Marion and Jaye and Phyllis .... I bought my first quilting mags at Wal-Mart today. FOUR of them!!!!

Won't be around much the next couple of days. Have to make a rag quilt by tomorrow evening! Will be meeting DD at 6am Sat. morning to set up her booth at the town's fall festival. She's a big advocate for rescue dogs, spaying/neutering, fostering, etc. and will be at her booth all day. The quilt is to raffle off to raise some $$$ for the cause. Will try to take a photo before leaving with it (assuming it gets done).

Debra, just those mags? Go to the library and you'll be able to immerse yourself in the latest books, and check the publication years. From there you'd know which books you'd like to have copies of. Isn't Debra typical of a giver? She made things for the first time, and they are all to be given away! My first 5 quilts were given away too.
Hope no more sistahs fell under the weather. It's no fun feeling sickly.

Have a dog, a cat and a bird.....from childhood to the present we have also had guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, squirrels, horses, cows and more so I am probably not allergic...at least not that I am aware of...LOL

Debra you up on me I have no quilting books..LOL..I look at stuff on line but hey way to go

as for news of the results nope no word yet...the driver that rode wtih me to work last week while her car was down told me she tried to get the results out of them as they have picked but have not said who yet.

Cindy you be careful walking around wtih your ears in the wind don't want you fallin over and getting hurt.

Gee trish you sound about like me with animals that I have had around over the years.
as a kid.....Dogs, cat, fish, parakeet , guinea pig-goober was albino, ducks, chickens, lamb and those were all in town the last 3 were only there til they started getting bigger

with my kids we had.... gerbils, hamsters, cockatiels, iguanas, goat, horse, fish, cats and down to only 2 dogs now. LOL

Yep Phyllis, we're lucky to be able to access anything online.
Years ago, I had to rely on classes, and when classes were not available, I resort to books, not even mags. Hard to get quilting mags overseas.
There are still a few good teachers from the old days who continue to explore new techniques and wrote helpful books.

Rest well my sistahs. Hopefully this dark cloud that hovers over some of us will be removed by tomorrow!

Kel's picking up 3 kittens from the vet. All are neutered and spayed yesterday plus getting their feline leukemia shots. Next week, 2 more. Wish I got a friend who's a vet like Sis has. Kel's without some toys this Christmas!

For my bedroom, I plan to knock out the wall behind my bed and make is more of a master suite. Not sure if they saw the pic of my bedroom, but the walls are a mustard golden color, the bedspread MIL is making is a wine/burgandy and the other color is olive green. I do need a larger TV for it;) The 13" isn't doing it;)LOL-JK:) Does that answer my buddy or was there something more specific??

Morning Ladies...

I'm better this morning... well, better than yesterday... slept very well last night, even after sleeping most of the day. It couldn't have been exhaustion because I haven't done enough lately to hurt me. I think sometimes our bodies just crave sleep to heal what ever is wrong with it... so, I went with it, and pushed the water and soup... and today I feel better. I'm still a bit crampy, but not like yesterday.

OH, I so pray that LK is safe on the road... I'd just die if anything happened to our friend.
I sure hope also that she forgives some of the messes in my house, cause I did NOTHING yesterday to clean up the messes Don made while he was off.
Oh, well... her room is clean... guess that'll count for something.

Hi,from northern Michigan! I am on vacation in Harbor Springs and the colors are just beautiful. Not full color here though and I thought there would be. I have had a wonderful time while my friend is at a conference I have been visiting the small towns and going though little shops. Then in the evening we find a good place to eat; she likes food as much as I do and we are gourging on fish up here. Last night it was an old German resturant with authentic food. We had a terrific smoked whitefish with homemade rye bread as appetizer and then shared whitefish/veggies & gholosh (SP) and potatoe pancakes. Yum, Yum.
I am very impatiently waiting to get my name for the recipe box swap as I found some wonderful recipe cards wih roosters and chickens and chili peppers on them and know that some of the gals have those kinds of kitchen. I want to got back and buy but can't untilI I know WHO!
Have a good day. We are on the road this afternoon, headed down the Michigan coast to an Apple Harvest Festival and then on home tomorrow night. I will NOT want to go back to work next week!

I know we all fret about our houses being clean but I was told many, many years ago if people come to see my house instead of the people living there, then they really aren't friends!!! Live by that motto now.

Marion... I've stopped worrying about what my house looks like... if the bathrooms are clean, then it's passable... LK will understand, I'm sure. I did manage to get the big chunks picked up though.

I've moved the lap top to the kitchen so LK can chat with you and visit with me at the same time... hope she can multi task... I sure don't want her sitting among my messes in the craft room. I almost lost my computer in there one day...LOL
