Lovely blossoms there syrumani. Your rescue 'Millenia' looks great! Very nice.
Hillbilly Gran...neat to see the streptocarpella Concord Grape as it has a different flower from the usual one. Are the leaves the same?
November Blooms
How awesome to have a rescue plant that appreciates you so much!! Yes GoldLeaf, the leaves are the same-- can't really tell the difference betwen the 2 plants.
I love that Concord Grape, Hillybilly Gran!! That is an awesome bloom and color. Where in the world did you get her?
**edited to say that you are really a good grower, Nichole...........in fact, amazing grower you have become.................

I'm thinking the name is appropriate . . . it seemed like a millenium for it to bloom again . . .
Gail - this is the rescue from Home Depot I posted a picture of back in May, I think . . .
Have you ever seen the variegated streptocarpella, Gran? I've never seen one in person.
I forgot earlier to say how much I like all your strep blossom photos, GG!
I haven’t had a chance to look through this thread until now. WOW! So many beautiful flowers.
Syrumani, you’ve really got a green thumb, girl! I especially like the yellow blooms on Suomi. I used to have Bon-bon. It’s such a sweet little violet.
Gail, your pictures are awesome as always. I like that Moon Moth. Really nice!
Blooms are sparse around my house too. Maybe I can get a few pix taken after lunch.
Nice blooms m3!! Little Rose Claire is a sweetheart!! I have not seen the variegated streptocarpella--I'll bet it is striking!! I will have to keep my eyes open for one now that you've told me about it! I received the concord grape as a cuttings in a trade I did last summer, all but this one died. I got it and two of the large growing sinningias--S.selovii and S. tubiflora that are s'posed to be marginally hardy outdoors, although I am too chicken to try them outside until I have more than 1 of each of them--maybe next year!! Remind me Goldleaf & Gail and I'll send you some when its bigger-- if you want.
I will just call you Portland as I will never remember your user ID>>>>>>>>>>>>
Your blooms are fantastic...........just fabulous..............
Oh, Hillbilly Gran...................I can't wait until you have an extra leaf on your most unusual strep.............thanks so much.........
i have pink sparkler also, but has not bloomed yet, can't wait.
mrsbonnie
ohhhh so pretty.
bonnie
too pretty-- that salmon sunset looks like a little daylily!! I like your variegated streptocarpella mrs bonnie-- has it bloomed for you yet?
I've never seen a variegated streptocarpella before. How neat!
yes, it has an almost white bloom on it. when i take cuttings i will offer them, i just gave it a haircut & did'ent know wht to do with them, so i threw them away.sorry.
bonnie
How cool is this that everyone is posting such fun pictures.............this is wonderful. I was going to take a picture of Purple Panda blooming but I think Av_ocd_girl covered it. Bonnie, I have never even heard of variegated streptocarpella...........I bet Goldleaf would be interested!!

Everyone's lovely blooms just makes my day! Since I can't keep Strep's alive, I sure enjoy seeing the pretty blooms y'all post. I really love the looks of that AV 'Fun Trail' ... gorgeous blooms on that one!
I have heard of the variegated Streptocarpus saxorum (Streptocarpella.) But have never seen one in person. I found this when googling ... great foliage! Scroll down this page a little and check out the last photo on right in the second row of these pic's! It doesn't show the blooms but look at that variegated foliage: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.gesneriadsociety.org/chapters/TGS/images/E30StreptocarpussaxorumVar.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.gesneriadsociety.org/chapters/TGS/Show.htm&h=560&w=600&sz=27&hl=en&start=10&um=1&usg=__xhQ6pKmIFu12YW4jKtT4FDuV4h4=&tbnid=bHn7PbX0mHO7wM:&tbnh=126&tbnw=135&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dimages%2Bof%2Bvariegated%2Bstreptocarpella%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DX
I've been gazing at all these beauties I found googling too: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.gesneriads.ca/Images5/2148s.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.gesneriads.ca/genstrep.htm&h=94&w=100&sz=5&hl=en&start=17&um=1&usg=__NjJWVxDt_Y_fFfUp-cM5HdoYgLI=&tbnid=6sj5A6jk11VteM:&tbnh=77&tbnw=82&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dimages%2Bof%2Bvariegated%2Bstreptocarpus%2Bsaxorum%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DX
What would we do without our professor...........thanks, Lin.........
I am a little slow...................mermaid! thanks for the help!
Beautiful blooms!!! I love Fun trail!!!!
If anyone wants to buy african violets, there is a lady from Germany who lives in the states.............her name is MKViolets and she is selling plants for 3.00 buy it now. I am sure she must have a surplus. I recommend her highly as I have her streps.
Syrumani..........hope you read this................
I would just put african violets in the search and find MKViolets
Oh NO Ladies,
All of these gorgeous pictures are seducing me into starting again ^_^. I guess I kind off, sorta, well maybe someday........knew that when I decided to lurk here-LOL. And then I joined the bingo game.......wonder why???
Lynn

G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S, av_ocd_girl! Love them all but I hadn't seen Fun Trail before and I love it. OOohs and AAahs for everything. So well grown.
mrsbonnie...thank you for showing the variegated streptocarpella I asked Hillbily Gran about. Really nice. I have the common streptocarpella saxorum which I enjoy very much but a variegated would be great to have. Don't throw your cuttings away...throw them my way ^_^
av_ocd_girl had a huge beautiful hanging basket of streptocarpella she hangs in a tree during the summer. maybe she'll post that picture again.
somehow I missed Fun TRail. I simply do not know how you all grow those african violets with such expertise! She would win in any show we have down here in south Texas for sure!
Hi Goldleaf;
I will definetly save you cuttings, next time around.
mrsbonnie
Me too mrsbonnie--pretty please^_^
Thank you, mrsbonnie...I would love to have them as I have wanted the var. streptocarpella for years. I am thrilled ^_^ I'll send you something nice in return.
me too , if you have enough. I love it! Thanks, Lou
i will keep you both posted.
mrsbonnie
All I have blooming inside is my Home Depot noid (maybe Optimara Anika ) almost done with this bloom cycle.
This starting over with all new plants is the pits.
Have a few leaves down tho, so maybe eventually...lol...
My new White Madonna AV has one beginning bloom but not photo-worthy yet.
Bloom, flowers...bloom!
=0)
Sharon
2manyplants................I have 4 trays down of av leaves and I don't even grow but a few (maybe none) african violets. In about 2 months, please please dmail me and ask for plants. I will send them to you!!!! I just like to grow anything.
I have to say that DG has the most wonderful giving people in the world. I went to the post office to mail some things and I had 3 boxes there I wasn't even expecting. Kelli sent me some awesome epi cuttings (with a name), Hillbilly Gran sent the biggest dendrobium I have ever seen........mine aren't nearly this big and I am beside myself with joy. Then, I open another box of Kohleria cuttings from Goldleaf and I am in heaven.................
Thank all three of of you from the bottom of my heart..........we have such a great group on DG...............
