Hello ..Hello...Hello. St Francis is spreading the word to all the garden creatures, faries and gnomes ! Check out the baby frog in the lower center of the photo... How cute is that!
۞ Lingernot/Staynot Gladomeer ۞ #7
Awwww, that little frog is adorable!!! :-)
David, thank you for starting us all out on this adventure. Best wishes to you.
The good word is Lingernot has arrived!! I was a bit late getting
my mail picked up today and was surprised that he had arrived. I quickly rushed home to get him out of the box!! I could hear his muffled voice begging to get out of the box. Once I got him out of all the bubble wrap he took a deep breath, gave a big sigh and he thanked me with a big hug for releasing him from the box.
Here he is just getting out of the bubble wrap.( Picture is a bit dark ,
of course the flash is not working again!! )
He looks so cute!
I showed him to the living room and offered him a drink. He said he would love a glass of wine. He looks like more of a beer drinker to me, but I brought him a nice glass of Merlot. (a small one) Anyway, when I returned to the living room he was getting comfortable on the sofa. He is very tired from his journey.
On the other side of the hearth, is a little french Kitty named Catherine. She orginally belonged to my Grandmother and has lived with us for about two years. She is a very well behaved cat!! Just a bit of dusting every once in in a while..and that's it. Lingernot was
confused why this kitty did not Meow or rub against him in greeting.
I had to explain that she is ceramic. Our real Kitty is away at College with my daughter, so he will not be able to meet them.
My other daughter said hello as she rushed out the door. Hey... it's Saturday night..she is 17 and had plans... She promised to do something with Lingernot tomorrow. Perhaps he can help her clean her messy room!!!
I was watering all my African Violets tonight. Lingernot really liked
this tray of blooms. I was a bit worried that he might start swinging his hatchet! I can not get him to put that away. Anyone have any luck with that? He could really hurt himself. He seems overly attached to it. Well if it does not rain tomorrow, I have a large
butterfly bush that needs pruning. Perhaps he can help me with that.
Well, we are just going to relax tonight. I have found the perfect size
chair for Lingernot.. Another glass of wine by the fire and time for sleep.
We will be up early and hopefully have better weather to do some stuff outdoors. I know the fairy ladies are very anxious to meet Lingernot!!
Pixy, Lingernot said he had a great time at your home and hopes he can visit you and your family again someday!
Lingernot has arrived at another great place and seems to be enjoying it all. I'm beginning to think that hatchet is like a security blanket for him. He wouldn't lay it down here either. If you are going to keep offering him a wee bit of wine now and then he might not want to travel far from your place. He does look happy!
I think it cost me around $6+ to send him on to Pixydish. Maybe traveling in the west doesn't cost as much, WE WISH.
Lingernot has gotten a warm OR welcome and looks very comfortable. I love your Queen Bee.
Glad to see the little guy has arrived safely and is already settled in for new adventures! I'm amazed that he doesn't want to spend all of his time with that special, beautiful queen bee! I can see by the look on his face that he is completely enchanted by her.
Yes, I'd be worried, too, about the hatchet... especially after having wine. Personally, I think he carries it as sort of a security device. Perhaps it makes him feel more 'manly'? He slept with it under his pillow at my house. After the first night, I just looked the other way when he tucked it underneath his pillow.
And regarding your daughter's room, he refused to even enter my son's room. In fact, I think he may have been a bit embarrassed for my son. Hey, maybe it will actually relieve his mind to see that your daughter's room is messy, too. I think he was wondering if there was something wrong with my son. Maybe now he will know that this is normal human teenage behavior (even if a bit excessive in my son's case).
Sheila, that's strange that the difference in price is so much. I sent him on in the same box I received him in, but it was smaller than the one you describe.
Could be the smaller box and not using USPM made the difference. I hadn't mailed anything in a while so I just used the one that I received him in.
I think the priority mail must have been the difference. His box weighed in between 1 and 2 pounds on this end so priority mail was the cheapest. Also I can print out that postage from home, saving me a long wait at a depressing post office. I didn't even want Lingernot to have to go through that post office so I mailed him at a nice one.
LOL Pix, thought I was the only one who prefers a certain post office because it's nicer!
While over at the pond, the fish came out of their Koi cave to say hello. Lingernot really enjoyed seeing the fishes! He wanted to go in swimming, but I advised him that it was cold water..around 45 Deg.
He understood and remarked that he does not want to get sick while traveling for sure. Maybe he can go swimming when he goes back to California to visit sunnyg soon.
His last stop in the afternoon was to visit Ernie. Ernie lives on the other side of the yard. He and Lingernot spent the afternoonon..talking..talking and talking.. about Girls! Most of the fairy ladies were away today at the ballet & shopping, but Erine will intoduce them to Lingernot tomorrow. He is very excited to meet all the pretty girls!
Tonight we will just relax around the house. He told me he will help fold the laundry! We will see!!!
Mama Beth, please say you'll stay. I hope circumstances will improve pretty soon...
BeaHive, it looks like Lingernot is very comfy in his present surroundings. Oh yes, he's a ladies' man for sure. He kept Comfort and Joy in stitches for fairy hours!!!
Yet, for such a jovial fella, he would not let his guard down.. still clung to the hatchet!
He did take a few wacks at the butterfly bush today with the hachet, but I really needed the higher branches pruned. He can not reach those without a ladder. I really did not feel like draging it out of the shed. He was Ok with that..just went back to talking about the girls with Ernie. I hope the hachet does not scare the girls tomorrow. Maybe I can convince him to leave it on the porch when we make our rounds! Worth a try!
Good luck! Sometimes I think he talks to the hatchet, when he thinks no one's looking ;)
Oh my goodness! Lingernot is going to be introduced to fairy girls? He better watch out! They can be very, very tricksey and he is such a naive gnome. If I'd known, I would have had one of the older and wiser male gnomes have a little 'talk' with him before he left.
Looks like he is fitting right in and having a great time! He'll have stories, for sure.
Oh no!! I do hope the "intruder" that showed up here on Lingernots last night and instigated the party didn't have a bad influence!!! Humm, could he have given Lingernot some information about the ladies? One wonders!!
Don't worry nothing will happen under my watchful eye. My garden ladies although flirty, are very good ladies! Lingernot spoke with the gnome elder yesterday about the "garden rules" and promised to obey them.
The weather outlook for the next few days looks very dismal. May need to have the garden residents come inside for their visit with Lingernot. This may be a challenge as they are scared of the dogs!! Little lingernot is still asleep. Guess he is not an early riser like me. Who can blame him..it is dark and yucky outside!!
How big is Lingernot?
I think he's about 8 inches tall, although he looks tiny compared to "Big Boy" above !
Your correct. He is 8" tall. We had a great day today. Lingernot
woke up around 7 am and was rested and ready to go. The rain that was forecasted has not shown up yet, so we took advantage and worked in the yard. With hacket in hand, and before I could stop him ( he is quick) Lingernot had climbed up into that butterfly bush to help with the higher branches. He was just dying to swing that hacket!! He must get a bit stiff holding it up and over his shoulder all the time.
He had a visit from a little green alien. He really likes bugs! He wanted me to bring in indoors and put it in a jar to take it with him
as a traveling companion.(lower right ) He was a bit upset when I told him no.
I told him he was welcome to round up all the slugs he wanted and take them with him. I am sure sunnyg will not mind a few more visitors!! LOL..he declined..he does not like slugs..
Good thing that he did not go slug hunting just then as two of the fairies came by to say hello. The faries thinks slugs are GROSS!
Lingernot spent quite a while gabbing with the ladies. I think he was
very happy to finally meet them. He is a gentleman!! They may go see a movie tonight if the weather is not to horrible. Ernie may tag along too!!

Oh my! What a lovely ladybug!!! Ladybugs are my thing!!! Adore them, so Lingernot be very kind to him--he will bring you luck.
I can see Lingernot is having a great time, he sure is a curious little man. There will be Lingernot stories to be told by everyone. I'm glad he won't be traveling with all those yucky bugs that are around.
