Hi Sandy and Welcome!! My DD just moved home from FL., she's been in Tampa for about 3-4 years now. First thing this morning she calls and say's "It's cold..I want to go back!!" LOL
I would of went with her..it was chilly 27 degree's.
It get down to a chilly 54 this morning but already back up to 80. I am a third generation Florida. Can't stand the cold, it never stays cold enough long enough to get use to. I think it only get down to 27 degree's three times last year.

That one is bad but not as bad as the bridge up in Brunswick. You could get a noise bleed on that one.

Actually Wren, I grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is Zone 6, and here in Iowa I am in Zone 5, so it gets colder here.

PEI is such a beautiful province....the wild lupines that grow there are remarkable - and so widespread. I hope you enjoyed your time there.

Go to the plant files and enter Summer Snowflake . it looks like a cross of lily of the vally and snow drops. I am computer challenged so I can't get the web site up. they are one of the few bulbs I have. The others are amaryllis which stay in the ground year around, a type of narcissus one of the few which grow and return yearly I have been grown them and the snowflakes for over thirty years. I have been in Nova Scotia many many years ago.
We loved Nova Scotia and New Brunswick along with PEI but Gaspe is my personal favorite - fantastic food! Canadian people are so friendly!!!

True but did you not know that grits is a cure all for everything!!!! And we have blueberries too.
Wren I et me some grits in the good ole south and I can understand why they are so luved. ps. Mostly I'm a sucker for southern iced tea; totally, totally. I have met many 'weirdos' in my travels too but they are way outnumbered by the bestest of the best. I've often traveled alone and never felt afraid, even road tripping, in the states which is a blessing in a country.
Some of the weirdos are the most fun people to visit with, I loved some of those strange people but I am one too.. Mom and I traveled in a RV we only felt unsafe a couple of time.
Well, grits and matzo ball soup is a cure for everything, though not together. Covers all bases. :)

Do you know that you can't get buckwheat pancakes with anything but molasses in Louiseville, Quebec? The pancakes were wonderful but I'd have loved maple syrup.
Well we will not talk about the reaction I had the first time I went over it. But it is pretty at night.
Of course we do have some strange colored bridges. They say it is so people will know what bridge to take but I think it is because they are too cheep to use two coats of paint.
In Nova Scotia, some people put molasses on steak.
Molasses is one southern food group that I can do with out. I love the maple syrup or honey.
The molasses on steak reminds me of Dad. He would eat anything that was sweat but he would not eat his meat and I kept telling Mom to dip it into maple syrp.
What about sweet tea where can you get that besides in the south?
I like molasses in gingerbread. Or ginger cookies. Not on steak.
