Yea, I did something right. I only used the zip lock because I couldn't put the top half of the bottle back on w/o taping, so I bagged them. I so appreciate everyone's personal experiences of trial and error. It helps folks like me to succeed at new things w/o losing too much. Not to say my cuttings will survive, but right now they seem to be fine. Maybe I should put my surfinias in a big zip lock. They are just in trays.
Patrob, if they survive I will bring you one.

Hello all! One last reminder about door prizes. You can choose to bring one or not but you must bring one to get one. Crafts, gift baskets, seed baskets, bath goods, homemade foods, anything nice is acceptable, you don't have to spend alot. Just make it something nice that you would enjoy receiving. We will take a moment after lunch and gather together to pass them out. Can't wait to see you all! Karen
7 more days and counting!!!

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. You girls and guys have a great time. I will be thinking of you all next week. Everyone be safe in your travels.
I'm gonna divide up my lemon grass today anyone interested?
I would like a little of it, please Phyllis.
ok you got some this stuff has taken off great this year and I have to move it before it shades out all my herbs LOL and the thai basil has seedlings all over the place now too ...hahahahaha
Thank you Phyllis... I had to look it up first, but I have a perfect place to put it.
I'm also looking for a start of Bronze Fennel if anyone can spare it.
mmm my fennel is still small but the lemon grass is shading it so that doesn't help and I'm not sure what type it is
Phyllis, please bring me some lemon grass. Mine finally died, and I have really missed it. Thanks!
okie dokie goin back out to get it dug up now LOL
Going out in a bit to see what else I have to bring next week-end. I do have two birdhouses with plexi-glass backs that adhere to a window so you can watch the birds from inside. Thought it would be a great idea, but all my windows have screens and I like to open windows whenever possible, so they won't work for me
I'll take one my big kitchen window in the center does not open ..would entertain my DH LOL and IF no one else ask for the second one I could give it to the grade school I drive for
Got you down Mibus.
My kitchen window doesn't have a screen and I would love to have one if Mibus doesn't mind of course
oh silly girl I said IF no one else wanted the second one ....get it IF no one wanted it LOL
Got you Karen.
Mibus2, I'd like some lemon grass.
Tuesday i'll finish digging everything up to bring. Maybe Wednesday if i can get everything else together first. Still plan to bring all plants on my list.
We're supposed to get a good rain tomorrow. plants should be easier to dig. Someone reminded me that our first average frost date is the 17th. THAT is way too early and all houseplants are outside still.
Our dogwoods have turned a beautiful magenta. Last year the colors were almost non-existant. So maybe we'll have good color this year. If anyone plans to come this way for fall colors.
Does anyone save their seeds for the next year?
I try to save seeds of everything I grow. Mostly my petunias and zinnias. I have butterfly bush seeds that an article said I should be able germinate. Then of course there are the brug seeds, columbine, and this year cypress vine seeds. I'm still learning about seeds and cuttings. I do it all by trial and error. So far I have been lucky.

Thanks
LK

tracie
Sure thing Linda Kay and Tracie.. I just picked some that are ready, and I'll probably have some more before next Saturday!
sure thing Vickie will pot up for you too.
my columbine has never bloomed :-( could I get some seeds for next year to try again?
Okay, I got out today to see what I had and what had rooted. So, unless Imanageto kill them during the next week, I will have the following. Please post if you would like anyso I can get them marked off the list. Don't want to promise more than I have.
Gourd seeds, esp. apples -
2 Queen's Tears Bromliad
4 Alocasia odora -
The following are rooted cuttings, at least I think they are rooted, since they are still looking very healthy after a month. Some have died soI guess these are living.
4 Haight Ashbury Hibiscus -
5 Tropical Hibiscus, lg. pink flowers
4 Varg.Tropical Hibiscus, small red flowers
3 Bleeding Heart Vine
4 Dutchman's Pipe Vine
3 Pink Moonflower Vine, at least I think this is what they are
Catlady, may I have a Haight Ashbury hibiscus?
One HA down, three to go.
catlady,
could i have:
Haight Ashbury Hibiscus and Tropical Hibiscus, lg. pink flowers, pretty please? i dont have a greeenhouse, though. do you think they would make it in an unheated barn?
tracie
Catlady, me again. I would like a tropical hibiscus also, if there is enough. I moved to Texas from Florida three years ago and I miss that plant. I didn't think they'd grow here. Gardening in the tropics and subtropics is a lot different than here. I learning though. Thanks, Jeanne
Pam did you remember that you were already bringing me a Haight Ashbury Hibs? Wasn't sure if I should mention it....but I didn't know if you remembered and I would like one if you had forgotten. I would also like a Dutchman's Pipe Vine and a Pink Moonflower Vine. Let me know what extra you'd like from me please.
I would love one of the red tropical hibiscus, and a dutchmans pipe, and the Haight Ashbury Hibiscus if you have any left.
Thanks
LK
