oh figures I missed everybody! We went to Omaha for chinese buffet and shopping. I cannot believe you guys are getting frost already!!! We usually don't get frost here until some time in October but who knows with this wacky year! Came in through the gate tonight and my yard is all scented with night blooming Jasmine. The smell is wonderful!!!! My brug buds are now about two inches long.

Karen.. was it you on the ceramic knomes?.. I painted ceramics for 10 years.. sold them at shows etc. More than likely.. you have a "bisque" item.. been fired only once.. glazed ones are fired 2x.. and usually they will crack if they get water under the glaze.. but not fade.. Look for pinheads..like an air bubble on the glaze.. that is what causes the cracking.. or crazing as it's called...

i'm in zone seven and mine have survived in pots for the last two years, but i'm putting them in the ground soon, they do well in the ground. and the lamp looks antique, but ns, i hope to find an indentifying mark on it soon
Good Morning Hotties! Welcome Billi! I said I wasn't getting on DG before work.... mowed last night and ate a bite with DD and conked out. Kim, I left buds on a 6-7ft tall tree-like cutting last year and it went on to bloom in the 5-gal bucket. There was NO top die-back on the bucket brugs. I NEVER change the water in the 5-gal bucket, only add to it as it evaporates... I've mentioned this several times, that I've put an aquarium aerator in the bucket and left the bucket without the air and both ways were successful. I put my long cuttings in the bucket and they are WELL rooted by spring. For you hotties trying to winter over the "stump" in the ground, you might try throwing an unopened bag of mulch over the top of the mulch you put on the stump. Especially if it is wet in your winters. Cold and moist means root rot... I tried this last year in my zone and was not successful, but I do believe it was from the cold, not wet. I'm always trying to push my zone up a couple numbers.. So sorry you PA girls are getting frost this early. Becky nice to see you back on line out there camping in your yard.. I can't mention everyone by name, I need to skeeedattle and get to the salt mine. Happy Thursday.

I have no way of knowing what cuttings I'll have to share until I cut, which could be this weekend or Halloween. I've been posting blooms and plants since Thread#1 or 2? and naming them, so if any of you have a yearning for a certain thing and haven't pre-arranged with me already, d-mail me, I'm happy to share in small quantities per Hottie, if I have things available. I may ask for postage before I send as gas for my car is eating up any extra money I could hope to have. Most of my rooted cuttings will go to the ru as they are too big to send economically. I do not send big boxes of "whatever I have leftover" as this is an indicator that they will be sold at a flea market or on ebay. If you want something for personal enjoyment and sharing with friends for free, then I'm more than happy to try to get you what you want. If you're in it for profit, please purchase the plant from a vendor or me. If you are a recent new Hottie and new to brugs and don't have a clue what you want or why, I will do my best to help you get started with an easier more tough brug. I've sent stuff out before and find out later that person sells them at market. I'd felt a lot better if I was just told that up front instead of leading me to believe they wanted my cuttings for their personal enjoyment. Sorry to be "harsh" and I guess it's okay to profit off my generosity, but I don't like being lied to.

My foot surgery was for heal spurs, and bad ligaments. I am on vicadin, for awhile. ^_^
I had my surgery last Friday, it will take 8 weeks to heel, then I get to have the other foot done!!!! I will be so glad when it is done!

Not every DG'r is known to us like the Hotties and there are some bad eggs. This is real life, although we are insulated with love here in the Hottie's room and yes there are greedy and manipulating people among the thousands enrolled in DG, some you even see at RU's. Wolfie, bless your heart, but just letting you know that your lamp is a mass produced product. I had 3 of the same exact lamp in the 90's but the flowers were green fading into gold. They were even sold at Walmart for a time, so no antiqu-ey......

Then I see them on ebay or learn on other threads, they spend weekends selling their freebies at farmer's markets.
