Has anyone seen the weather for this Saturday? Supposed to be 70 deg.
Nice weather for this great gathering.
Kathleen, how much did you pay him? lol
D.
I know - when I checked last week it was saying 60s - sure glad for the upgrade! It says breezy in the afternoon - what else is new? That's one of the reasons we live here! LOL
Can't remember if I told everyone to wear good walking shoes. We have gravel & DG all over, sloping paths, etc. Don't want anyone falling or barking their toes!
The weather was beautiful today, breezy but sunny - so I have high hopes for tomorrow.
See you all then!
Kathleen
Ready to come to RU! Have to run and put my camera on the charger so I can take lots of pictures.
Pegi
I will miss all of you!! Think of me...kindly! Jo
We're not having chocolate because you won't be here, Jo!
I'll be taking pictures for you, roadrunner, I'm packing extra batteries! LOL!
You will be missed.

SW
You sure will be missed my dear friend. :-)
I promise you we won't talk 'about' you behind your back either......lol
Donna
Of course we will! We'll be snuffling because she's not here.
I have to go bake my bread now!
Kathleen,
I was thinking of your fresh bread all evening tonight. I haven't had any good bread in so long and I'm going to eat a piece tomorrow for sure. I'm also looking forward to trying some of those fresh biscuits that someone is bringing. hhhmmmmm good!
You had to go and mention the bread!!! I wanta go too!!!! Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Well, someone is quicker than me, but I'm off to bake up some cornbread for our Mini RU Feast! LOL!
WIB,
SW
In honor of the Irish, I've made Irish soda bread. :-) Which reminds me I forgot to get cabbage when I went shopping!
Well, I'm here and have my soup ready to go. Hope I don't get lost. See you all tomorrow!
Take the phone number with you! It's not that hard to find, just go slow when you're looking for our road, and ignore the traffic.
Hope everythings goes well tomorrow. Sounds like it's going to be a blast.
If anyone is interested, I am bringing an old fashioned, brass King-Sized bed headboard with me. I found it in an alley and it would make great garden art...whoever wants it can have it. It seemed a shame to let the trash guys take it. It's in good shape and has just enough "patina" getting started on it to make it a cool piece for vines, or whatever creative thing you can think of.
It was too dark when I got home to take a picture of it, sorry.
Is that what your bringing for a trade? lol
I guess !
I wanted to show you a picture we took today of the baby turtles. I put them in this container to eat and also let them bask in the sun for awhile. I have collected 6 of them from the garden and they are all doing well. We have finally found something they will eat....blood worms.
I have them living in a 20 gal. fish tank in the house and they love it.
I have to thank SW for all her information in helping me raise my little guys.
Donna
How sweet is that?
Very cute babies!
I am teaching my daughter to grow heirloom tomatoes; thought I would have a lot of extras to bring but somehow the bigger batch died.
I have exactly 4 plants to share today.
Pineapple Tomato
Indeterminate 85 days; abundant crop/ very flavorful; extra large 2 lb. yellow tomatoes with red streaks outside and inside. First come - first served. I don't want anything in trade; just sharing. This is one great tomato! And the plant will get BIG . . . you'll need some room but well worth it when you taste it. They have had no fertilizer other than some B1. They are hardened off and ready to go in your garden. Then fertilize them once a week dilute.
Ya'll are just TOOO good. Hugs Jo
Oh, Donna...I'm so glad you collected your babies. Now I don't have to worry about them anymore.
See you all in a few minutes.
Pirate
Well, I'm home; went on to San Diego and met up with my daughter for some quick shopping. No traffic jams going back to OC.
Kathleen and John,
Thank you for your wonderful hospitality; you have a little piece of heaven there...and your wonderful birds!
And your soup was wonderful - the bottom of the pot was scraped! Glad you had a good day. Did you see the picture thread? http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/962800/
Thanks again Kathleen for having this wonderful gathering. I am so happy that I was able to make it there before everyone left. It was the best day that I have had in a long time.
Okay, I am back on the hunt for chocolate basil.
