about MG seeds
the plants MG that we can see on exhibition or show in Japan , they don't produce seeds ?
In other word :is there Club or Folk group fan of good quality MG plants who exchange or sell seeds ?
Is there a Japanese Dave's garden ?
All the seeds we can find are less or more commercial seeds , sometime we find "home" hybrids interesting but the high quality seeds not .
Are they Japan National Treasure and they can not go out of Japan ?
Like rare kitchen races Higo Chabo - Chabo Daruma etc...
For exemple this beautiful plant do produce seeds ?
Dany
Dany - What is the cultivar name of that pink blooming vine you have pictured? Is that one that you are growing? Very pretty whatever it is!
Becky, these pic come from japanese sites.
I never seen this type of flower on DG american growers.
You see the flower on the background , so prety, half white and half brown-rose .
They have flower I would named Chocolate Hanafubuki .
Since 2000 show and before too they have beautifull new type of MG but the seeds don't move!
This pic I find on the MG forum is your , what's the name of this large yuguruma ???
Seito san, english garden club arigato. Please read d-mail from me.
MG Forum thanks for your D-mails, posts and views. I just got in from a trip.and will get back to business here ASAP.
Dee
Dany - That bloom looks like Youjiro Yaguruma.
I understand what you mean about the seeds not being exported out of Japan. I am surprised that there are not more websites set up in Japan to sell their seeds to the rest of the world. Though I know some USA small companies do sell the original seeds (in Japanese packs). But not very many.
Many of us here though have gotten our hands on some of these Japanese cultivars. And I have seen some really amazing and lovely cultivars created from folks in the USA right here on this forum. The Japanese have a long history and love affair with MGs. But I think many American gardeners are finding them to be worth growing and cultivating as well. So I think you will see more and more coming from the USA. :-)
