Thanks Becky!! Yes the little guy a purpurea. Tagged purple flaked shibori (?)
I think I will get lots of seeds from the white w/pink throat. I will save you some for sure...
Thank you Becky
Ronnie, You're still getting some beautiful blooms. The Mikasa is just
stunning. I love the way her blooms change. The Sugar Plum is a
wonderful pink. Love the purpureas and the white with pink throat too
luvs - Are these 2 mikasa blooms on separate plants (?)

Beautiful blooms Jackie and Ronnie, I love them all!
Thanks Helena.
Ronnie, the Mikasa is really special. All dressed up in beautiful colors.
Thanks Helena and Jackie!
Ronnie - Thanks for putting me on the list for some seeds! I appreciate it! I love your Mikasa blooms! Very pretty!
Jackie - I need to just grow some Cypress vines. I have heard that they are hummingbird magnets! You are growing some nice vines this year! Always a pleasure to see them! :-)
Thanks Becky, the Cypress vines are really pretty. The foliage as lovely as the flowers, very lacy looking. Your hummers would love this one.
Ronnie - What is this one? http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=5537857 It looks similar to one I grew last year. I was told it was Indigo Feathers. So I am wondering. All of yours look smashing!!!
Meag - Your blooms are beautiful! I am so interested to know more about those grow bags that I posted a seperate thread. You are getting a LOT of beautiful blooms on each vine! Looks great. I love the ones you are growing, too!

Thanks Becky...the original feathered one came to me as a purchase a few years ago from swallowtail gardens a "split blue" they no longer sell it though. It has always reseeded for me and toward the end of the season I start to get the splits and feathers. Last year I had way more than this year. Each year it seems to become a darker purple as shown above. I have never planted any of the ones I saved it always just returns in the same container. I really don't think there is a true name for it other than a feathered or hige ipomoea. I think we all see shades of color differently. I am trying as I start to trade seeds unless I know it is a true cultiver to just describe the seed as featherd pupurea or unknown pink nil and so forth.
One for instance I am growing now and forgot about is a purpurea purchased as "Blue Danube" It looks mysteriously like one I grew a few seasons back as "Sydney"!!
I guess I really didn't answer your question Huh!! LOL
Thanks Melanie and Ronnie. Melanie, love your pink and purple blooms.
Ronnie, your blooms all look great. I love your purpureas.
Your Blue Danube looks a lot like one I purchased
from T and M as Light Blue Star. Beth told me the B Star
looks a lot like Sydney.
Blue Asagao from A. Larger bloom than I expected and a
bright, deep color. I was too close and it will be an in your face bloom if
you enlarge it. lol
SURF'S UP everyone . . .
Hope everyone out there in this monster storm's path is safe.
We are only 250-miles inland and will for sure get very high winds and lots of rain. We are getting ready to move all of my potted plants to the Greenhouse, then 'wait'.
I just saw live TV 5-minutes ago a 30' wave surge lash above the 17' seawall in Galveston, and IKE hasn't even hit yet.
How sad that it will probably take down the restaurants that are out in the water that have stood for so many years. There is even a Hotel 'Flagship' built out above the water.
What a horrible storm that will be here is no time
Joseph, are you headed to Houston?
EVERYONE BE SAFE!
Emma
1) for all those in the path of Ike, may you find safety and refuge, and Godspeed.
2) . . . and on a matter less serious -- my Moonflowers bloomed exceptionally late this year despite starting them in March as seedlings. They finally woke up though and are now trailing up my backyard tree! Their perfumed scent is just heavenly when many are planted and when the flowers start to bloom simultaneously. The pic below is a night shot. Sung
Am praying that everyone in Ike's path will be safe. Looks like a really nasty hurricane. I just heard on the news that they believe that 40% of those in Galveston stayed. Not sure if it was because they refused to leave or because they had no where to evacuate to or no money to leave. Tornados and flooding are the biggest dangers during a category 3 (which is what they are predicting it to be when it makes landfall somewhere around Galveston). It looks like much of Texas and the Gulf states will be affected by this storm. Be safe everyone. And as the storm moves across land, it will still be very dangerous if it is heading in anyone's direction. Stay safe and alert. Expect power outages and flooding. And watch out for downed power lines.
Joseph - Are you in the National Guard or reserves?
Snug - Beautiful Moonflower. I am hoping to see some blooms on one I have currently growing. :-)
Emma and Nichole - Pretty blooms! Both have some nice color of blue in them! :-) Emma be safe!
