I can't believe the poultry forum beat us.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

That would be great. You need to go back to the poultry forum and see the picture of my new cadet

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

With all your help I can't believe that you beat us again!!!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I can't believe it either. Perhaps the Birdwatching people can be entrapped er ahem invited?

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Sorry I have already been entrapped by the chicken people
Wren

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

LOL, We'll share ya!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Lassoing the horse folks?

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Well I am a little south to join the Northeast gardeners and I am a Florida Gardener . Well come to think of it I am North on Cuba and East of Texas so I guess I could count as Northeast.
Wren or Sandy the epi nut

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Hi Sandy and Welcome!! My DD just moved home from FL., she's been in Tampa for about 3-4 years now. First thing this morning she calls and say's "It's cold..I want to go back!!" LOL
I would of went with her..it was chilly 27 degree's.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

It get down to a chilly 54 this morning but already back up to 80. I am a third generation Florida. Can't stand the cold, it never stays cold enough long enough to get use to. I think it only get down to 27 degree's three times last year.

Sandy

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

hey wren, you're northeast of Orlando, everyone's northeast of somewhere.
My mom lives with my sis in Jacksonville.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

What part of Jacksonville? We have a bunch of DG gardener around here.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

They're in the development north of Mill Cove golf club which is is next to Craig Municipal airport.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

That's not to far from me, I live off Atlantic blvd west of Southside blvd. Do They belong to DG???

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

I have a GF in Atlantic Beach and split my trip between her place and my hometown, Miami. She is a block from the ocean. Jax is a great place! Love the Dames Point suspension bridge (need meds to make it over though). lol http://www.mikestrong.com/dames/

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

That one is bad but not as bad as the bridge up in Brunswick. You could get a noise bleed on that one.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

The New Brunswick to PEI bridge? Quite an experience at 8 miles long!

How high is it?. The Brunswick bridge I was talking about is in Ga. The Height get to me but at less I am no longer worried about ships hitting it.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Awwww Pirl, you just made me homesick....sniffle....

(breaking down sobbing uncontrollably....)

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Now, now remember you do not get as cold and can plant more bulbs and have more chickens where you are now.

Here is something to get your mind off of home. Do you have the bulb Summer Snowflake???

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

The Confederation Bridge is 40 meters high, not extreme at all and quite beautiful to cross.

Sorry, CMoxon! I didn't post it to make you feel bad. Maybe this little one we met on PEI can cheer you up.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Actually Wren, I grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is Zone 6, and here in Iowa I am in Zone 5, so it gets colder here.

I don't have summer snowflake...what sort of bulb is it?

PEI is such a beautiful province....the wild lupines that grow there are remarkable - and so widespread. I hope you enjoyed your time there.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

No kiddin CMoxon. The Maritimes.... let's just have a misty Canadian moment......

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Go to the plant files and enter Summer Snowflake . it looks like a cross of lily of the vally and snow drops. I am computer challenged so I can't get the web site up. they are one of the few bulbs I have. The others are amaryllis which stay in the ground year around, a type of narcissus one of the few which grow and return yearly I have been grown them and the snowflakes for over thirty years. I have been in Nova Scotia many many years ago.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

We loved Nova Scotia and New Brunswick along with PEI but Gaspe is my personal favorite - fantastic food! Canadian people are so friendly!!!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Yes they are and I loved it up there but they did not have any grits!!!!!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Thanks so much pirl and right back at ya. I travel in the states alot and never found a state and folks therein I didn't luv ^_^

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

or pe-cahhhhhhhhhhhns wren. But we have maple syrup ^_^ and blueberry tea ^_^

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

I traveled a lot and I agree with you but I did find that there is also a lot of strange folks out there too.LOL

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

True but did you not know that grits is a cure all for everything!!!! And we have blueberries too.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Wren I et me some grits in the good ole south and I can understand why they are so luved. ps. Mostly I'm a sucker for southern iced tea; totally, totally. I have met many 'weirdos' in my travels too but they are way outnumbered by the bestest of the best. I've often traveled alone and never felt afraid, even road tripping, in the states which is a blessing in a country.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Some of the weirdos are the most fun people to visit with, I loved some of those strange people but I am one too.. Mom and I traveled in a RV we only felt unsafe a couple of time.

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Well, grits and matzo ball soup is a cure for everything, though not together. Covers all bases. :)

I was trying to not brag on our bridges Wren. :) Dames is enough to make me weak.
L

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Wren, no they don't belong to DG, gardenin' is not their thang. Now if my dad was still alive, he'd be on here 24/7

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Do you know that you can't get buckwheat pancakes with anything but molasses in Louiseville, Quebec? The pancakes were wonderful but I'd have loved maple syrup.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Well we will not talk about the reaction I had the first time I went over it. But it is pretty at night.
Of course we do have some strange colored bridges. They say it is so people will know what bridge to take but I think it is because they are too cheep to use two coats of paint.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

In Nova Scotia, some people put molasses on steak.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Molasses is one southern food group that I can do with out. I love the maple syrup or honey.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

The molasses on steak reminds me of Dad. He would eat anything that was sweat but he would not eat his meat and I kept telling Mom to dip it into maple syrp.

(Zone 7b)

What about sweet tea where can you get that besides in the south?

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

I like molasses in gingerbread. Or ginger cookies. Not on steak.
