Hey Wolfie.. if you have any cuttings available.. would love a pink .. that is one beautiful brug. Love that color. I will probably be trimming a little off this Snow White but most will be very thin trimmings this year.. going to try to keep everything on it alive this year...LOTS of christmas lights for it. It is in the center flowerbed in my front yard.. north facing so it will not be protected from the north winds.. going to have to wrap and keep it well lit. Hopefully next year it will grow so well I can share with everyone.

I’ve been smoking for over 40 years, tried to quit several times and was never able to stick with it or should I say live without it. I haven’t had a cigg. since I went into the ER, I won’t say I quit because I really don’t know if I’ve smoked my last one, so I’m also taking that one day at a time. You never know Clemen maybe I’ll make it to the nonsmoking side of life. That will be so weird for me.

:( well, unfortunately I too am part of the 'smokin hotties' lol. I have tried to quit many, many times. did the gum and got addicted to the gum, so I went back to smoking so I could use the patch...got addicted to the patch ( went UP instead of stepping down in the amount of nicotine) and then while I was on the patch I started chewing the gum again!
can you say Addict?! lol!
I finally just quit quitting! I only smoke about 10 cigs a day, which is much less nicotine than I had on all the gum and patches...oh, even did hypnotherapy for cigs, and then went back for hypnotherapy for gum! ugh!
so I think I am just stuck with my 1 cigs a day for now. lol!

Morning
All you ru hotties will be sleeping in this morning. I slept all night again and that is making a difference. The toxins (meds) are leaving the body and now I can sit up longer and the room does not spin around anymore. There still is some more to go but it is much better, I can concentrate now and keep up with a conversation. Still very weak but I made it to the yard yesterday for a couple of hours even if I did sit in a chair and direct most of that time. It is going slow but now my goal is to attend Aidan baptism the first weekend of November. I want to be able to walk into the church on my own. If I can drive myself there it will be a huge plus. Lisa only has 10 days of leave left and she should go back to Italy then. We can get note from the Dr that will keep her here longer but she will (in military terms) go in the hole for leave time. It’s not fun to have no vacation time so I’d like to see her be able to get back on schedule.

Anjl, I’m about the same on the nicotine. I have tried to quit several times and the nicotine aids (gum, patch and inhaler) only made me want it more. I made it one time for almost 3 months so I know my 3 weeks now does not get me out of the woods. The only difference I see this time is I went Cold Turkey, I refused the patch in the hospital. I had a nicotine inhaler that looks like a mini cig with me but only use it for the first day or so. After that I was so sick I didn’t use it. They say it takes 3 days to flush the nicotine out of the body and after that you do not crave it anymore. I do want a cig, I wake up feeling like I should smoke one but it is more from habit than anything else now. I no longer crave the nicotine.

I have NOT smoked more than I have. I am a professional quitter. I have quit for 8 years and then when something emotional happens I start again! Funny thing is I really HATE smoking. There is nothing about it I like at all.

oh kim that sounds so fun .. my dh wishes he could quit the boat and be a chef but we havnt figured out how we can do that , financially . i would make half what he makes (im a hairstylist ) at the most .
anjl i know what you are going through my pug got ran over( EDIT: it was like 2 yrs ago not last year it seems like last year though ) and his pelvis was crushed ..the truck never stopped even though he saw a 6 mo pregnant girl and a neighbor kid running after that makes me the maddest ... long story short he lost a leg and it was a long sad recovery but hes almost good as new his personality is any way . his leg will be dislocated forever and his pelvis is healed but not in all the right places its crooked and the leg is missing . but the doc said youd never know what he went through by looking at him .
that ru looked like lots of fun . i cant wait to go to another one .. a hottie ru would be soo fun lol ..

we used to smoke ..i still want one every now and then when im driving or after i eat subway or taco bell ... only those places make me want to smoke .. i quit when i was preg . with #1 then started again when i was divorcing his father . and quit when i was preg w #2.. and havnt really picked up a habit again . my dh quit on my 3 yr olds 2nd birthday ... that was a superhuman feat . he had been smoking since he was 13 . and his whole family does . of all the things that he has made improvements on , that im proud of the most .
i love talking to all you guys and hearing about your days have a good day hotties !!i have more seeds to start . triple purple datura , hollyhocks and what ever else i want to get big by spring . ttyl

So glad you love it Joyce. I bought mine about three weeks before yours and Bonnies and it had grown to almost double in size in that time. It seems to be a happy camper. Gonna prune mine in the spring. I am going to take it to the shop for the winter though. It needs more room and I have brugs comin in this weekend.
G'morning all! On the subject of smoking, can't say I ever met a smoker who didn't want to quit. I've been smoking since I was 13, am 46 now. I've done nicotine patches, gum, nicotine patches PLUS nicotine gum at the same time (Dr. approved) accupuncture, accupressure, stop smoking staples in my ears, hypnotism, Chantix, cold turkey, stop smoking hand held computer that weans you off, snapping rubber bands on my wrists, cinnamon toothpics, Lavoris cinnamon mouthwash (was told it would work) audio tapes, books, support lines, stop smoking groups both live and on the internet. I still smoke. I know it is nasty but I can't help it. The odd thing is, in OUR area you go to an RU and just about every single gardener there smokes. Isn't that unusual?
Anjl thanks for the compliment on the blouse...I got that at Beall's probably 10 years ago and still care for it lovingly stored in the closet. Don't think I'll ever find another one like it and I love it too! Glad your furbaby is doing better. Sheldon isn't it?
Oh my lord, I keep looking out at the garage and first beaming about all the plants and then sighing because it's ALOT to plant, LOL! I was given 3 garbage bags alone of asian jasmine groundcover that I need to plant! Ah well, I LOVE IT!!!!!!

Joyce, I would put the DL’s in the ground. The frost will only kill the tops it will still be at least 2 months before the ground freezes They should have plenty of time to settle in.
Iris, I had an anaphylactic allergy attack to something I ate. From that I went into sever asthma and landed in the hospital for 10 days where they used steroids and another med to clear the asthma. The steriords although necessary to streghten the lungs weaken your mussles and take all the vitamins and minerals out of you. Last trip to my Dr after getting out of the hospital said that my body cannot handle the steroids in the quantities that were given so in short the cure was worst on me than the disease. I haven’t taken any meds since I got out and am now starting to feel a little better. The day before this happened I was running around after my 3 year old DGD, today I’m having trouble walking out the door to the yard.
My smoking did not have anything to do with the attack; I just could not smoke in the hospital and for now have not picked one up yet. Also smoking does not help if you are asthmamatic, which it appears now that I am.
Louise Asian Jasmine is an invasive groundcover with shiny, glossy little leaves like they use at most banks, hospitals and businesses to cover area. You can weedeat it to give it shape and keep it under control.

lol karen my dh used the rubber band snapping on his wrist along with cold turky and being on a boat with no access and no smokers lol .. he put on 50lbs since we got together and i told him to do the rubber band thing when he wants cake lol thats as addicting as smoking .. btw the 50 lbs dosnt bother me 20 of it is muscle from working the deck before he started steering .
Let me tell you how I quit! My sister got hurt really bad in an industrial accident. I was driving almost 200 miles every weekend to see her in intensive care in Nashville. I just knew my smoking was the reason she wasn't getting better, so I started cutting down. Went from 3 packs a day (100's) to less than half a pack of Now brand. I still couldn't put them down. One night I was sitting in my car in the parking lot at church, smoking one more before church. I said, "Lord, You're gonna have to help me, I can't do this by myself!" That was the last one I ever smoked! This was Feb. 2, 1984. I've never wanted another one!
