Terry – I missed your comment about the beach. I live on a small island in NE Florida. It’s a beautiful place. I’m originally from Houston (forever ago) and still have lots of friends that live there and in the surrounding area including the beaches. We are considering moving to the mainland after seeing what happened to Galveston Island with Ike. I would hate to loose everything we have to a storm. Luckily I‘ve never really had to evacuate, it’s been close though. I just love this island and the people.
Time to bring out the Halloween stuff! I’ll be busy this weekend! Will have to get Jeff to open up the attic to get my boxes out.
Christmas is less that 3 months away! Woo Hooo! LOL!

Cool pic, Sharon. I have a very hard time leaving friends, too. I've had to dod it many times. When I was in junior high and high school, mom moved us a lot. My brother and I had to learn to make friends fast.
LOL Terry, I keep the cat fur and dander cleaned up cause I can't stand it on my clothes. My cat is kinda shy, she hides from new people, then if she comes up to you after a few hours she'll just lay beside you on her blanket. Once in a while she'll want to lay in a new persons lap but not very often at all.
I never moved. We lived in the same house from 1976 until my mom was remarried in 2000. I think she ended up selling the house in 2002. Somewhere in there. So moving from the city I was born and spent 33 1/2 years of my life in to completely moving across the country is a big deal, I don't have any friends here lol! I kinda like it!
I'm not the best housekeeper. ☺ Everyone who comes to my house gets kitty hairs on them. Most have their own kitty hairs and leave them at our house! LOL
lol! I try to vaccuum and dust every Saturday but if Dave has to work that night it makes difficult. She has her "own" 8ft couch so that gets vaccuumed too.
My cats are outside cats that come in and visit. My dad goes nuts if he sees a hair in the house from one of them. Course he goes nuts over cobwebs and dirt and my room. LOL. There's no pleasing him but we outrank him 2-1 so he backs down.....most of the time.
lol my mom's that way. When we moved here I had the cat in my car with me the whole trip, which she did very well, and when we made our second stop in Flagstaff AZ we couldn't find the litter box, so I told Dave to just not worry about it. She woke us up at 4 in the morning needing to go, she will not go in the house without her litter box, she'll hold it as long as she can and I guess that's what she did this time. Anyway I got up and walked outside with her. She stayed right beside me, which I was worried about, and she went to the closest flower bed she could find, then walked right beside me when she was done back into the room. At my mom's we stayed 2 nights instead of 1 and they have a dog so I kept her in our bedroom and I was shocked, she didn't scratch on the door, or meow, or anything. Just laid on the bed and greeted anyone who would walk in with a happy meow and smile. Mom was happy too cause she can't stand any sort of fur, or hair, or dust, or pretty much anything.

Celia – I’ve moved many times over the years. I really love living here. There is a lot of natural beauty even with the dagburn developers. I understand progress, but this little “Paradise” is only 13 miles long x 4 miles wide at the center. Not a whole lot can be done without destroying what people come here to see. The South end of the island is called Amelia Island (for the uber wealthy-it's very expensive to live there) - the rest of the island is considered Fernandina Beach. I'm as far North as one can get without being in Georgia, takes 20 mintues to drive to St. Marys, GA (another beautiful place). Here are a couple of links:

Anyone who comes here has to deal with the fur. I have lint remover thingys available in every room LOL! I have a friend I call the Queen of Clean. She says it her sickness. She loves to clean. I don’t mind when she comes over for an adult beverage and starts cleaning. I don’t have to pay for it that way LOL!
I like to go on the birding web-sites where you can listen to their songs. Drives Badness crazy. She paces and looks around, behind everything and chatters. Then she starts saying “wooo” “wooo”. It’s hysterical.

Anyone want my job? Actually I used to love my job, but not anymore. Some things happened a couple of months back that have made me re-think the way I feel about the people I work for. I have a problem kissing a$$ and have lost all respect for my bosses. I have "discreet feelers" on the look out for me. Have to be careful living on a small island. Almost everyone knows your business...
I need a nice quiet job where I can go home at night and turn off the phone and actually get some sleep. If I transfer depts. within the same retail co., can I keep my pay rate?

Know what you mean on the job thing. Actually i still love my job, it's the people or some of the people need to look at the realistics. I have been full tilt since last week, work late, through lunches, in early...man had a problem with one of the machines and all the sudden a certain person is spewing about "her" deadline...um excuse me, we are are working time with a machine, lol hot off the press and into envelopes...I am a full 2 days ahead of schedual...OMG. Got another huge one coming in due friday, so LOL, I am rocking and rolling over here, its the way i like it...
was sooo bored all summer. Decided today I am taking a full lunch break.

My sister Carol was killed instantly in a car crash 2 years ago.
It is our custom to have a Ghostfeast or memorial in her honor for the first five years. It gives her family and friends the oppertunity to rekindle and bond together with her memory. We will pray and dance, feast...
A reason for us to get together, you know as everyone goes seperate ways when someone dies...And we also beleive that she will be present. Last year was the first, very symbolic and we could feel her there. Will see if I could find the photos later.

Celia – I would love to go back to work in retail, but only Monday – Friday. Good luck with that huh? I think you would keep your pay in a transfer. Only thing is, I wouldn’t take a pay cut in this economy.
Judy – what kind of work do you do? That sounds like a nice way to remember a loved one. I’m so sorry for your loss.

Sharon, I got fired from my job. My boss said it was because I wasn't doing a good enough job on details. Apparently no one else thought that- except probably those in Admin. lol. But it was a relief. Even in this economy. Too much stress and I was tired of trying to live up to standards that are almost impossible to meet. 3 weeks today. I
have found a part time job though that I am gonna apply for. Don't know if I will get hired but it sounds like something I could do. It's basically accounting, consulting and spreadsheets. Or something like that. Not my area of expertise by any means but for part time M-F, no holidays- Heck yeah I'll try it!! Especially if the pay is worth it.
Well, I didn't get the pics of my grandma's yard today. Not big enough change yet. But my brothers are supposed to be out there moving rocks around some more on Sat so I will go out then again with the camera. I did manage to get pics of this really nice lake area that's nearby. Has a meadow around it and you will find lots of wildlife in there. I don't know how good the pics are though. Still waiting on the software.
I had that same problem with a camera not compatible with my new computer/Vista. I just went out and bought a new camera, used the cost for the computer as an excuse to just spend $70 on a camera "I've already spent X grand for a computer, what's another 70 bucks for a camera?" lol I love the methodology!
I've been busy getting ready for this conference this week, and the RU I'm going to on Saturday. I'll be out until Sunday, unless they have a computer in the hotel I can get onto.
And I have no news, as usual.

My job is a great job. I love doing it but when the bosses come in and say you have to catch X number of people in X amount of time? I'm sorry, I can't predict when or where a "bad guy" will be. maybe some people can but I can't. And the on-site boss has taken to not telling me things. It makes you look stupid when things are going on and you're clueless. Well, MORE clueless than usual! LOL Soooo....I don't know, we'll see.
