Has warmed up enough so we can plant our bulbs, just wearing a sweater--the planters, not the plantees.

I got mine in and had to rest up the rest of the day before bedtime.
I just got notice the Brent and Beckys order is comming the 21st.

What a difference a day makes, but I like it!!!
High of 60 low tonight of 42.
Took a long ride home from shopping( about 40min drive) love the crispness in the air with the smell of fireplaces going already.

Good morning all.

Do you believe this sunset....it's so early already!
The loss of light bothers me the most--well, really cold does, too! It was 31 at 9 this morn when I finally made it downstairs--got the flu & pneumonia shots yesterday, so I'll blame them for making me sleep so late!
With the sun shining through the greenhouse, it is already 83ºF here, upstairs, in the house. Love it when the furnace doesn't have to work!
46 and clear. Frost warning for tonight. I agree on the diminishing light - hate it!
I am also a short daylight hater .... 44 now they say going up to 56.... looks pretty from inside
:)
Beautiful day - a bit chilly, but great for working outside. I took in the tender plants, potted up some begonias from my window boxes that I want to overwinter, cleaned out the veggie beds and started some other cleanup.
I love winter but the shorter days are the pits.
Chilly today. high of 58 low of 39
I was really out of it today, slept late and took a looooonnngggg nap. I hope I'm not getting sick.
Its barely daylight but temps of 33* and the gray lawns tell me we had frost.
High for this sunny day will be 58*
What a beautiful setting you have photographed, Pixie!
Frost on the garage roof here, but not so heavy on the ground.

Thanks Willie, but I wasn't liking it much! lol I put the furnace on.
I had the furnace on this morning, too, Pixie!
Now that the sun is up, it's already 77ºF in the house here, and the furnace has retired for the day. Should get pretty hot in the house here, as the forecast is for no clouds.
I open the skylights to let out some of the heat.
Wish there was a way to bottle it!
We have a fire going. Bought and stacked wood yesterday.
I have a huge pile of oak fire wood from the tree the electric company killed when they indiscriminately culled historic trees left and right.
I have to get a bigger chain saw to cut through the trunk if the tree which they just left to rot behind my house.
Of course, this was AFTER I kicked out the toothless, meth-addicted jerk-water from Arkansas they sent to my yard to ruin it!!
OK ..... I fell better now ......
Oops!! Sorry!!
Fell should be FEEL!
No falling, yet!
We hit about 35. Frost warning again for overnight tonight. Now it's 41 and very breezy, but clear.
"You just can't get good help these days."
Sorry about your tree.
Sorry to hear that, willie.
Really Willie, so sorry. I know what it's like to have dogs and someone leave/make an escape route possible. It's maddening!! My dogs are usually good but the first few minutes of freedom they don't listen so well! lol
I can't imagine somone destroying your fence and leaving it that way until a reimbursment at a later date. The dogs need to go out today, not later!!!
well, I honestly fear my personal assessment of that individual was most correct.
I have worked with addicts and it is most obvious what folk are doing when it gets to that level of .... how shall I say ..... involvement.
What bothered me is that these folk are chopping down major trees with chain saws .... and here we test the sweet girl who works at the grocer wrapping flowers for drug abuse.
Something seems off with that system.
OK ... off soap box number 2! Whew. It really does FEEL good to vent!!
:-)
Good thing I am the patient, eternal optimist that I am ......
"Always look on the bri-ght s-ide of life .....whistle whistle whistle whistle ..... "
Oh Willie, you are so right ... venting feels so good!
We have had a really cold frost here for the past three mornings. Our yard looks an awful lot like pixie's field!
Currently:
Partly Cloudy
43°

Dewpoint: 24°
Pressure: 30.41 in. and steady

Sunset: 5:56 pm ***sigh*** shorter and shorter!!
Never got above 50 today, & it was windy--the walk across the dam was a quick one! The frost does look beautiful, even though I hate it! Willie, glad the druggie didn't crush my fence---bity airedale would have taken good care of him!
Too windy!
BURRRR again! 27°

Brent Beckys come tomorrow.
