South Hamilton, MA

Wet & cold. In the 60s.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Oh, My, Anita! Did your elephant ears make it through with all the water? How dreadful for you! We had some ponding temporarily, but it seems to have soaked in now. I have dug up my EEs and my Caladiums, and now must get busy trimming the leaves, sorting the bulbs and getting them dry for storage before we leave for Fla.

Not bad here today....rain on and off and 60ish, but I think it's coming BIG TIME tonight. I like to sleep when I can hear the rain, so that's ok with me. I'm doing my Brunswick Stew from my garden finale tomorrow with 2 neighbors coming for some stew and biscuits and applesauce cake for supper.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I always bake applesauce cake this time of year.
I also like pumplin cake and make my apple pies with a strusel topping made with Ginger Snaps.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I used ginger snaps on my ham last easter..... it was real good

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

yummm

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I love Alton Brown.
We are having a rainy day all day. I'll finish a small painting and read my new book.
Its the Oprh book "The story of Edgar Sawtell" I'm into the second chapter and like it a lot.
I'm not much for reading but this one is great.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I made all this crazy food last easter..... so much leftovers randy and i were eating them all week after... but that ham.. only two or three pieces were left.... worth all the effort... the family gobbled it up

66 here now.... going up to 74... just a passing shower and supposed to clear up later on today... hoping to get more of this halloween stuff out ... we have the icicle lights that are purple... always a two man job by our driveway... hopefully we can get that done

64 degrees and damp

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Raining this morning, my sister was able to have her bon fire last night, so we had a nice time.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

rain soaked in and everything so far is fine. 69°, but humid and sticky. I might need to kick on the a/c to dry things out.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

kind of gross here too... a/c might not be a bad idea

South Hamilton, MA

Still wet!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Thinking of all that may be in Kyle's path. Take care.

70 here and sticky.

Glad the bonfire came off without a hitch. I remember the hayrides my dad would drive. He had more fun than us going up and down hills. He loved to hear us scream. Our youth group always had one with a big bonfire afterwards for hot dogs and marshmallows. Then the family had one. Poor DH only went once cuz of his allergies. He couldn't even walk in the barn.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Well it rained from Friday noon time until Sat. morning and then stopped for a bit. DH and I took the canvas covering OFF the boat, took the Gazebo down and put all the lawn furniture/yard art away in case Kyle hits us directly. It's doubtful but I'd rather be ready for it than not.
It started raining again last night around 5pm and is still raining now. Get up and it's 65 degree's and raining but im NOT cold!! Very strange for Maine at this time of the year. Usually if it's raining in Sept./Oct. im FREEZING!

Back 40 yesterday...bottom of the field.

Thomaston, CT

The sun is finally out---it reached 68 today & was humid, but now a cool breeze is up--I was so sick of the rain--last night it bucketed down. Took my walk, picked up some nice chestnuts, took a photo, but I can't find the file again--I hate this computer! Glad to hear your getting ready for FL, Louise. We may go in Jan. for the month---have to find a place for the dogs.
