Yes a very dumb penalty. The Pats have done great work this year considering all the injuries to starters and still they have a decent record. Snow angels should be allowed.
I also like the snow in the garden but that is where it ends. Warm up coming for Christmas.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I like snow on the garden too, keeps the squirrls from finding the bulbs.
