I grow Marigolds everywhere as a debugger LOL, I have never had any problems with mites or anything like that, but the aphids keep attacking my butterfly milkweed blooms, I just spray them with kens recipe and off they go.. Boy, those bleeding hearts are adorable! I have never seen anyone grow them like that!

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Oh Peg, just lovely!!! Did you get a good whiff??

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

awww Congrats Peggy! YAY! she is gorgeous!

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Yes, spicy but with almost a baby powder smell underneath. I have three blooms opening, so when they all three open it will really be nice. I'm just tickled pink (or yellow!) This is exciting. LOL, yes, I guess I'm easy to excite. Peg

(dana)Owensboro, KY(Zone 6a)

wow congrats to a new brugie mom im gonna celebrate with a margarita

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I'm celebrating for you Peg... oh ,the waiting was so long right?

Minneapolis, MN

Hotties, Hotties, Hotties! What a great day to live in America. LOL Today was 78 degress in freezing Minneapolis. Sorry AuntB, this one is on you. Poor AuntB Dmailed me thinking I was FReezing up here. Thank goodness for Global Warming. Or, maybe it's just that GOD is giving us a big warm hug. te he...oops. Becky, that one is for you.

I haven't felt this good in a long time. The "tri state homes" aka my neighbors were given canned tomatoes, zuchinni, fresh tomatoes, peppers and raspberry vinagerette and I got the "yes, Oh great one, we love you so". So I know now the purpose in my life and that is let there be food and let there be sharing.

By the way, thanks ya'll that live in the South cause your winds are staving off what is just one State away from me and they got 3 feet of snow. Love ya'll South!!

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

From when I first saw the bud yes, but the last three days it was opening more every time I looked at it. I actually just had a hunch and went out in the dark with the camera and it had opened. I cannot wait to see it completely in the daylight and get rid of that one leave that has the bird poop on it. Good grief! Oh, well. I wrote a story one time on one of our threads about taking pictures and having to weed before you took the picture. Should have checked more closely on this one. LOL. This is the first upclose real brug I have ever seen so believe me, I will be studying it closely. Now, I need the rest of mine to bloom.... Lov ya'll. Peg

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Wow peg he is worth the wait, take lots of pix and keep them coming. You are allowed unlimited pix of your first bloom.

Debra, hosta is one of the easiest things to grow, pretty much plant it and for get it. I have columbine in with my hosta also. They bloom and come back every year but do not get really big in the shade. I’ve never had any problems with them.

Time to get some zzzzzzzzzzz, good night all.

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

PLEASE.. To all of you who are smoking and want to give it up...Please try harder. I smoked for 30 yrs. Have not smoked now for 23 yrs. If I had not quit smoking, I would not be alive today. I have COPD as a result of smoking. Believe me,COPD is something you do not want. you cannot live without breathing and that is what COPD takes from you, your last breath. Dying from COPD is like drowning...Imagine it, see it in your mind and PRAY.
Love to all
Faye

clem that pic could be the cover of a nautical magazine

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Deb, do not be scared of hostas. I put in two new hosta beds this year and really like them. They change almost every day but it takes almost three years for them to mature and really get beautiful. Clem and Bonnie have posted pictures of some beautiful ones, and if you have time, check out hostalibrary.org. I can sit and look around there for hours.

Sandy, I think that is a great purpose in live... :))

Louise, you're welcome. I hope there was something different for ya, though "I heard a story," watch your mail next week! Tee hee! Sometimes being the listmaker is fun!

Clem, my bedroom window is right behind the fence behind the brug. I can open the window and smell it, and our nighttime weather has been so nice. No A/C or heat on right now.

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Faye I agree and I will pray!!

(dana)Owensboro, KY(Zone 6a)

and on the news they were saying that all nyc water comes directly fm the catskills to tap

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

LOL Peg, now I am excited!! I LOVED the seeds and cannot wait to sprout em. Gonna do most of em in winter sowing and the brug seeds with the rest in March.
I put in a new hosta this year I just love, called fragrant fire. Almost as good smelling as the guacamole hosta.

Hello everyone!!
I have finally had a chance to sit down..lol..I lurked this morning but was running late for church... then after church, had to water all the new goodies and the old goodies.. went to see Momma ., and came back to go to church. Hopefully I can get everything in the ground tomorrow. I was "careful" NOT to ask for all the trades that others made with me. I had like 39 to take, and was only getting 14 in return.. BUT all the sweet dger's wouldn't hear of us not taking some of their extras.. sooo I came home with MORE than I took..lol... Now I am wondering just where in the world I am going to put them all to overwinter..lol
Peg.. can't wait to see the Dr Suess finally make her debut!!
Bonnie.. speaking of getting jiggy.. LOL.. Kenboy gave us a lesson on the "sex" education. He ripped a perfectly beautiful bloom down, and we nearly had a heart attach.. but he was trying to explain what the "birds and bees" do
Donna... what a gorgeous scene to be able to look at everyday!! No color here... that is a sad part living in TX. There is one tree that I love that grows like weeds here, and most people hate it, but not me.. at least it gives gorgeous color!
Deb.. hostas are the easiest thing to grow.. that is IF you don't have an abundance of snails... snails will eat them like candy!
Clemie... our boy is soo cute.. I never get tired of looking at all the pics!
anjl.. how cold is cold to you?? I would have thought you didn't get that cold of weather... glad Sheldon is getting better.. poor lil guy
Audrey.. WOW and WTG.. 5?? lucky duck!!..lol
weese... awww... I had thought about one of those pet doors but living out in the country, I was thinking more of a possum, armadillo, raccoon, or SKUNK, coming through the door..lol..sio I decided against it
Karen.. I see you have just about all of yours planted...hmmm.. maybe you need to come help this ol procrastinator get started... I put my face pot out in the shade garden, but more in the sunny section. I want to put her "on a pedestal"... where she belongs!!..lol.. TY soo much for all you gave me!! You are a sweetheart!!

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Phyllis what month were you born? I was born in January 59! Good year! You get to travel with your hubby? That is awesome. My hubby is starting otr truck driving and I get to go for a few days in the spring.

(dana)Owensboro, KY(Zone 6a)

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Peg I will take a pic for you tomorrow if the rain lets me. It is a pretty hosta even in the fall decline. It does have that shape! Very vase shaped. Got it at the 50 percent off sale at the nursery.

The gas companies are now going through Pa and NY to lease as much land as they can for natural gas... Pa has lots of Shale deposits at a shallow level...So they don't have to drill as deep....

An 80 year old man abt 50 milesaway leased his land and they hit black gold...
They say he's getting abt $250,000 a month??

Louise I'm probably about maybe 4 hours from Niagra Falls...
Ever hear of Darien Lake??

The trees are beautiful now..
But in the same sense it's sad cause ole man winters knocking on the door..
And the Farmers Almanac is predicting a cold winter with above average snowfall...The first is really pretty..
Then it's a pain....LOL

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Beck, , check at 6:44 p.m. Girl, are we going to have some fun next weekend. LOL!

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)
