Another 1/2 hr. and I'm off, must kill 1 hr. in Barrie before my class but I've a stop to make at Rona..need to pick up a glass block, thin set type as I want to make a village wreath with it...so that ought to take a few minutes and perhaps a trip to home depot.......now really I should be saying trip to make-up store, trip to get my nails done etc. but no not me, it's off to construction material stores..lol
Still no new from Suzanne..she did say before she left that labor had stopped but she went home as she had not slept all night..now I hope this child holds off till the weekend for 2 reasons...
Lenny, Suzanne's husband is on the road and from what I hear he'd be the only grandparent NOT there, would hurt him terribly, 2nd. Suzanne has appt's tomorrow morning with clients and Trustee's..appts she can't get out of and only she can do...so do hope that baby can hold one at least 1 more day!
Best/ worse/ ? did you learn today #59 visit with friends...
Judy,
Is your "Pretty Plant" (the one with the purple spikes) maybe a Fireweed? They thrive in the more Northern States---AND, absolutely cover Alaska!
ves---What is the purple flower in the picture you posted? Is it a Hyssops?
Overcast here today----I think Ivan is clouding us all over. Imagine we will get more heavy rains as we did from Hannah. We sure need them--as long as they are good "soaking rains".....NO deluges and Downpours!
I am starting to feel the need to start cleaning up my Garden......
Gita
Just got home, long day...had to mix my genesis paints, get myself organized but did manage to paint a bit..so it's off to bed, tomorrow it's a visit to Carol's...just so excited...
Hello everyone, will wait till tomorrow at work to gab..
Still no baby..
Judy thanks sweetie for the lovely card and love the photo of Judy/Betty/Liz...will frame it for sure...
Gita..you'll be ahead of the game if you start already..I'll wait till our Thanksgiving which it Oct. 12th weekend...
Can't keep eyes open, so going to say
night/night
Happy Birthday Marion!! Had a hard day so I'm going to bed. Take care everyone and I'll see ya tomorrow sometime!
nite nite Crissy
Morning, yuk slept in by an hour, bed was toooo comfy this morning, so off I go..talk when I get to office...
Gita the plant has 2 names. Lemon Mint and Horse Mint. I have never had it go to send. I think it blooms to late here. But you can get the seed at Wildflower or Pinetree Seeds. Gosh hope I remembered them right. Both are catalogs I get. I just love the looks of it but there is no smell. from all those gorgeous flowers. I need to bruise some leaves to see if that is lemony smelling.
Good morning everyone. Hope you all have a wonderful day
Good morning, Cat. I'm headed out to plant irises, dls, and hostas. BBL
We're thinking of putting our beds to rest and you are all out planting...
which also means you probably have sunshine...how nice!
Rained most of the way to the city, sky is so dark, know they are calling for rain for the next 3 or 4 days, part of Ike bringing it in..no major storms though...
Carol as long as we get 30 minutes of dry weather so I can tour your gardens, forget it, brought camera and umbrella, can do so even if it's pouring...
Wouldn't you know today is one of those days that I'm as big as a house and presure is killing my back...have a pillow here in office might just take it with me as back support in the car....
Have been doing crochet on baby blanket all well so for a change and with my cupboard panel/paints still in the car I decided to paint for a few hours...
So that will be my day, how about the rest of you?
Waving to everyone and going back to look at the flowers...
Got word they shipped the hyacinths from the coop I'm doing! Hopefully they will be in tomorrow and I can get them all boxed up to ship out to everyone on Monday!
I enjoy doing the coops, but I worry until I know everyone has their box. Thinking of tackling one for Amaryllis next!
Sounds like a lot of responsibility Cat..especially being plants...Echoes sent me a box full of plants a few weeks ago and I was amazed at how she had packed them to protect them, little bags holding water and taped, all looked as though they had just been taken out of the garden, in fact some looked better than some in my garden...lol..
Love Amaryllis...
No doubt while travelling with Carol this aft. I'm sure to find a special plant to remind me of our day together...
Have a good visit Betty!
I'm here!!!!!!
You must have wondered why I hadn;t said hello.
Well...I went downstairs to find the Santa project we did last year..so I could show it to you Betty..and I ended up making things nice to take you down and show you the Christmas Room. Thought you might get a kick out of it.
I also was looking for the stand for the Garden palque I am giving you.
"My job is beginning to interfere with my Gardening". LOL
So Santa is hanging on the wall..(I did a wall plaque..not a santa sleigh because I don't do woodworking).
I even lit a fire while I was down there...so cosy..since it is dull here..but the rain has stopped Betty.
Hope you have some walking shoes with you..and as you say..we will have our umbrellas if it starts agin.
I am really pumpoed!!..love it when company is coming..it spurs me on to do jobs I normally put off.
See you soon..Betty!!!!!
Girls..we will send photos for sure.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers
Carol
Hi Vicki,
The only one I have of your list of new Hosta is So Sweet.
I actually have a small daylily named Pandora's Box though..
Enjoy your new plants.
Sitting here painting, looking at the clock, at times I think it's going backwards..does that when you are excited about going somewhere..
Jeff (son called) he works a few miles from here, not sure if he needs some paperwork fromthe office here delivered to his, and as it's just Wayne and I today in this office it might be me who has to drop them off...
But Carol, that would only put me behind by 15 or 20 minutes..I'm to check with him at 12:45.. not raining here but the sky just wants to break open, let's hope not until I'm home tonight...
So cute, will look forward seeing all!
I have absolutely no idea how you all can keep the names of your plants at the tip of your tongues..I'm lucky just to know if it's a rose/lilac/lily etc.
Oh My Gosh,
How exciting!! Finally Carol and Betty will meet up.
Sounds like a lovely setting Carol.
hehehe, i can so feel your "pumped" me too...
can't wait to hear and see pics...
Hug eachother up and have a Grand visit.
Hello, hello everyone.
Busy day working a special project so, yahoo friday flying quick.
5 minutes left...anxiously watching the clock...
Hello hello..
Betty left at 8:30pm...
She had said she wanted to leave by 7:pm..but you know how it is when we gals start gabbing....we so enjoyed each other's company.
Betty arrived about 2:15 or so..my neighbour was here putting in a new ultraviolet bulb and filter in my water purifer system..so Betty got to meet him too and we all chatted a bit....turned out we all lived in Oshawa at one time..all three of us....small world.
The rain had stopped and we went out for a tour around the garden..took lots of photos..and chatted a mile a minute the whole time..
It was so comfortable..feeling like we really were old friends..and knowing so much about one another already....and lots of plants in common too..as we walked around Betty would say I have that plant too. I really liked the sound of Betty's voice..so soft and pleasant.
so easy to listen to..and Betty looks younger in person than in some of her photos....and vibrant too.
So I will work on the photos we took and be back shorlty to give you a run down of our very happy day.
It will take Betty about 2 and a half hours to drive home from here. She said she doesn't mind driving in the dark...and she has her GPS with her..

I have such a big Grin, smile...
Thank you Carol, for telling us the visit.
...You have described our Betty, so perfect!!
Oh I am so excited to see photos too!
...Haha, Betty has Thelma to kepp her company.
...tapping fingers, then.
I am so happy you two met!!
OK....I Love both pictures, Can I print them?? Please.
I take her to see all the hydrangeas and their blooms..and she falls in love with some big ones on the Pee Gee.
I picked several of them for a bouquet for her to take home.
Here you can see a bit of them lying on the bench in the rose garden area.
Oh I also gave her two plants for the Friendship Garden.
A small Tiarella and a Heart Song Hosta. The tiarella was a baby that had reseeded from my plant. It should bloom next year.
The Heart Song hosta is a division from my Heart Song.
So while we are wandering the garden I have the roast beef and baked potaotes and squash in the oven on low.
I had put them in the oven before Betty arrived knowing that we would be so busy chatting and so on..and also wanted to go to the Garden place.

Yes of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love it! you are right here with me.
Betty will be surprised when she gets home and sees all these photos.
This is one of me in front of the trellis for my climbing rose Westerland.
There are several daylilies in this bed and a variegated Euyonomus..called something about Moonglow I think.
(I have to edit some these posts because of typing mistakes..)

Yahhh!! Thank You...
Love your trellis! hehe, I am excited for you .
Hey, is that where Josephs Coat lives?
...OKayyyy
I'm still waiting.
After the tour of the garden we went to the Garden place called The Country Lane which is about 10 minute drive from my home. We wandered around looking at all the goodies..but mainly the plants spoke to us..Betty said that when she goes to Meaford hardscape things are a lot less expensive..even though these things were 20% off.
I saw two metal round ball things that I really liked..and Betty said she would like to buy them for me as a gift.
I love them..they sit in a pot ..very unique I think.
I also saw a littel angel with her hands over her eyes that I felt had to come home with me.
And another little hydrangea..and a variegated Sedum and some Genitian..gorgeous blue colour.
Betty got a pot of Genetian too.
This is my lot of goodies when we arrived home again.
In the photo above where Betty is leaning over and holding a rose..that is Joseph's Coat.
He is still in a pot..I need to plant him in the ground for winter. I had kept it on my deck for along time in a fancy pot so I could see it up close.
I for got to show you a few more taken in the Secret garden.
This is Betty in the Nook Garden.
Oh my goodness...
What a wonderful stroll you are enjoying!
Thank you for a lovely afternoon.
,,and my evening...So sweet that you have had a beutilful...and not a cloud in the sky I can tell.
Great treasures Carol.
big smiles going on.
Ok..back home now...we had some natcho dip and a small glass of wine while I got the dinner on the table.
..and after dinner Betty opened her gift...a Garden Plaque that I am passing on to her since I don't work anymore.
I had it sitting in my living room on a stand and it always made me smile..Betty will put it in the Friendship Garden, I think.
We both had fun....so easy and relaxed....told lots of stories and got to know one another a little better..and one day I will go visit her home and Garden. I already have the map printed..LOL
Thanks Betty for making the effort and doing all the driving to get here. ..and especially for gifting me with the wonderful metal spheres for my planters.
Hope you had a safe drive home...you have had a very long day.
Best......
Carol
You are so sweet,, both of you.
I am just smiling up a storm, Happy

Bothof you look like tremendous friends!! (hehe, Duh)
Will definatley look forward to your visit to Betty's.
Betty, hope you are home safely...
waiting...
Thanks Judy..
Glad you enjoyed the Betty and Carol show.
Now we will wait for Betty to post her photos this weekend..
Hope she checks in for a quick minute to let us know she is home safe...should be around 11..she set the GPS for the shortest distance..I hope it doesn't take her the long scenic way....she mentioned that happened going to Chicago.
Cheers,
Carol
