Garden Photos - Part 37

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

Thanks, pixie. I love that green eye. I bet it self seeds.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Beautiful orchid, Booj, and I love that Gloriosa Daisy with its green center. I want some of those for Fla. They are perennial down there.

Lots of beautiful leaves there, Victor! You have some lovely trees and shrubs!! So many of yours are pretty in multiple seasons....good choices!

Pretty blooms, Sherrie! Interesting colors on your coleus seed stalks.

Beautiful glads, Pixie. Ours aren't blooming much yet. Those are such pretty colors!

Jan - I'm afraid if I tried that tactic, I'd be here for the winter!! LOL

Thomaston, CT

JM colors just lovely, Victor. Booj---loved the orchid--mine are still outside. RedChic, is the fuchsia a perennial for you? I've had fuchsia come up the following year, but they never do well. Louise---loved the color of the plants headed for FL--Sherri, very pretty hydrangea! Here is a pink aster just opening.

Thanks, Jan. I'll try to remember to show you how they look when they are planted in Fla. I have a game plan for them.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

boojum, that is definitely a rudbeckia. An annual, but it might reseed for you. Do you keep your orchids outside? I only have two left, but I used to bring them out for the summer. Got tired of the critters that they brought back in...slugs..yuck!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

On another subjest sorry.
We must have had high winds last night.
I looked out the livrm window to see Vibernum cracked in half and fallen over, same for the whole shrub in the middle of three planted at the corner of the house.
Can't say Im sad, they were on borrowed time anyway. Diseased so they were going out.
I had hoped my DD would make the decission but she is traveling this week so I am going to have them taken out and replaced with an Acer Beni Hana, there will be room left over so any suggestions?

Tough to see the entire area from that shot, Jo Anne. I'm visualizing JM Beni Hana - showing its 'cutleaf' while you watch!

Peachy Cream is my color! What kind of rose is it?
My gloriosas usually last a few years then reseed everywhere. This is one I actually will promote to reseed.

Here is a variegated sedum---a noid---but I'm hoping it will spread into a nice clump.

Robin - that's really pretty! I've never seen a variegated sedum! I could go for that!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I like that too, I like a lot of variegated plants!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Me too, Deb! I like interesting foliage. Maybe that's why I like coleus too.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I like variegated also. Just have to be careful not do overdo it. They should stand out.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

wow I like that variegated sedum too

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Me three!

Thanks so much all, you're all great! Now, if only I could figure out the exposure for night pictures. I tried to take a picture of the full moon last night and couldn't get the shutter speed off the automatic setting. Instead of the moon, it looked like a lunar eclipse! lol sort of fun.

I love everyones pictures. Victore that Dawn Redwood is Huge! Not in your yard is it?

I love the stump Brook.

RobinDog...Yes the fuschia is a perennial for me. The one in that picture is "hawkshead". I only have two different kinds of them that I think are worth a darn. Hawkshead does pretty well, but sometimes the winter makes it die back completely to the ground. The other one I will have to get back to you on the name of it, but it looks like a pink Hawkshead and it absolutely thrives. I believe that I've had hawkshead 7 years now. when it dies back completely, it waites until the very end of summer to bloom. If it doesn't die back that much, it blooms much earlier really well.

a few pictures from yesterday and today.
