yellow and Pink and even red, they are all nestled in the flower bed, along the south fence I wander, together Duke and me..
A Brugs Life My Back Yard Monster Peach Versi
Oh Look Duke, I squeal with delight, for I have found a stray vine,I forgot I had planted, mixed in with the sweet autmn vine..the cypress vine flower standing out bold, gave a sweet greeting to me, because usually by now, they have curled up for enternity.. leaving behind a little pod, filled with two to four seeds, I inspect this little surprise, to see if there will be more..
i love this thread . i can hardly wait !!
I knew I should have left you there , I should have taken the risk, I should have trusted in your strength, your hardiness to forbear... But since it was to get so cold, I just couldn't bear the thought......Of coming out to see you, all shriveled and distraught.. so if you have to be that way, then I'm the one to make it so.. so come on my beautiful peach Versi, try to make a show.. I rushed out with the saw, had to hack you in two, I covered up your feet, with a burlap blanket or two.. I'll tend to your feet later, when work lets me be free. Right now, lets take care of the two other parts of your tree.. one half of that is in a tub, companioned by your tip, your Y and bloom and bud. So here we go, I'm dying, as always when the wind blows cold, like you I am crying, we want the days of old.. blue skies and sunshine warm and bright, watching hummers and butterflys in flight, all we can do my dear , is dream... of Spring, ....and think that it is near..
here you are in your new home, surrounded by your friends.. can't you go ahead and bloom? Just raise your pretty head? don't pout my pretty baby, don't wilt and weep too much, for I will tend to you as before, perhaps a little too much..If only I would have known you when, a baby stick you were, behind my beautiful locust tree, I might have put u in a tub, and then we would have been free.. free of worries and problems, just drag you back inside, but now I know better honey, I promise you don't have to chide.. I've learned a little more of you, I know what not to do.. don't plant your brugs in soil too far away from you.
You are with the cestrum, the hibiscus and lantana, you know them from afar, now you can get to know them better..
They all are happy here, and hopefully you will be too.. just keep on looking pretty, you know what you have to do.. just give one full bloom, then I'll strip you clean, and start right from the beginning as we prepare for Spring..Your corner will be occupied, by your Mothers feet.. I bet she comes back for you, stronger than we think.. for I am going to cover her with leaves, about three feet deep, right on top of that burlap blanket, thats covering you mammas'feet. Now you are a baby, Mamma is out to rest, lets hope she makes it thru the winter, lets see who does the best!
Debra, that is so sad..Don't blame you for tearing up. I did too.
Yeah Debbie sad but then agian there is next Spring!
Geeze you really did it:(
I'd get those big leaves off in a hurry, she needs all the food she can get. Does she still have a second bud? Versi's like to bloom as a flush, sometimes they will slow down to let the other buds catch up--it the other bud isn't close...JMHO
Poor you, we all feel for ya.
Did you get her covered tonite?
Ahhh....was so hoping to see that pretty bloom...much as I adore fall this would most certainly be the part of it I don't like...blooms trying to make their appearance and the temps keeping it from happening.
SNIFF...SNIFF
Oh my Joy oh Joy oh Joy.. I went rushing down to see you this evening and there you were.. all perked up and in bloom. I guess you have settled and are comfy now, all in your own little room.. thank you Peach Versi for giving to me, the most beautiful sight I've seen, a bllom from you as my reward, even after I was so mean.. you are about to give another, and this time I will leave you alone, I'll let you bloom in your own time, and get used to your new home.
I have learned alot while watching you grow, patience is a virtue, as you well know.. I must keep learning All I can, while keeping you safe from the snow.. when we get back outside in the spring, I have a new place in mind, a nice spot on the patio, full sun most of the time.. in front of me so I can watch, and guard you oh so fierce.. I hope we can get along till then, your tip, your trunk and me..
Great things will come to those who can wait with patience!!!!
You need to come by and get cuttings before the first frost, and which they say may happen Sunday or Monday Night!
Debra, you got a beautiful bloom, I’m so happy you got one even inside they are wonderful.
Thanks, Donna, can't really say anything except I know Brugs are really tough plants..
I guess this plant might not be a PV, sorry for my ignorance, but what ever she is ( you guys name her for me) I am glad I have her.. No way am I going thru and changing the name in the whole thread LOL She was still My Back Yard Monster Brug, and she will be again next year! Debra
Debra - congrats!! SOOOO glad you go to see her beauty before Jack Frost makes his appearance.
Well Mom....congrats on seeing your baby bloom!!!! I have so very much enjoyed this thread. Call her what you will...a rose by any other name yada yada...she is still your baby! I look foreward to the sequil (SP?) come spring. (((HUGS)))
Thank you , all of you for watching my "baby" grow.. I have never seen anything like a Brugmansia grow around here, only in Canada at Niagra Falls.. where I fell in love with them. Those were trees, tho.. huge trees that my daughters and I stood under and smelled and squealed with awe and delight and wonder. I still want to know how they maintain those big brugs up there, since they have the lake effect freezing snow and stuff. Hmm?
Just lovely Deb!
Too Late;; I am hooked! ;D and I am glad!
