Larry will fall asleep on the couch, then wake himself up snoring. Then hollar, "What, What" It is so funny when he does that.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL... Don falls asleep in the chair at the bar sometimes watching tv after dinner... he almost falls out of the chair before he gets up and moves to the bed... that's kinda funny to watch too.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Going to have to start collecting Bicycle Helmets....DH says to keep our mitts off his helmet, he isn't wearin' any lady bug!!!

Had a little steak for dinner......that potato sound soooo gooood! DH always wants Rice a Roni, will only have Baked if I force them on him!! He just doesn't know what is good!!!! (must be why he is so thin and I'm built like a fire plug huh?)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oh yeah, Kel woke himself up with those thunderous snores of his. He swore he never heard them!!
And to add insult to injury, Lola snores too!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Don doesn't eat rice at all... he does potatoes or pasta... and he's still a toothpick...

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Such a musical group at night, aren't they?

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, Ladies... I'm off to bed... gonna watch some history channel till I fall asleep...
I'm sure Don will wake me up when he comes home... he can't help it... he's a man.

Night Night

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Well Trisha, I don't blame him! Maybe he would wear one if it's a turtle? Ladybugs are too feminine!
Nite BJ, I can't keep these eyes open for too long neither.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Night all, I love the History Channel but we gotta finish Dancing With The Stars first.....
Thats what I usually do at night.....turn on the History Channel or FBI Files and fall asleep in the middle of it....wake up enough sometime during the night to hit the off button .

Nope, not even a turtle........I did put a clay Oscar the Grouch on his handlebars once...told him it was to match his cheerful personality...lol....had one of the little froffies (like the one on the book) on my bars:)

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

You all are too funny!! I have never heard the phrase full as a tick B4!!LOL Well, I snore and we have a pug that snores, so DH is just SOL-he has gotten used to it-plus he farts in his sleep, so I guess we are even:)

I too had a bakerd tater and cabbage for dinner-just wasn't in the mood for meat...

Thank you for my am laugh-a-thon:)

Good morning everyone.
BJ, I have only been out to water my plants, that is all. I need to trim some bushes trying to crowd through my lattice fence, but hubby will have to do that.
I do have my foot up while on here talking to you all.
Mibus, funny you should ask about knee problems. I had a total right knee replacement 2 years ago today! And my other knee has been giving me fits. I just figured it was the arthritus settling in...

Good Morning Glory, SIstahs!
Niece, keep sticking to that kind of foods and pretty soon we'll see you in an ashram like those Hindu vegetarians!
Sometimes a no meat diet for a few days is good for the body, get rid of toxins. Mine must be clogged up :*>
LK, my MIL is supposed to get her knees and hip fixed. When that happen, you won't be seeing me much around here. Right now she's waiting for Medicare to kick in, not at that age yet, to cover the costs.
Hey Sis! I think I see a flock of smaple heading for the North? Aren't they supposed to go South at this time? They have purple feathers, right??
Kel just holler it's time.. catch you all later.
Have a fantastic Tuesday!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Good morning! Sorry to flake out on everyone yesterday. Had a young man who does some yard work for us here to supervise then got cleaned up and dinner ready. DH and I had an appointment for one of our $125 conversations last night. (therapists charge around $125 an hour so when we need to 'talk' I tell him we need to have a $125 conversation - they usually involve tears) We had our talk and things are better. Just need to get back on track sometimes. He's had an unusually tough year - started off with his mom in the hospital for 5 weeks then she died, his two law partners were having issues and the firm decided to split during the middle of all that, the split took a lot of planning and organizing, it just took effect the first of this month, etc. Not that he didn't have a good reason, but he can get really distracted and the two of us end up in a situation that I call 'parallel paths'. We are in the same place at the same time, but not 'together'. does that make sense? All's well now - sorry to get so serious this early in the morning.

Morgan, the young man, is here so I need to go outside and work with him for a while. He's such a big help. He's the son of some friends and does work for us when he needs money and we always need the help.

Will check back in throughout the day. Kathy, good luck looking for those purple with green striped smaples. I'll watch for them here.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Debra, that makes perfect sense. We travel parallel paths here too sometimes, and have to have a sit down eye to eye meeting of the hearts. I always feel better afterwards...

Wish I had a "Morgan" to help me here... I'm too old for this kind of work.
(no I'm not, I can, I can, I can... it's all in my mind)

MORNING everyone !!!

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

yep a good heart to heart talk bridges the gap with us too.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

I fell asleep last night before Don came home, and didn't get a chance to show him my hurt toes till this morning. He doesn't seem too awful sorry for me... probably because I'm not limping, and I almost forgot to tell him about them... guess I should have called him yesterday when it happened, while I was hurting worse. My bad... now there's little sympathy.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I've only had one cup of coffee and all this heavy conversation!! Morning all!! :-)

Yes, you do need those $125.)) conversations, Heart to Hearts, Eye to Eye type every now and then. So in a few minutes I am getting dressed and going to have one with my sweetie. It will be a little one sided but I am sure he will be listening!!!

So now we know the smaples are purple with green stripes or is it the other way around? Thank goodness I know what to keep my eyes opened for now. Kathy any luck? How are all the little ones doing?

Tink, if you were from the south you would know all about "full as a tick", wouldn't she Deborah? Or even "grinning like a mule that has been eating briars"! Gonna have to educate you little one!!

How is the toe BJ? Linda Kay, the foot?

Oh Trisha, if you hubby won't wear a ladybug helmet , I know someone who will. Me, me, me!! My neighbors already think I am nuts so why change.

Jaye, maybe you should nap while Kel works? Think?

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, my toes are going to be fine. Just can't put a shoe on yet. I'm not going anywhere, so, who needs shoes?

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

shoes are just an inconvenience

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

YES... they are... and half the time I can't remember where I pulled them off last time I wore them... I'm so bad about not putting them away where they belong...

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

BUT, of course, if I had them on yesterday... I wouldn't have hurt my toes.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

i can never find mine either. i usually leave them outside

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh like we are all good about putting ours away? I bet there are alteast 3 pair of Kim's under the breakfast table right now. Want even tell you about mine. LOL

I hope the weather continues for a while--oh so nice!!!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, let's see... I have two pair here under my work table in the craft room... another pair on the floor by the breakfast bar... and a couple pair at the foot of the bed... I figure if I scatter them around, I can always find a pair to slip on in a pinch.

My mom would scream at me if she heard that reasoning... so, shhhhh... don't tell her.

Raleigh, NC

Morning Glory!

well, sold both vehicles yesterday - son's old aerostar is gone too, from in front of my iris beds. The weeds were 3' high behind it. so now gotta go catch up on weeding, trades and helping Dad sell his old surburban. Mom would so love to see that old thing gone.

Debra, hang in there. At least he talks and you work on the problem.

I am blessed with a man that talks too much! when we first married, it seems to me he listened a whole lot better than he does now

the ex did neither. So at least yours talks. Something is still there. but every couple goes through that "parallel" feeling sometimes, when life gives you no space to be together emotionally.

(giggle) I'm in favor of new nighties whenever this happens. the slinkier the better. but if he's too stressed out, those don't work, it only heaps more pressure on him. When our company was failing, I used to leave notes at his seat at the table, "whenever you're feeling in the mood, there's a new nightie. but I understand and will wait for you. All my love is there for you, just let me know what you need." One time it made him cry. most times, though, he'd be ready for me within a few days. we tend to do our talking lying in each others arms.

Our kids started saying, " they have to go talk privately." And they'd ask, "what were y'all laughing at so much? you never tell us the jokes."

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

....but I am the Mon here and I did teach her better. LOL Can't get onto her as I have alteast that many in the "moat" coming in from the carport. Just would open a huge can of worms for sure. Just ignore in this case.

You just never know when you will need a pair to slip on and this way they are always convienent.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Congrats Bon, for getting those spare cars gone... I know that makes you feel better.
Always makes me feel better to get the "extra" stuff gone from here... I'm not a pack rat by nature, but it always seems to happen around here...

Yep... notes... I leave them in Don's lunch box sometimes.

Raleigh, NC

forgot to add, my sister has been giving me hand me down shoes lately, since I'm cash deterred of late. she has great shoes but somehow they all hurt my toes- I think the last that fits her is a tad long for me and hits my ball wrong, even though we're almost the same size, we would buy different shoes depending on the last used.

my shoes tend to be under where I sat last, or at the door. a pile of very old very dirty shoes greets our guests at the door!

It helps to know others go through the same type issues. Thanks for sharing everyone. Marion, that warms my heart that you are talking to your sweetie. Bon, you're a good therapist. Some sage advice offered here this morning.

Popped in to replenish the ice in the ice chest. It's only 10:00am and getting hot. BJ, I probably do more than I should (that's why my neck is screwed up) but there is a limit. Morgan and a friend of his have been a big help to us. They help DH with large projects like cutting up an oak tree that fell this weekend. Morgan is helping me dig up sod and relocate it in preparation for extending a bed. He's a strapp'in big boy and very strong so he can do a lot of the heavy stuff I can't. Better get back out there - he does require supervision.

That's Morgan in the white shirt/shorts helping wrestle a japanese maple out of a pot last year. His friend is in the red shorts. (we've oogled over him before - maybe another thread)

Debra, how old is that Japanese Maple in the picture? I have several but they aren't that tall. Just wondering how long it will take for mine to get that size. Yep, I remember that post way back....wrestling with the tree in that pot. I'm sure those guys felt like they were pulling a stuck elephant out of a man-hole. LOL
