Garden Photos Part 38
Thanks. Nice birdie shots, Allison.
Thanks for the compliments on my drawing, everyone. I haven't checked out this thread for a couple days, and I have some catching up to do. Been busy, and yesterday was very tired. Tuesday night went with a friend to see the new movie with Samuel L. Jackson called Lakeview Terrace. Wouldn't want someone like that for a neighbor!
Everyone's pictures are great. I especially love your shy froggy friend, Victor. He's cute!
Allison, your Halloween set-up is cool. My neighbors down the street do a graveyard every year. I drove by there tonight and it was up. Looked better than ever. They make it better every year. I have to go down there with my tripod and get some night shots of it sometime. I don't decorate. Don't have the money or time. Other priorities. Since I'm limited on both money and time, I would rather spend it on my gardens.
Jan, I am impressed, your paintings are great!
Boojum, yours are excellent, too. I love the ceramic tiles. I did ceramics for years, and I loved painting with underglazes. I have done many scenes using textured glazes and underglazes, many outlined in gold or white gold, on lamps and vases. I'll see if I can find any pics of them. Most are prints and would have to be scanned. I may have a few already on the computer.
I love the pics from your trip, Shelly. I love the country out there. I lived in Nevada for 17 years and Arizona for 4 years. Love it out west, but where I lived it wasn't so flat. I lived in Reno and Fallon, NV, and there were lots of rolling hills. Also, Reno is right at the eastern edge of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Very beautiful there. Then I lived in the Phoenix area of AZ, and there are lots of hills and mountains around there as well. Lots of canyons and arroyos and great places to hike. Certainly great for the creative spirit.

Karen, love to see your ceramic lamps and vases. I used underglazes, glazes and china paint and gold as well. I made mostly large murals for walls or backsplashes for kitchens, all custom. Some hotel and club bathrooms. I never knew what I would be asked to paint. I wish I could have made a decent wage at it, although I love what I do now, too.
Alison, such sweet birdies. I've been seeing juvie bluebirds daily where I park at work.
Well, there were only 2 pics I have on my computer of my ceramics. This first one is a southwestern canyon scene with a cougar that I painted with textured glazes and outlined with gold. The picture does not do it justice. It is one of the few pieces I still have, which my mother bought from me before she passed on. All of a sudden that makes me really sad.
I also like to decorate eggs, making scenes inside of them and painting scenes outside as well. Here is one I did with a scene inside of a wolf and birch trees. I painted the birch on the back of the egg, then put a twig inside that was painted to look like a birch. I took the wolf from a magazine. It's a photo that I cut out and pasted to a heavy piece of card stock paper. I used this glittering snow made for ceramics for the snow inside.
they are all beautiful
pretty amazing
Thanks!
I bought an egg several years ago ... a christmas ornament.... it has a nativity scene in it.... it amazes me that you can create such a work of art in such a tiny space
Hmm won't post.....
WOW.
Everyone is so artistic, I would never come close.
Gorgeous!
very nice Booj.
The pastel peony is really nice.My fav.
wow those are all pretty Boo
Thanks, it's fun to remember my other life!
amazing Boo - Your winter scene would look nice as a Christmas card!
Originally it went into a local hot tub place. Then recently became a work out gym and people got to see it again.
Wow! All gorgeous. I suggest a dedicated thread. Karen - love your subjects. I like wolves, moose, bears and even some deer!
Victor, great idea. I have started one here:

Great - I saw it.
Victor, deer in paintings don't eat your garden ;0)
Booj, amazing all. The wine mural is lovely. It would fit well in my kitchen.
Karen, the eggs must require the patience of a saint. You mom's cougar is outstanding! the style really appeals to me.
Nice Robindog
Wow, boojum, those are great! I especially love the peony in pastel. One thing I love about glazes and underglazes is that they never fade.
