What a lovely morning, BIL Robert dropped in and we had an hour of visiting..he's 1 yr. younger than Roger..has so many of his mannerisms that I'm always in awe of visiting with him..when Roger was alive I couldn't tell the difference between their voices on the telephone...after Roger died I never made that connection again..but in person I see so much of what I miss....so all in all it's been a great day, just imagine when I get home and open those 2 parcels....lol

Well I have had a hard time keeping up with you all! LOL, Finally got through all the posts!

Will just jump in here to Say Hello everyone! Got through my weekend ok, came out with pretty pink nails! We ended up not playing Scrabble but that was ok, instead we split the rest of the firewood (off the Firepit) and restacked it...Halleluah!! for the last time ever. Whew, I have had it with stacking wood. it was quite the affair too. Julia, did all the splitting, I helped hand wood over and then remove and stack. DH, also did some too. Took us about 3 hours...Then we Had a rip roaring fire. As they finished up, i did a little bit of weeding. Still no rose but, my baby is doing fine, green wise. maybe next year I will get a few buds, something to look forward to. LOL, had to laugh as I am sure Bear would have, I am the only one she knows that will polish my nails and then yank out weeds...GRIN.
OH my gosh, Today...I was givin Taffy Apples! Do you know how long its been since i sank my teeth in an apple let alone a taffy apple...Yum saving it for home, cant wait to hear the crunch and savor the Carmel on my tongue...mmmhmm...

Betty, how exciting, can't wait to see what you got!

Judy, that's something I'd do, get nails done and then play in the soil or paint..mind you no need to do nails as I'm always breaking them and they look like x%^...

My day is just getting better...across the street is 'GANZ' they mostly make teddy bears but have entire warehouse full of decorating, kitchenware (infact that is where I purchased the cannister set I so loved that got broken last week) jewelery/purses/candles/Christmas items etc. you name it they have it..well it's been closed due to a fire a few years ago, Paul just brought in a flyer that he got saying they will have a pre-Christmas Warehouse Sale Wednesday Oct.15th and Oct. 21st. then will be open Oct.28th to Dec. 6th on a daily basis (closed Sun.&Mon.) oh happy days, I got so many stocking stuffers from this place...

So told the boss that we had to have an extended lunch hour so we could shop on the 1st. Wedn. it's open...

YOW, how awful! Any way around that route?

I had a good day here. My middle son Scott came and did a lot of small fix-it things for me...and we found a ocuple of things that need looking into but he needed his electrical tester. So he said he would come back another time.

He is laid off work for now..so he has some time to give me a hand.

Betty I heard about them closing the 401 on the radio. What a mess that will be...and so many accidents on that crazy highway 400.

I do hope all goes well with Suzanne's daughter and baby.

Thinking about our Friday afternoon with happy anticipation.

Hiya Jaye...I don't know, fighting them aliens off on regular basis but she is fighting strong too. Being Hibiscus though i am afraid she won't show her pretty face till next or the following season, big pout. But...( feeling a bit bad for Jx is out of contest) Poor, poor babies, she had such high hopes.) But I don't know lots of people in baby swap so any one of them can win big with pretty faces on their little ones.
...But I'm still crossing fingers! And still playing flute music for her enjoyment.

Geesh people need to be careful and anticipate everything. LOL was telling Liz about it and she said welcome to California! I'd be a wreck if I saw this on a regular basis...It was an Actual Brawl...Many guys jump out of vehicle and and beating one guy up. now i am going to have nightmares for sure....LOL, should have jumped out knocked their heads together, ROFLOL, yeah right!! Nobody moved because of them throwing eaching into lanes...Then ended just as fast as it started!

On that note I am making dinner, yummy meatloaf.

Hey Judy, Liz must have been watching very closely when I was showing you how to shade and highlight when we were in Chicago..see the butterfly house she made me, isn't it special..she's special..Liz, if you are reading, know we love you, know we care, come visit so we can hug you...loved the 'butterfly' house because of it's beauty but also because I know it was painted with love...

I've been reading the thread you guys, yep, lost some more adopted plants..Judy, even though yours did not like being outside she's loving your inside and the attention you are giving her...

Carol, days are getting shorter, I've a mega busy week, work tomorrow (driving myself in for the rest of the week) teaching class tomorrow night, work thurs. painting Thurs. night, and then my visit Friday with you..so I've not planned anything at all for Sat./Sun. - think I'll just relax..that' a promise...

Jaey let Kel purchase the tools and then you can use them...that way you don't have to use up birthdays/anniversary and Christmas gifts for tools...
Talked to Darlene tonight, she has tests on Thursday in Barrie, I needed some blades so she'll pick them up for me..imagine, can hardly walk and she's going to shop for me...I just shake my head....

Well I've not had anything to eat as yet..hungry and it I don't each now I'll never sleep...

I am 71 +...as my Birthday is in march. Holding up pretty well, I think! And my crowning pride? I still have my own hair color--a bit of gray here and there around the face--but not too noticeable.

This is my "soul Sister"--my old Aunt, Marija. I think she is 80 (??). She is so young in her mind and heart! And her mind is sharp as a whistle!
As a joke, she brought me a bottle of beer in her purse to the Airport when we were arriving. She remembered (in 1994 when i was there last time), how much I liked beer.....
That was good for a laugh!

Yep, me tiny person in between two very large men ready to through punches...don't remember what but LOL, I actually did talk them into peace. Walked away after shaking hands...many, many years ago, and yes..I was pretty stupid, I could have been crushed. Them days are way over...Had the police out there and they wanted to give me a citation for misconductuct, LOL...lucky for me the owner saw it all happen and I walked awy citation free, Yikes I was a nut!!

Running errands today so I just read your question Betty. Surprisingly enough I did notice the difference in food prices. Believe it or not but much cheaper in Canada. I was absolutely dumbfounded at the size of the cauliflower for 1.29--I paid $2.50 for one about half the size here just before going north.

I also noticed at the market we went to that the meat prices were cheaper also. I don't think it has always been that way. Beautiful meat and cheese, sausages! You name it all cheaper--we don't get the nice quality you can get or atleast I haven't found a place yet to buy it. Even going to the Farmer's Market I don't get veggies any where as large or nice as you have there.

And Betty, you are a mere child for sure!! Gitagirl has me by a few but not many. Age is only numbers though--it's what you do with them that counts. Gita, you look like you have done extremely well with us!! Kudos young lady for sure!!!

Hi all! Must load up the John Deer and head for the camper today. The grass needs mowing. Gotta do what you gotta do. I wanted to sell the place and make less work for these tired bones and mind but this guy talked Scotty out of it because he doesn't like the people we were going to sell to so off we go. I will be 65 in April and thought I would get a handle on things once retired but it is worse than when I worked. Jaye, my gardens are huge if you put them all together it would be about a quater of the quater of the city block that we have. I haven't measured all the dif areas. All have a good day. HUGS BEV

Gita, I have harvested more than this picture shows, but I did want to show you the assortment of tomatoes that you so graciously shared with me at the swap. The cherry tomatoes taste especially good picked from the plant and popped in the mouth. Yum, yum.
