Best/ worse/ ? did you learn today #64 visit with friends...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wow Trisha either you went to bed late and will bet to sleep in or you will have a long day ahead of you..lol

Love early morning, you can just take your time doing little things and enjoy without the rush of the day...

Almost there...just the knitting machine to get put away so that 3 double tables are available for all to do their project...I get more of a kick teaching then doing...

Says it will rain for the next 2 days so won't feel bad about staying inside and getting caught up on the costumes...next weekend I promise myself I'll enjoy....it will be Halloween weekend and I'll play at being a couch potato

Have to go research or listen more carefully to the news..is tonight when we change over the clocks?

The massive search they had yesterday for the young boy in Barrie didn't bring closer to knowing what has happened to him..parents must be frantic!

I've been telling you all about my planned day, what are you all up to..?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Amazing what one can find when they clean...

The can I started to paint ions ago to hold my birdseed...must finish it...I don't know about the fur that was stored in it..smells a bit..maybe if I set it outside it will refresh, after all it's been stored in the can for at least 6 years...lol

Ohh Janice this was the templace for your Dragonfly card...

Now the photo of birdfeeder project..like many of you, I've unfinishe dprojects...I'll keep it out and on the to do list...

Did I say I'd rest next weekend...

Morning all,

Is that a milk can you have there?
Looks good just as it is Betty...but of course I know you have to pretty it up some more.

I keep my birdseed in the green compost bin the town gave us. I don't have enough
compost (just being one) to use it.

Well I have been swimming three times last week. Plus one square dancing class.
Really getting my exercise in. Its is such a nice new recreation complex..and hardly anyone there from 11:30am till 1pm when my friend and I go.

Not sure what I feel like doing today..
I started painting some of the white stucco downstairs yesterday..but not really enthused about doing it..we will see..
Got the big Saturday newspaper to read and all the flyers to go through..Boy oh boy..what a lot of paper goes into those things.

Sendiing good vibes out to all of you and your loved ones who are hurting..

This is our new pool complex.

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

Oh how I wish we had something like that here. I NEED more exercise and love to swim but the only places are the Y (expensive) and the gyms (also expensive) and most of them have swim times during the day when I work. I would love a hot water pool to do exercises; they are great for the arthritis.
Well, I was up by 8:00, had a pot of soup going and two turkey loins in the slow cooker, cleaned the kitchen, took out the trash and ready to sit and talk to you all for a while. By Betty's standards I am a piker but for me (who loves to sleep very late) I am going great guns!

Betty I was on a bit late last night.....I don't know if you have read any of "Staynot and Lingernot" or the Desert Lawn threads. Laura and I were quite amused by them......we have a little frog Cedric and his little dog Bailey who thought it might be fun to travel to visit some of our DG friends so we spent the afternoon outfitting him for his travels and doing some other shopping, with a seven year old in tow....a very active seven year old! By that time we needed to pick up my DH from work and we are all tired and hungry. My son in law works at a Local Pizzaria so we went out for Pizza for dinner. As you can see from the photo Cedric had a good time! By the time we dropped Laura at home and got home ourselves it was late and what better place than here to relax and unwind?

Sounds like everyone has a very full day ahead! I had the Grand Daughter overnight (we do that on Friday Nights so mom and dad get a little time to themselves). She will have to go home earlier than usual today as I have to do flower arrangement for Church for tonight.

My husband finally has an office at his workplace....I promised I would go down and refinish the top on the desk and start on plans for decorating for him. By that point it will Church time, then dinner and the end to another day.......and our continued Prayers for everyone.

SOOOO funny, June and Jackie went to the church because they were having a silent auction and wanted to see if they had won a bid on things they bid - church had food so they picked up soup, roll and pie for me for supper...nice of them

Ann and Melissa went to Midland, wanted to hit a few stores to purchase supplies to make more cards before all these ladies who so enjoyed doing them hit the stores...they brought me Kentucky Fried Chicken - 3 piece meal....no sooner did they leave, Lydia called to say she was over at the Pizza Palace down the street said she didn't want to cook supper soooo ordered a pizza for her and hubby and guess what, so I wouldn't be hungry and wouldn't have to cook she ordered ME a small pizza...

Think I'll go hungry even if I don't cook...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Kyle dropped in during class, have a photo of him as a beer can but will wait to post the photo when we change it to the 'blackberry'...

Carol what a beautiful facility..no wonder you are spending time there..would as well if I lived closer...

We have a YMCA in Midland but yes it cost a lot and with working, crafts, family don't know I'd fine time to use it, but, when I retire (again) perhaps I will...

Trisha you will have to post the link for it..haven't seen it...sounds as though you've had so far quite the weekend...you'll have to rest right along with me this evening..

2 months today girls and it will all but be over..."Merry Christmas" are you getting ready...

Judy girl, you need an updated version, one with those new pearly whites...you've never said, have you had any problems with them since you've gotten them...

Girls, Judy got new pearlies a few days before I visited her and Liz in Chicago...kids cleaning their rooms?

Janice your meal sounds wonderful...home cooked as well....

Best go call Sharon, enjoy a meal - now which shall I have (smilling) and I didn't even have to cook, just craft...

Then I will put my feet up and enjoy what is left of today, tomorrow's another and it's costume day..no rest for the wicked or so they say...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Janice do you miss California..bet you will when the snow starts falling and ice cold temps...

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

It's Stacey and NO!!!

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty, you are so loved. Your friends want to be sure you don't go hungry.

The crafty ladies look like they were having a blast. Their cards turned out very nicely. They should be proud of them. And you should be proud of them (the ladies), too!

So sorry about your sister. I know you want to be with her but 100 miles one way is not a trip to be made after work and the distance you travel there.

Vicki, dear Vicki, sorry for the news from your sister. Wish you could have been in Little Rock a week ago to see the Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure. There were 45,000 women walking and a huge number of them were breast cancer survivors. This is a different day and age than when our mothers and grandmothers got the diagnosis. I'll keep your sister in my prayers and am sure she will be among those who live long and happy lives after treatment.

Judy, you are such a nut! Cute photo of you with the pumpkins.

(Cathy), MO

Just popping in to tell everyone hi. Non stop running on this end and I'm so busy it's all I can do to check out the coop threads I'm involved in. I'm so far behind I know I'll never catch up!
have a good day all.

Victoria Harbour, ON

tired Stacey, meant Stacey and not Janice, still had her in mind re the lovely doubet...she'd better watch or all the children will want one for Christmas...

Debra, how right you are about our mom's and grandmother's, they didn't have a chance once they were told it was cancer...now with the treatment, providing it was caught on time, survial is the prognosis...

oooops want to show you one more photo...hold on, got to go take it...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Cat, take a bit of time and smell the roses....what trades are you in????

Lydia brought me some roots that I have to keep over winter and she says they'll be tall red flowers, spread like mad ..know the perfect spot for them...

Ok OK anybody care to guess what this is??

Is that all the invoices from all you ordered this year Betty? HUGS BEV

Glenview, IL

hahha, yep got to get in the spirit of things...
LOL, you did see hand was on the hip over that one...

Betty, I second that those are invoices...geesh, I just toss mine away.

Wow, you card crafter sure had a fun day, what pretty cards you all made.
Well, on the cleaning, uhmmm, nope no cleaning today, Got interupted with my santa...the Velvet green is ready to roll,
trying to decide what it needs, something, lol will look at it for a while until it pops into my vision, or not...
Now I am working on a sack, Just hoping it will be the right size.

Now everyone ran off to FrightFest at 6flags great America, not me, way too cold and I am so over the rides.
had to giggle and said Nope I am watching Hocus Pocus, ROFLOL, just my speed of frighting.

Hi Debra, nice suprise to see you visit!
...Hi Cat, Glad you popped in to say hello too.

You hoo...Wonderhug how are you?

Oh my gosh, Betty, i am real sorry to hear about that the lost boy, my I hope they find him...Our guy was found, yes it is the same young man you and Liz met, Anyway he has been in the hospital, unfortunatley he has some kind of infection on his liver, they are not sure whats with it yest, running tests. He finally called Steve on Thursday. So we were glad to hear from him.

Yum, How sweet of your friends to bring you pizza. I really enjoyed a bowl of Ragotoni, lol or whatever its called.

OK you enjoy the evening...Can't wait to see the Beer/Blackberry costume.

Ok back to my sewing...

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Betty, prayer has gone out.

As far as sewing expenses go, there is a lot you can do without real patterns, like the empire waist shirts that are so popular for kids now, then there is the cost saving method of stitch ripping an existing piece and making a new one that is not full of holes or altering the piece for larger size etc… There is still fabric to buy though.

Mom, you know you can always say “no”, I can’t say I’ll like it, but I could generally find another way.

Terri, you’re right about the SHAMs work. There are days I’d happily go to a desk job than take care of the kids, but I know it is what’s best for Sage. I’m right at the boarder of needing to get a job; money is really tight. It’s really hard deciding which one is more important; material needs being met or the long term benefits of being there with your kid.

Janice, the one I want does straight stitch and as far as I know only straight stitch, I can do anything else by hand though. I want a sewing machine I’ll use, because it’ll save me time and make the framework of the clothes more solid, otherwise I’d just do it all by hand, yes I know I’m nuts.

I’d thought about the Diplomacy thing myself before.

Lyndonville, NY

Hi all,

Sorry to interrupt...but I need some help if you have a minute....and knowledge of plant identification.

I don't know if these are poisoness or not...and Huck was bad!

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/916885/

Thanks much!
Debbie

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

Well, Betty, I knew I should have driven to Ontario for your card class. those are beautiful and I want even more to know how to do them.
Your Missy is like my Kitty Bartholomeuw; just loves the dining room table. Thinks that is her place regardless of what I am doing. Thank goodness she doesn't do it when we eat there (but who can eat on a table when there are crafts to do?)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, so nice you dropped in, posted on your thread...sure wish I could help..these girls will attest, I've posted some of my indoor plants, not a nice sight, I usually kill them far before the kitties have a chance to do so...

Lydia was laughing, she on Monday when they were here painting (and I was at work) brought me a basket of plants she did, had a few I brought in, looking good but for how long, says every Monday she tours my house and waters them..lol...God bless her..she's one of the kindest ladies I've ever met..love her to death...

YOU didn't guess correctly, not invoices for 1 year...that was invoices for 1 day...all shipped to USA for Victorian Santa project...Judy if you look closer there are larger receipts they are for boxes..a few of those went out...you are doing 6 or 7 I believe so rather than an envelope I put it in a box...soooo IT'S IN THE MAIL!!!! truly...lol

Judy bet Steve was relieved to hear from the worker...that leaves him in a bind does it not...poor soul, let's hope kidney/liver gets looked after ASAP..

Ha/Ha/Ha know where that amusement park is Judy..just down the street from Cracker Barrel and not far from that beautiful castle type home we visited...see, visiting you puts me more aware of where the children and Steve are....

How old is Sage, Laura? Any photo's..know I'm tired and it just came to me, think you posted some with her in the garden correct? Beautiful child...wish I had a little girl to sew for...Pat who was here doing cards today showed me a photo of her grandaughters - 6 of them ranging from 12 to 19...no boys...me, all boys...

We were all so laughing..when Melanie and Kyle were here earlier, Melanie said that a woman on the street who does sitting in her home was near the window last night, she looked out, looked again, took second glance and here there was a gorilla running up and down the street in a monkey type fashion..wonder who that could be...

Just talked to Sharon..she is on such a downer..I had almost fallen asleep when Mom called to ask if I had been talking to her, hadn't as yet and most likely my dozing would have brought me past calling time so glad she called...

Sharon said she'd been fighting with son Brian, already told you I'd like to go to her house and CLEAN house of one item BRIAN!!! Sharon said the lady in the next bed heard her talking to him tonight, the lady was in for a heart attack, told Sharon to watch herself because she was heading for same...

She's down because it's been ions laying on her back, missed most of the summer..just want to be operated on...Monday they'll be in with more news...medical system doesn't move too quickly...

This young lady is tired and don't tell anyone, standing up for 9 hours without sitting, knees are aching, partly I guess because of the dampness / rain so a painkiller, the pie that the girls brought me for a treat and off to bed I go..long day tomorrow..

By the way, had the Kentucky Fried Chicken...

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Victoria Harbour, ON

Not the best looking guy to be running around the neighborhood, nor sleeping in my bed..lol...Noah's such a card..the grandson the most like me...

The are all off to a Halloween party tonight..Kyle settled for the beer can costume for tonight..who knows, maybe he'll keep it rather than my changing it to the blackberry..cross your fingers...

Off to bed,
Loved visiting with you all...

You are all my lifeline to better things...
Nice to have friends, both here and in cyberspace..

night/night
Good Lord willing, we'll visit together tomorrow!

Betty, Sage is 7. She is a cute kind, friendly, generous, smart, and defiantly my kid, even if we aren’t related by blood. When mom cursed me with “may you have one just like you” the powers that be made Sage.

Here she is earlier this year.
