2 more nice days predicted then a slight cool down for Friday.

South Hamilton, MA

Temp. was in the lower 60s so able to finish cutting back beardless iris foliage in comfort--another job done.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Had lots of vultures circling over my house again today. I count 15. I'm starting to think they're smelling foreclosures.

I was not the only one enjoying this beautiful day near the pond!

I saw a dead tree with at least 10 vultures perched. Couldn't stop to take a pic, but it was neat.
Foreclosures!!
Raining here.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Is that one of your cats Victor?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No, Jo Anne. It's a stray. My cats are indoors only. Very overcast and 57. Yucky day on tap.

Probably not, but a rescue group maybe?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No, three is enough. He is pretty fat so he might be someone's.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Good I hate to think of stray animals suffering in the cold weather.
We also have a neighbor cat that comes to visit.
I painted this last spring.

Did you notice our little gray cat Angel?
She's behind the lily in the photo.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Oh Jo Ann! You have a great talent. I've always loved seeing the paintings you have created. They are so beautiful and have a serene quality.

It's drizzling in my neck of the woods today, so the sky is very overcast. But it's still comfortably warm for this time of year.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

No JoAnn, I missed the gray kitty til you mentioned it.
We have over an inch of rain in the gauge this morning.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Wow! That's a lot of rain. I wonder if we will be getting that much. Probably not, as these storms lose a lot between NY and NH!

South Hamilton, MA

Cool & drizzle here. DH says they are not showers--feel like showers to me.

Its raining not brutal though. Just gloom and doom around here.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Calling for rain here tonight, you can feel it in the air. 69 right now high of 75

Thomaston, CT

Showery, but warm. It was lovely weather in Maine for us earlier this week--here's a photo taken from Ocean Ave.----just before Bush's compound--looking back toward K-port. My stepson lives in the poor area, but I like to sit in this place & dream. Saw a flock of white winged scoters, and a large grey seal, but off Parson's Beach which is a lot wilder than this peaceful cove.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I have a ton of digging to start .... and this looks like the week.

We had a nice amount of rain to dampen but not saturate things, so digging this week will be much more body friendly than last week was.

Yes, I do it all by hand, and while there is a bit to turn, it really isn't that bad. Hopefully, it will help to keep me young.

Besides, the machine is too noisy and smelly.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I agree with you about the smelly machines, but they sure to help when it comes to the larger stuff! My back has been giving me fits this week, so I'm not able to do too much in the way of heavy gardening. Hopefully, it will work itself out in time for the weekend. I have a very special area that I want to prepare before the ground gets too cold.

It's another superb day here in southern NH. Sure it, just 52 degrees outside, but the sun is so bright that it feels a whole lot warmer!

As of this moment ...
Clear and a beautiful 55°
Wind: NW at 10 MPH
Humidity: 43%
Dewpoint: 33°
Pressure: 30.05 in. and falling

And we have exactly 11 hours of daylight today!
Sunrise: 7:00 am
Sunset: 6:00 pm
