October Blooms
Wow! That is a beautiful little plant! I received Alsobia cygnet and A. dianthiflora in a trade a couple of years ago and loved them but unfortunately they both went bye bye when I got some buggy problem! Don't you just love those little ruffly edges on the blooms?
One I'd like to have I see Rob's has for sale, Alsobia 'San Miguel': http://www.robsviolet.com/alsobia_san_miguel.htm
I wish Alsobias didn't hate me!! I love their blooms! I've had several Alsobia's including the Chiapas and I've never gotten one to bloom, not ever. They have long since gone to new homes! LOL
This is the first bloom on strep Ruby, a plant I received from Kim in Maine, love the beautiful color of it.
~Brenda
Does anyone know what happened to av-ocd-girl? I tried to send a dmail to thank her for a leaf I just found. It is in perfect condition and I am sitting on the floor opening mail. She sent it a long time ago (as in weeks)..........
I also received a cutting for Alsobia 'San Miguel' from Lou . . . I will go home tonite and see if I see any buds on it!!
Very pretty Ruby, Brenda!
Strep Ruby is Gorgeous ... a fitting name with that deep ruby color!
Ruby is one of those that never quits blooming. Love her!
I saw where av-ocd_girl's membership was just renewed today. So She's around, may just not on this forum. Lou
I was spelling her name wrong..............thanks, Lou..........I still have your seeds right here by the computer........excuses, excuses is my middle name. What is that saying about "The road to hell is paved with good intentions".............
All the time the seed pods were ripening I thought it was Iced pink Flamingo..........it is Iced Wine.........
Hi All,
Seems like I have not been here in years..LOL I spent all last weekend wicking my plants and did great. I did not get to wick my Kohlerias or Sinns... Will try to get that done tomorrow.. I have a few pictures to post and hope you all enjoy them...

Susan

Brenda and Nic, Very pretty streps... All are just so pretty... What gets me is how can something so beautiful not have a wonderful smell??? I know a few have a smell to them but I can't ever smell anything when those bloom...
Hugs,
Susan
No wonder you haven't been 'hanging around on dG'! You have been working on your plants, Susan. Just love that Sweet Talk..............(the rest, too, but that one is fantastic)
Thanks Gail, It was easy to work on the plants as I could sit down as my body has been playing games with me.. I have to say today was a much better day then the last 8 days... Hope it keeps it up...LOL
Hugs,
Susan
Susan, your streps are gorgeous! Spin Art looks absolutely psychedelic! Fire and Ice is great looking as are they all. The one you couldn't think of the name might be Bristol's Agitated Eel...very pretty also. I love seeing the photos on the forum as it gives me a realistic view of the plants and flowers. Of course, it only adds to my want list.
Ruby...very elegant, bmedel...
SuzyQ: Wow! You are doing so Great with the Strep's! They are all so Beautiful! You need to post a photo of your entire plant stand!
I forgot I sent you some of that Red Dragon Flower Huernia: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/61056/ Oh, and it's not a Cactus! It is a member of the same family of plants as the Hoya! You are doing good with it, mine hasn't bloomed in awhile but I still love it. I have had this plant for many years and always called it my peanut cactus because the little mama plant was labeled that way! And, the looks of it always reminded me of peanut shells!
I will try to get a picture of my stands tomorrow.. There is allot more room on them since I wicked my plants. I knew the plant was not a cactus as you told me before but I could not remember what it was so that is why I called it one..LOL
I am going to post a picture of cuttings I have now in soil and all of these were grown in water until they had roots and now about six of them in soil have babies coming up... I have lost less in water rooting then I have in soil-less mix. I will keep you all posted as they grow...
Hugs,
Susan
Wow, Suzy ... You have really gotten bit by the "Gessie" bug, haven't you? Look at all those leaves rooting - What a great job! Sure wish I had that kind of patience!
